Too Descriptive?
No, I like the story-like detail
I like it, but I want some more action!
Can we pick up the pace, and forget the stupid details?
I absolutely hate the descriptions! They make my brain hurt! >:^[

So we have three of the four basics covered in this group thus far. Not sounding too bad.

Got us a front liner, got a mage, got a skill set... basically we're looking for that walking, talking wand of cure moderate woundsm please.

that is true we seriously need some long rangers and spell wielders

and for the honored DM, I'd be happy to answer any questions that you have.

Since you're obviously missing what I've said this whole time.

I AM PLAYING AN ARCANE CASTER.

Arcanist, sir. Arcane. I've got that covered. Give me time, and you'll really not like my pet.

That would require the DM specifically to answer.

Personally, I think not. I believe the accepted classes will be limited to:

Barbarian
Bard
Beguiler
Cleric
Dragon Shaman
Druid
Duskblade
Fighter
Monk
Knight
Paladin
Ranger
Rogue
Sorcerer
Wizard

Since no other classes have their 20 level progression chart available, I believe that none others are accepted. However, if the DM is allowing any class mentioned in the PHB II, then also included will be:

Favored Soul (Complete Divine)
Hexblade (Complete Warrior)
Marshal (Miniatures Handbook)
Scout (Complete Adventurer)
Swashbuckler (Complete Warrior)
Warlock (Complete Arcane)
Warmage (Complete Arcane)

For sake of requests though.... if these other classes are allowed, since they are from other sourcebooks, will other classes from these books be acceptable as well?

i.e. - The Marshal comes from the Minis book; can I use another class from the minis book? I could see use in the healer class instead of a cut and paste cleric of Pelor.

@neojoe: Thanks for understanding. I don't think I will be asking much since I did some research on them and now have a general idea of how they work.

@Singley: thanks for the list, I was hoping to keep it simple in those two books. but if you guys are having trouble then I'll allow any of those listed, Marshal being the only one that I have no info on whatso ever. If you can send me some info on it then I might accept it.(I have a digital version of Complete Arcane, complete Adventure, complete warrior, and complete divine. But not the minitures as of yet.)

@Monk: As stated above, if you are interested you can choose any of those classes stated above.

BAB: 3/4
HD: d8
Saves: 12/6/12
Skill Points: 4+INT
Skills: Bluff, Diplomacy, Handle Animal, Intimidate, Knowledge, Listen, Perform, Ride, Sense Motive, Speak Language, Spot, Survival, Swim

Abilities: Skill Focus (Diplomacy), Auras (Party/Enemy status effects), Grant Move Action (#/day)

They aren't bad, they aren't good. They get cleric style saves and attack bonus, but no spells. Decent HD, Great Armor (Everything but Tower Shield), Solid saves, and moderate BAB. They're good enough to hold their own, or serve as a primary damage dealer.

Since this is only level one, I can't really do too much to disturb you. However, if you'd like a copy of the effective level 15 character I finished for the other thread, I'll send you a copy once I finish typing everything out nice and neat like.

Two questions for you:

1) You list races as being any, with particular notice that you would accept dragonborn of Bahamut from Races of the Dragon. Does this mean that Races of the Dragon is an acceptable sourcebook for this game? Specifically, I am interested in the Dragon Tail feat.

2) Do you allow flaws?

I ask these things because I refuse to recycle my old (albiet powerful) spellscale sorcerer concept and because there is a charecter I made for another game that never made it very far that I'd be interested in trying out again. Below is her stats on the assumption of both flaws and Dragon Tail. I can edit as needed, but my submission may change if this is not allowed:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Backstory (highly abridged)

Quillathe was born into a prosperous Raptorian town. Her parents decided amongst themselves to give Quillathe a customary elvish name, with a bit of a twist. Quillathe was unusually limber as a nestling, being very flexible and showing an early strength far above the norm. Most people put this unusual charecterist down as good breeding; Quillathe's mother was a fine example of a raptorian, and her father was one of the proud Skypledged.

Quillathe met Ariana at a young age, and the two became fast friends. The two spent many an afternoon together in the trees, with Quillathe wanting to discover what lay outside the village. It soon became apparent, though, that Ariana was developing certain strange qualities. Every so often when Ariana walked past a light object it would move slightly to the surprise of both girls; some experimentation later, and it was decided that Ariana had a knack for sorcery.

Quillathe was jealous that her best friend should be so gifted; Ariana had the power to make things happen now with no training whatsoever, and without even laying hand upon it. Still, no matter how bad it got, Quillathe always put on a friendly smile and congratulated her friend's every success; Quillathe learned to channel her feelings into an iron-hard determination to prove herself. Seeking tutorage from an elder, more experianced Raptorian, Quillathe began to train herself in the martial arts. She learned to coordinate her body movements fluidly, and how every body part could be made into a weapon.

------

One day, as part of a household "coming of age" ceremony, Quillathe's father offered to take her out on a weeklong travel to see the neighboring metropolis several miles away. Eager for new experiances, Quillathe accepted, and packed what little she thought she needed; it was her father who actually remembered to bring the tent and firewood without which it would have been a miserable journey indeed.

All was well and fine, and there was much quality father-daughter bonding time, but on the fifth day of their travels, something completely unexpected happened, something that would haunt Quillathe for the rest of her natural-born life.

A gigantic shadow fell across both of them. It was a particularily sunny day, and so they both looked up curiously, wondering if some cloud had, perchance, drifted across the sun.

(more to come)

@Anketh: I'll try and answer your questions in order...

1. FINALLY SOMEONE BESIDES ME WANTS TO BE DRAGONBORN!!! I highly recommend it considering it's a kick-a** "race". I have those source books so I know about the feat.

2. Depending on the flaws. Looking at the flaws you chose, and the feats to add on, I'll let you get by with them.

Finally... from what you have you're good to go.

@Dimitri: We went over this already. Give me a hard time, I give you a hard time. And I don't mean the "Break my rules I strike you down with lightning" kind of trouble. j/k

@Monk: 'kay, your good.

I'm hoping to get this game started around next week. Hopefully my school work/personal life won't get in the way to often. If there is any complaints about my descriptions/methods/etc, please pm me or a guild mod. (preferibly[sp?] both) so that I/we can fix it.
