Kobei would fall out of the tank, like cooked speghetti. Air would blast him in the face, as the tubes he cut were only to the air supply.

These tubes would be entwined throughout her body, some inside her mouth, some in places that tubes should never be. They had to be removed, somehow.

With light pulling, they would slip out, but something had to be done about the wounds that were left. Fresh bandages and the like were contained in cabinents around the lab, they just had to be looked for.

Kobei wasn't concious. Loss of blood made her this way. That, and her body felt cool to the touch, as if she had been refridgerated.

Her body slick with slime, she was held by him, but to what extent was his purpose?

In the darkness, KB had stumbled back, and collapsed into the pool of fluid that had spilled from the tanks. Holding Kobei's limp body atop his, he hardly seemed to notice the disturbing liquid as it soaked his hair and back, and her slimey body soaked his front. Of course, he'd only held Kobei like this for a few moments, reaching up to pet her wet hair as it clung to her.

After those moments had passed, KB had risen with her and moved to a nearby table that looked relatively vacant. Clean would be much too nice to hope for, but at least it was devoid of sharp objects. Laying her upon it, he set about sliding the tubes out of her body. Some were unmentionable, and yet somehow he felt as if he'd done worse to her in the past. Even as his hands explored her body to pull away each tube, hew knew he'd found what he sought. He didn't need to be able to see her to know that.

Whispering "I love you." to her, he moved to the table to retrieve the flashlight. He knew she wouldn't hear him, but his raspy voice had said so anyhow. As if he'd lost his voice screaming at some far-off concert before he came to her.

In any case, KB had immediately set about searching for things with which he could help her wounds. Bandages and the like were easily found, and he set about applying them with trained efficiency. He didn't really know what he was doing, but rather let his hands move on their own accord, the same way a doctor might not ever forget how to do such a simple task.

Of course, getting her stable wouldn't exactly be healing her, but it was a start. After all, there was only so much he could do, especially when he kept seeing stars in his vision.

The tubes would slip out easy. Her body was clotted enough to where she wouldn't bleed everywhere. Butterfly stitching would suffice, as well as cloth bandages to protect the stitching.

Kobei's mouth would pour out more fluid to the ground, as her head would lean to it's side. The tubing was partially feeding, partially oxygen. This would cause the fluid to more or less shoot out, than pour, as the air forced the fluid from her mouth. It almost seemed as if she was trying to breathe.

Her body was weak, but still what mattered is that it was alive. Kobei had not died. The bandages would suffice for now, and then to warm her up some, and clothe her. If he wished to stay, it wouldn't matter Morrigan was long gone.

Applying the resources available where appropriate took a few minutes of continual work, but it was worth it. Every bit of effort had to be taken to make sure Kobei was in good shape. After all, there'd be little point in travelling all this way just to have her die. Though, it was at least good to see her body was reacting on it's own.

Having finished within bandaging her up, KB opened up her mouth. Confident that nothing was blocking her airway, he let her lay there. Now he needed to get the place heated up, or find blankets. Though, for some reason he was sure she'd make it, she was one tough cookie.

Blankets would be found in more Cabinents, as well as spare clothing.

Beyond the room that was fileld with tanks, was another room. Spare equipment, and engines. It seemed Morrigan used almost anything to construct these tanks. Possibly something amongst these things would provide useful?

Having laid blankets atop Kobei, KB left some clothes folded next to her. There was little point in dressing her bandaged body, after all it wasn't as if people wouldn't understand her condition.

Of course, it wasn't as if KB wanted to stay in the lab anyhow. A few moments of exploration with the flashlight led him into an adjoining room where a bunch of motors and such could be found. Odd, to have a mechanic's shop so close to a lab...kind of grisly really.

Looking about, he found numerous keys, which he stuffed into his pocket. God only knew which one went to which lock. Furthermore, KB had no idea where he was, or whether or not Kobei was safe alone.

Regardless, KB had soon found what it was he was searching for, the long dusty metallic shell of a car. Of course, the thing wasn't in very good condition. Shrugging, he removed a couple of jumper-cables from the car anc checked it out. The water in the radiator was long gone, and chances were the gas and oil in the thing were shot. Sighing heavily, he set about searching for anything lights. Flicking every switch he came across, he could only hope he'd find a way to get things on.

After all, the flashlight wouldn't last forever.

Kobei would start to dream, meaning her conciousness was comign to. However, now was not the time to wake up.

Switches were everywhere as always. Best bet is to go back to the main lab, and fiddle around with the main switch board, preferrebly the one Morrigan used to turn off all the lights earlier. It's so easy to find a trail left behind, especially when it's goo.

Backtracking, KB found himself in the lab, and aggrevated. The thought of a nap crossed his mind, but he swatted it away by flicking himself in the side of the head. Conveniently, he'd flicked where he'd taken the head injury earlier. "OW!" He exclaimed, as he shook his head, and groaned.

Pointing the beam of pale light to the floor, KB spotted many a footprint in the slime. Some were bare, others were his bootprints. Following the tracks led him to some switches which he flicked, to no avail. Likely they had been fore other tubes. A few more minutes of searching however and he'd found a large board. A deep breath was sucked up into his lungs as he started flicking switches, hoping for the rumbling sound of generators starting up.

