Wasn't that in Deathly Hallows books? I thought it was. Oh, I looked it up. On page 601, McGongall said, "We shall meet you and you're Ravenclaws in the Great Hall, Filius!" Haha, I'm proud of myself! I found it. It took a while too!

I speculate JKR might have included that line in the book because so many people wondered who ran Ravenclaw. Remember she included Viktor's misproununciation of Hermione's name in book 4 just because so many people asked her how to say Hermione's name?

Oh yes. She is quite clever and does it in a way where it fits in the story. I like that. After she becomes Headmistress though who will take over Gryffindor Head? I think it maybe Neville but who would fill in the gaps from McGongall to whenever Neville starts to work at Hogwarts? Hmm

I would ask her: 1. What ever happens to Lockhart? I didn't really like him as a character, but I wondered if he ever recovered. 2.Do professors ever marry, and if so, where do the spouses live when schoo's in session? 3. Can we please have more on Harry's life after Hogwarts? (the epilogue just didn't hit the spot for me)

If I met JKR, I would FREAK out! It would be so amazing! I probably would not be able to speak at first, then I would eventually ask these questions:
1. What gave you the brilliant idea of Harry Potter?
2. If you made another main character in the series, who would it be, how would this person be a big part of the series, what would happen to them during the final battle? And more about this person.
3. What happened during the time of Voldemort's death and epilogue? How did everyone get married? How did Hermione get her parents back from Austrailia? I want to know so much about what happened between that period of time that I can't write it all down! I wish she would make an eighth book all about it! I would be very grateful. biggrin biggrin biggrin

I have several questions that I want to ask.
1. How in the world did Tom Riddle find the Chamber of Secrets? 2. Is there more than one entrance into the Chamber of Secrets? 3. Why did the entrance to this secret chamber have to be in a girls bathroom? Especially since Hogwarts didn't get indoor plumbing until long after all the founders were dead. How did that work? 4. How thick are the walls at Hogwarts? And how big are the pipes? 5. What did the basilisk eat during all those years it was dormant?
Sorry, but that whole situation needs clarification for me.
6. We know the story of Peter and Sirius after James and Lily died, but where in the world was Remus during that whole time? 7. Why did Sirius think that Remus was the traitor? 8. Did the Potters have official jobs besides being in the Order?
I really do want to know, and I wish that these questions would be posed to Jo.

I know JKR has answered a few of these questions already, so I'll share with you so you're not still wondering.
Suze, McGonagall is Headmistress right after Dumbledore, but not when Harry's kids go to school. JKR said she was "getting on in years." I don't agree, but apparently some mysterious person is Head of Hogwarts, and JKR plans on including who it is in her character encyclopedia if/when she writes that.
Trackstar, JKR said that Lockhart never recovers.
Mindy, JKR thought of the boy Harry Potter when she was riding on a train. The boy wouldn't get out of her head and leave her alone until she wrote his story. She wrote much of the book on napkins in a cafe.
Matelia, none of the Marauders or Lily had jobs after Hogwarts. They fought for the Order full time. James and Sirius had enough money to pay for all of their care, so none of them needed to work.
A topic of many interesting fan fics I've read is why Sirius suspected Remus. JKR never gives us any clues. She DID say that being a professor was the best job Remus ever had, and while I'm sure that's partly because he enjoyed it, it also indicates the poor werewolf must have had many unpleasant jobs after his friends' deaths.
I wondered about the reasoning for the entrance to the Chamber being in a girls' bathroom. but I never thought THAT closely about it before. Now, you've got me curious! When the basilisk was dormant I always presumed it was sleeping, ergo it didn't need to eat. "Sleeping for a hundred years" is a typical fantasy concept, though there was only 50 years between attacks, it was much more than 100 behind Slytherin's time and his heir's time.

The chamber floor was covered with bones, so it had to come out to eat sometime (animals would avoid the place after a while) and it raises the question of when did the basilisk feed?
And why did no one notice a snake that big on the grounds of Hogwarts?
And what happened to all the other snake skins that must have come before the one that Harry and Ron saw?
While I could believe a snake of that size could sleep months at a time, I still can't fathom the technicalities of its life, ergo I'm still curious.
Thanks, Min!

Yes, you're right, if it was shedding and there were bones everywhere it couldn't have been sleeping the ENTIRE time. Hmm...Now, I'm more curious too!

The three things I would ask would be:
1. Why didn't you spend more time on the last book and fill it with the wonder and details, and time that you spent on the others?
2. What is up with the Harry/Ginny pairing. That feels so forced and wrong to me. There was little history or background story to make that pairing feel as if it should be.
3. Will you ever make books about the other two Hogwarts houses? I really wish to know more about them and their members. Or even about the other wizarding schools?

Matelia legwll I have several questions that I want to ask.

^_^ Aren't you glad I brought that up with you. I have a problem with this too, obviously, First. What kind of evil Wizard hides his monster under a "girl's bathroom" - which really wasn't a girl's bathroom during his lifetime, which begs the questions how did the entrance get there and HOW did Tom realize it was there, in a girl's bathroom? And how does "carving" a snake into the sink make it open? Didn't Aragog say the monster was "born" in the castle? So doesn't that mean that Tom's monster isn't actually Slytherin's monster? So some of those bones could be from the first one I suppose. I still like the idea that it "moves through the pipes" because if you think about that in size - there is just no way those pipes are in the walls. Or the plumbing was designed for giants. Something else I ponder about: I realize in fan questioning JKR has stated that Harry doesn't have a godmother because Sirius was too busy being a rebel to get married, but why does the godmother HAVE to be married to the godfather? I don't get that? I have a godmother and my godfather isn't married to her. In fact one is related to me and the other is just a really good family friend. But if this is inline more with a specific culture or religion view please let me know.(anyone, really) And, besides the lovely plot device exactly what was Dumbledore's reason for just letting the mirror of erised sitting out in a random room? Considering what it was suppose to be protecting, you'd think he would have been a little more careful with it.

Minerva the Bookwyrm Yes, you're right, if it was shedding and there were bones everywhere it couldn't have been sleeping the ENTIRE time. Hmm...Now, I'm more curious too! well no, I don't think the shedded skin is odd. The thing was "sleeping"/dormat right-- so once it woke up and the chickens started dying and stuff, it would grow, I have no clue what it ate, but it would need to shed quickly I should think. Remember, practically a whole school year went by before Harry went down there so it had time to shed.

Good God Green Sofa 2. What is up with the Harry/Ginny pairing. That feels so forced and wrong to me. There was little history or background story to make that pairing feel as if it should be. I agree. When that started up in 6, I was like "She's kidding right?", I really thought it was a joke on us readers.

I would really want to know about the arch in the Department of Mysteries that Sirius fell through. How did that work? Is Sirius really dead? He wasn't hit with the killing curse. He simply fell through the arch after being hit with a stunning spell. So did he just go to "the other side" or what? And what were the voices that Harry and Luna heard from within? Ginny and Neville may have heard them or may have not but they were also transfixe with the arch. But Hermione and Ron had no connection to the arch at all. What is up with the arch? I could go on forever about the arch. Does anyone have an answer?
