Yay! book talk! I don't ever say I have a favorite book but there is a book that stayed in mind since I read it years ago. It was called "The Outer Mongolian" and has been out of print for a very long time. In fact, I don't even know how I ended up with a copy. Anyway, it has this neat set up where this kid has down syndrome and his parents put him in an institution where he is given a strange combination of vitamins that seems to increase his intelligence to a genius level......

Other than that I don't ever miss a new release from the Southern Vampire series, anything from Shan (I wish he would write bigger books!), Odd Thomas, etc., so even though I have lots of classics on my shelves and teetering on my furniture edges I tend towards Sci Fi.

Hmm, I went through a phase where all I read was war books >.>
It might have something to do with me reading David Eddings' books just before [he seems to have a big war or a battle in his books]
Now I have a horror obsession.
Even though I don't find horror books all that scary =/

I'm currently reading Anne Rice's 'Interview with the Vampire' [although I accidentally read the 6th book in that series ^^;] and it's awesome, 'cept I have to carry a dictionary with me when I read it >.<

The one thing which I wont read is teenagers books. I think that's because I've been reading my mum's books for ages now so I feel quite...immature[?] reading them.

I liked Anne Rice's books until I saw "Interview with a Vampire". Once I see actors in the characters' places it ruins it for me.

Some of the newer young adult literature has better story lines than the older books. I don't care for a lot of the old "teen" classics because a lot of their issues are so minimal compared to what we deal with today but there seems to be a lot of authors who are writing better books with young characters who are smart and strong instead of like the older books where the teens are all rebellious and weak.

I did a study on serial killers so I have a lot of books on them and after reading those and finishing my research paper, I don't get too worked up over horror books anymore.

I don't have a particular genre but I usually fancy fiction! I really like Eoin Colfer and David Eddings! smile

was never able to read interview with a vampire. I was only able to watch the movie version. Is it a lot better than the flick? you've made me really curious. ^^

I haven't seen the film yet.
I was gonna watch it once I finished the book but after what Choco said I'm not quite sure I will ^^;
I got quite annoyed when I found out that Armand was played by Antonio Banderas -.-;
[doesn't make much sense seeing as Armand is Russian and Banderas is Spanish]
I can't really afford to not read them though seeing as I bought the first four books >.>

Choco, love your new avi by the way ^^

"Interview with a Vampire" was a good movie and I don't want to discourage anyone from seeing it but I would highly suggest to read all the books first if you planned on it. The movie can be understood without reading the books though and I thought the actors were matched pretty good for the characters (not like the disgusting choices they did for "True Blood"....I couldn't wait to see who they chose for Eric and it was a screeching disappointment).

I am so tickled to get a kudos from you, Icrat, over my new avi as I think you are the most artful when it comes to fixing them up.

Yes, Hyung, I would definitely recommend Anne Rice. I have read a few of her books besides the Lestat ones and she is good. I would suggest starting a book of hers when your schedule isn't real hectic though because than you can figure out what your pace will be as she can be a little more challenging to read than Potter or LTR (my opinion, of course).

Heretic <3 I loved that book. I am not sure why it just had a nice story line and yeah I could easily picture it in my head an yeah I jsut loved it to death =p It isn't that big of a book but it is cool. I would love it to turn into a movie and they don't stuff it up (Eragon *narrows eyes*) but I don't think that will be happening anytime soon. Ah well it will add more to my want to become a director.. sort of XD Anyway =p

I haven't read Heretic, so I will look around for that. I know exactly what you mean about the Eragon book to movie. They just fouled it up.

Oh gosh I can't remember who wrote it. Let me jsut go see. One link and the site for Sarah Singleton. It is a really good book. Yes I know, my friend and I were talking about it the other day and how they can't do Eldest and everything.