The first couple would start to drain, and refill the closed tanks. After a few others, lights would start to dimly flash on.

After the first six or so, one generator tuned on, and it hummed lightly, powering up more lights, further. Everything came into view, and it looked much better without lights.

The gory scenes of the old bodies breaking apart would be wonderful to look at, as the swishing of the fluid inside the tanks would cause everything to flush away. Meaning no more withered contents. Just clear, green muck. Meaning no more DNA hosts for Morrigan. How sad. No, not really.

Kobei still lay on the table nearby, now picking up a decent rhythmic breathing. Her chest rose and fell, but still, not yet awake.

For a brief moment, KB had considered turning the lights back off. The tubes were now full of green muck, joy. He could almost feel it, and for a moment he thought he could taste the decayed flesh in his mouth.

Good thing he couldn't smell anything. Having been in there for nearly an hour or so, his nose had long since gotten used to the smell. Though, whether or not he'd become infected was another story. The fact that it was a lab would usually imply sanitary, but this place hardly seemed that, especially with all the smashing he'd been doing.

Shrugging, he flicked off the flashlight. It was too valuable to leave on, but he kept it with him in case the lights decided to die out. Now that there was light however, and he'd gotten past the momentary blindness and had his eyes adjust, he began his search once more.

Oil, water, and gas.

The components were found after much searching and rummaging about, and quickly put into the car. He figured he had enough to get them somewhere, though he had no idea where the nearest town might be. Shrugging, he pulled open the car door with a bit of difficulty.

Once inside, he wiped away some dust and set about trying each key he had in the ignition. Eventually one slipped in with ease, and he twisted it. Feeling the car buck slightly, it coughed as it came to life. Amazed that the battery still worked, KB gently pressed down on the gas. The engine rumbled in an unhealthy fashion, but was nonetheless alive. The fluids gurgled into the greedy engine as he kept it going, before turning it off once more. Leaving the key in place, he got out and moved back to the lab.

The thing worked. Right on.

Kobei wouldn't regain conciousness completely, but her eyelids would start to twitch around. No sound came from her yet, but movement was on it's way.

The blanket helped greatly in the aid of bringing warmth back into her body. It was at least helping her regain conciousness. As Kobei's senses started to pick up, she could hear the distant sounds of rumbling.

"Booyaggah!" KB exclaimed, his voice hoarse yet happy as he moved about. Like some sort of scavenger he moved about grabbing everything useful he could find. Stuffing into boxes and crates, grabbing beakers and oddly labled jars of liquid. A chainsaw, the axe and knife, a few bloodied tools as well as the power saw. All of which KB was putting into the front passenger seat of the vehicle, and along the floor in the back, and of course in the trunk.

The lab wasn't the only thing pilferred however, for he'd also ransacked the mechanic area for anything useful. It seemed he planners to lay Kobei comfortable on the back seat, and drive up front.

Kobei would begin to twitch more, and try to open, and close her hand.

She tried to open her eyes, but nothing happened. No visual.

She could only lay there, until her body woke up moreso.
PostPosted: Wed Mar 01, 2006 2:16 am

As gently as he could, KB took Kobei's battered body into his arms. He moved slowly to the car, and managed to get her into the back seat with only a little bit of difficulty. Laying her across the seat, he double-checked to make sure that she wouldn't go anywhere. With the blankets on her, she'd no doubt be mostly safe, unless he came to any sudden stops, in which case she'd fall onto the assorted provisions on the floor.

Now it was simply the matter of getting the car out of the place. Given that the car was in one piece, it was safe to assume it had been driven in, unless magical means had been taken, in which case he was screwed.

Moving about, KB came to a heavy latch on what looked to be a heavy loading platform door. With a bit of effort he pulled it up and off, releasing the door. In his weakened state, it was hard to move all the rusty and stuck equipment. A quick press on the nearby button proved that the power wasn't running into the door, and as such he took ahold of one of the chains that ran up. Holding it, he let his weight do the work, as he drew the chain downwards.

It was a bit sticky at first, but eventually the door lurched free and began to slowly slide upwards. The cold night air hit him hard as he began to sweat, rubbing grime and sweat from his brow with the back of his hand. Unable to find the strength to lift it all the way, he got it up just enough for the car to get under.

He then moved into the car, and started it up once more. The engine sputtered before flaring to life, as KB shifted the thing into gear. Pressing his foot down on the pedal, the car lurched forwards towards the door. The door barely cleared the car, and a shower of sparks came off the roof as the car started up the steep incline that led up a long-forgotten drive. Tearing through the thick overgrown brush, KB left the labs behind, the door open and the lights on. He didn't plan on heading back any time that night, but he was too tired to go turn everything off. Indeed, his eyes were drifting shut even as he fought to keep the thing on the road, as plants viciously scraped and clawed at the dust-covered vehicle.

Kobei would only lay in the back seat, slowly drifting in and out of conciousness. She tried to make aware of her surroundings, and noticed that she was now in some sort of vehicle, and moving. She tried to make a smile, but barely completed it.
