"Take whichever route you prefer," the vampire said softly with a little sweeping motion. A thought had occurred to him, and the more he thought of it, the more it bothered him. Saying nothing of this, he hid it easily behind a mask of non-expression and golden hair. Mull knew nothing of them, he was almost certain. Almost. "Just... what was the name of that other... guest... you used to host here?"

Mull blinks, thinking for a moment. "I think it was Alexander... Something like that. Why? Did you know him?" He had, by this time, started towards the kitchen, glancing over at the other from the doorway to motion him in. "It's not much, but at least I can cook somewhat."
He holds the door open for Asher, tilting his head as he watches the other, wondering what was wrong.
((It was either a boy owned by Andie or by my sis.. XD Can't remember his exact name since the rp happened quite awhile ago in the old guild. *no longer has the link to that one either* ))

Asher cast his gaze around the kitchen. To a vampire it was just another room and had little use beyond feeding 'pets' and... Shido had gotten him into the habit of warming his hands with a cup of coffee. His sentimentalism was charming at times; he did enjoy the smell though.
Glancing over to Mull, he shrugged ever so slightly. "Perhaps, though I do not recall specifically." So. It was not as he had suspected. There were certain aspects about Mull that disturbed Asher, that reminded him of the past. It was eerie and he had yet to decide if he liked any it or not.
(( That's fine. :3 ))

Mull cast another glance around the kitchen before deciding that there really wasn't anything that would interest a vampire in here and turned to head towards the basement door. "This is the basement. The only thing I've put in down here since building this place was the coffin. Other than that, the room is bare, except for the small light in the middle of the room." He motions to the ceiling light hanging a few inches away from the coffin. The coffin itself was a deep midnight blue with intricate gold plated designs and handles. The lid was closed and locked, a thin layer of dust covering the lid.

Wordlessly, and indeed soundlessly, Asher followed Mull into the basement. He swept his gaze quickly about the empty room. He had little reason to believe he would be using this room and had no desire to. The issue was only partly one of trust. He did not trust Mull, though he seemed to be very straightforward so far.
A single claw caught the underside of the coffin's lid. Lifting it, he glanced inside before lowering it again, leaving no mark behind, despite the dust coating the upward-facing surfaces.
It would seem that Mull had been waiting for a vampire to come along and 'pick out drapes.' Was he obsessed or simply so entrapped by Asher's world that he could not abide normal people? He smirked faintly and turned for the stairs without comment.

Mull merely shrugs as the other turns without comment and starts leading the way back upstairs before proceeding down the hallway in front of them. Stopping in front of a set of double doors, he pushes them open, then steps aside, motioning towards the room. "This is the office and library." He says, looking around at the room for a moment, tails flicking.
He was pretty sure that the other thought he was odd, keeping a coffin in his basement. It wasn't that he was enraptured by vampires or anything, it was more like vampires and werewolves were the only actual species that ever really associated with him in any manner other than trying to avoid him completely. He hadn't really associated too much with other races since Maura Des had gotten sick and he had gotten in a fight with one of Maura's siblings over some things the other had mentioned in his presence. That was one of the few times he had actually been nice to someone, was whenever Maura Des was around. That was all in the past now, especially since the other never came around anymore, anyway, and probably wouldn't want anything to do with the hybrid even if he did.
He sighs a bit, shaking his head to clear the memory of one of the few times he'd actually been happy to be around someone normal.

Asher ascended the stairs which gave not so much as a halfhearted creak in his wake. He peered into the room shown to him curiously: what kind of books would someone like Mull read?
He glanced back at Mull as the other sighed. Did something about this room trigger poignant memories? There was no telling the reason for it, though he was tempted to ask.
So far the only things that seemed to set Mull apart from other youths were his familiarity with vampires - not a unique situation these days, by any stretch of the imagination - and his apparent love of violence. He had seen plenty of that in others as well, though very little displayed in Mull. Was he waiting for Asher to literally attack him?
Then, was there something that set him apart in Asher's mind, something interesting, intriguing? He was not yet sure. Were they connecting, beyond superficially? Again... no way could he be sure. He did not want to have a heart-to-heart with a stranger, but this tour was doing little for him besides give him the opportunity to map everything out in his mind.
On the other hand, he had something of an obligation to at least try to come to some sort of understanding with Mull. It was not as simple as he "owed" the master of his household... but the peculiarity of the situation left him feeling awkward, which of course, he disliked.

