"I'm in," Lily said, looking determined, then she spied the basket in Amaranth's hand. "Durrahn should probably wait until the rest of us go through before he follows." Durrahn was still young and if Lily didn't make it through than she doubted that the shadow demon could.

"You're right," Amaranth agreed. She handed the basket to Pre, "Don't be too afraid. Durrahn is a good shadow demon," She told her.
Pre looked at the basket in confusion, but still took it.
Amaranth walked along with Kir and Lily.
Kir unconsciously reached out and grasped Lily's hand. He was nervous as well.

Lily gave Kir's hand a squeeze to reassure him. This had to work, there was no other option they had to go through. She looked forward, focused on the cave in front of them. This was it.

The three of them resolutely walked into the cave.
The cave was only about twenty meters long, but magic on the outside made it look like it was much longer than that.
Amaranth and Kir successfully walked through the cave.
(want you to make your own choice there, even if it's kinda obvious lol)

Lily felt some resistance when she got to the mouth of the cave, like it was deciding whether or not to let her through. I don't care what you do to me but I need to help me friend first, she thought resolutely to whatever was holding her back and the pressure lessen and she was able to go through but she felt heavier, like something was trying to drag her back but she didn't say anything to the other two as they continued.
((yes, I'm going to randomly kill my character in the middle of something lol))

The spring was finally in sight, "Well, here we are," Amaranth declared and turned to see if everyone got through okay.
Kir looked worriedly at Lily and squeezed her hand.

Lily just gave him a smile, as if to say 'I'm alright,' but it somed a little weaker than to should have been. "Well, let's get down to business," she said, wanting to get going because she could feel herself weakening as time went on.

Kir gave a nervous nod and they finally reach the spring.
"Kir..." Amaranth spoke. After a pause, "You have to promise me that, no matter if it fails or succeeds, that you will stay as yourself?" Kir looked down, and then nodded, "Fine. Lets' start the purification ceremony."
Kir walked over to the spring.
Amaranth stood behind him. She closed her eyes and prepared herself both physically and mentally for the ritual.
Her jewel started to glow and she lifted off the ground. With her arms outstretched, she started to sing a melody. It wasn't like the ones she had sang before; this one was full of both power and gentleness.

Lily watched the ceremony from a distance, not wanting to do anything that might disrupt it, but she was beginning to find it a little hard to focus. The spring seemed to be trying to drain her of her strength but she had to stay concious and make sure Kir was ok.

The melody echoed off the walls and the spring itself. Both siblings were covered in a holy light. Amaranth looked more or less like an Angel from the bible; calm, peaceful, gentle, and wise.
Kir had a thin layer of darkness over him, indicating his taint. The holy magic intoxicated him and he closed his eyes, more than willing to give up the venom. A small golden ring also appeared around his neck to show where his seal is.
Amaranth drifted in front of Kir and lifted him up off the ground slightly. She placed a hand on his chest and the magic intensified.

Kon sat and watched as they dissapeared...She sighed and began to search through her things...She plucked a few itmes out and set them down...

The power was so intense that Lily could feel it from where she stood and it felt almost irritating to a creature like her but not so much that she couldn't bare it, but it was getting increasingly harder.

With one hand on his chest and the other on his forehead, the ritual finished. The black aura around Kir had weakened considerably.
They drifted back to the ground again, "how do you feel Kir?" Amaranth asked.
Kir looked up at her with tears in his eyes, but he wasn't sad. It was more or less a state of euphoria.
"With this the ritual is complete. Kir, go ahead and drink out of the fountain," She instructed.
Before he did that, his eyes went to search for Lily and he found her a short distance away. He smiled sadly as if he were apologizing to her, then turned back to the spring.
He knelt down and cupped some water in his hands. He sipped it slowly.
Pre sat down looking at the clouds drifting among them. She still looked like she was thinking about something.