Mull watches the vampire for a moment as he follows after him, then motions towards the books. "Not sure what exactly would interest you personally. I've got some historical stuff, some romance novels, basically I've got a little bit of everything. I read whatever happens to catch my interest, so I don't usually stick to just one particular genre."
He then motions towards the large desk at the center of the room, a rather large, cherry colored antique desk that seemed like it might have come out of some warhero's belongings. "Picked that up at a flea market... Not that I do much work there anymore. Just don't think it would be right to get rid of it, you know?"
His tails flick slightly as he glances around the room once more, eyes narrowing slightly as he noticed a gap in some of the books across from them. "And it looks like one of my nosey neighbors decided to sneak in and help themselves to my books..." He rumbles low in irritation, a tone that promised punishment to whoever he caught with said missing book.
His tails seemed to bristle with anger as he slowly stalks across the room, nose twitching as if to sniff out the culprit. His lips curl back into a rather vicious snarl as he hisses out a single word. "Aion..." then promptly turns and stalks out of the room, smashing a fist into the stone wall across from the door into the library, leaving a rather large, bloody smear on the stone as he finally calmed down, or at least, appeared to.

Asher trailed clawed fingers along the rows of books as the hybrid described his collection to him. He pulled out an older-looking volume as Mull moved to the desk. Now that piece of furniture had some history to it... "Just... don't send it back to a flea market," the vampire murmured with some hint of revulsion to his voice. It did not belong in a flea market.
He stepped away - still holding the book - as Mull approached another section of the book case. Good sense of smell, he thought to himself; of course that was obvious and not at all surprising but interesting to note. He crossed over to the desk and leaned against it, fingers taking in the delicate wood grain, as Mull grumbled about his missing book then later stormed out.
To follow... or not to follow? When he had finished flipping through the book and in the process giving Mull a few moments to collect himself, he replaced it carefully where he had found it. He was curious about this Aion... it would seem this pair had a familiar rivalry.
Blood... A claw traced the smear lightly and was licked clean as he watched Mull. "What will you do?" He could have meant the smashed fist or the missing book, but he did not specify.

Mull's eyes flick rapidly over to Asher, as if, in his fit of blind rage, he had forgotten the other was there until just that moment. He raised his still bleeding fist up and seemed to contemplate it for a moment before stepping into the bathroom just on the other side of where his fist had smashed into the wall. Rummaging around in the medicine cabinet, he began the process of cleaning up his hand and wrapping it in bandages.
"There's really nothing I can do about Aion. He's a powerful demon that comes and goes as he damn well pleases. He seems to think it's funny as all hell to take my things or move them around. And believe me. I have tried everything within my own power to make him go the hell away."
His tails flick rapidly, showing his agitation, the tiny demon wings on his shoulders quivering with rage.
"Aion is one person I would gladly tear limb from limb and leave as tiny little bloody pieces all over the landscape if I could. He seems to think I'd make a wonderful addition to his army and his plans of overthrowing various religious people. The fact that I keep telling him to piss off doesn't seem to phaze him in the least."
He steps back out of the bathroom and glances over at the smear again, as if debating whether to clean it up or leave it there for now.

Asher felt the beginning of a smile tugging at his lips. Whenever Mull passed, he stayed out of the way. "Perhaps he does all this because he knows it will annoy you and put you at unease. It is obvious that if that is his intention, he has succeeded. If you cannot physically beat him, then outwit him in some other way..." As to how... well, that was between Mull and Aion, wasn't it?

Mull snorts at that. "There's no outwitting someone who's been alive since Lucifer was cast from heaven. Especially not by someone like me. You may think I'm smarter than I look, but I'm not, believe me. And I will not pretend to be friendly with him."
He growls slightly at the thought, the hair on the back of his neck rising up. "Not ******** likely."
His eyes shift over to Asher lazily, as if contemplating something. "What did you have in mind...?"

Asher snorted softly, letting the comment about the demon's age go for now. However, if Mull wanted to be rid of Aion, it may be an important factor, as he knew well enough in dealing with other vampires. "I don't know anything about this Aion. Knowing how to outwit him should be left to someone who knows him well enough to do so. It may not even require genius to trap him, I don't know." His brows lifted slightly. "But you look like you might have an idea."
(( I know enough about Aion to have no clue how to outwit him. XD; But believe what you want to, Asher. <3 ))

((XD Agreed, Melo. ^__^;
Aion:: *smirks, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose* Quite true.))
Mull blinks, then shakes his head. "Not a damn clue or idea. I know he talks about tracking down the one that betrayed him, but as far as I know, he's never found this 'Chrono Sinner' he's been looking for. Although he may turn his attention to Chrono's kids..." Mull tilts his head, thinking again before nodding slightly. "That would definitely catch Aion's attention. The chance to corrupt his greatest enemies kids into joining him against their father would be too great a temptation for him to resist, I would think."

(( BAH! He just had to overhear. Now his ego is going to swell to even greater proportions. >P ))
"So offer to lead him to them; and in exchange he must leave you alone. Perhaps he would see that as a fair trade." It would seem that demons were as intricately linked as vampires, outside of human or even Anthro knowledge. Perhaps such trades could be made as well... Very intriguing. "Of course, if he is as old as you say, perhaps he, or through his sources, already knows..."
