The stallion had long since chosen to rid himself of the view of the world, simply because 'beauty' was not something he saw often. The scenary may have been spectacular for others to behold, but one look from him and he witnessed as they withered and died. This wasn't in a literal sense - on the contrary the land remained as it was, it simply transformed within his cursed vision to become warped, corrupt and dead. It was not the most pleasant of sights to see and as a result he much preferred to be blind. This often caused problems in itself as the majority of Soquili preferred to look into one another's eyes to express genuine emotion or truth.
When it came to Cyn, they had no other choice than to trust him.
Such was the way of the world and for a time he had envied those who remained oblivious to what lay before them. The paths of death and destruction he could see destined to stay secret. Unlocked only by the flow of time, no other Soquili would know what to expect until it occured. For a long while he had been bitter in this regard, incapable of warning them of tragedies that would befall them. He wasn't allowed to offer 'advice' and was only permitted to offer vague warnings when they sought him and his skills. However at some point within his deep slumber he had found peace and acceptance of his skills - he didn't like them but there was no use cursing them. Instead he had merely blinded himself by growing his hair to the point that the light never reached his eyes and the shifting landscape would forever be shrouded in secrecy to him.
His eyes, were his spiders.
Nevertheless within moments the spider by his ear had confirmed her excitement (and acceptance) to the point that Cyn's instincts and senses weren't really necessary. He could almost feel the childish excitement radiating from the young filly, it was enough to make him smile a little deeper. With a slight nod he lifted his head again and rolled his shoulders, relieving the tension that had built up within them from remaining 'crouched' for so long.
"We can start as soon as you are ready," the Angeni replied smoothly, ruffling his wings and turning his head towards her. Her bouncing was and exhuberance were easily felt as the soil vibrated beneath her hooves, in a manner of speaking he hadn't dealt with something this excitable in a while! "As to where we will go - perhaps you would like to pick a direction, no?"

Frosty's eyes lit up again at the stallion's words. When she was ready? What was there to prepare? The filly had no one to say good bye to and no personal possessions to worry over. She was likely one of the most free Soquili in the lands, with absolutely nothing to hold her to any place except memories and sentiment, which were easily discarded in the face of curiosity and adventure. With this being so, Frosty said emphatically, "Let's go now!"
As to what direction, it being declared her choice by her dark companion, the filly looked first in one direction, towards the thick forest, and then in another, towards the other end of her small valley. Looking ahead of her then, in the direction the stallion had come from, Frosty nodded definitively, "Let's go that way." With that being said, the filly looked first to the stallion, and then forward once more. Her legs were still a bit unpracticed and extended traveling, but she would strengthen with time. This being so, the little grey one started off at a tentative walk, still unsure of many things. Was he really, really going to come with her right now? Would she fall flat on her face once more? Would the grass taste better outside of her valley? These were all matters of extreme importance to the young one, whether they were material to others of her species was irrelevant!

Childish innocence, where sentiment and memories weren't terribly important. Perhaps when she was older she would wish to return home, to the valley that she had grown in but for the time being she was curious. He could accept this, embrace it and encourage her to strive towards her goals. According to his guide it appeared she wanted to leave her valley, following the trail that he had been on prior to her rather sudden impact with the ground. This was rather convenient for him (if he was honest) given that he hadn't intended to deviate from his path, thus if she wanted to seek what lay beyond the valley he was more than happy to assist.
Flicking his tail against his flank, he backed up slightly to give the filly her space and once she had gone ahead of him he followed. His pace was much slower than he was accustomed to, but all things pointed towards the child's apparent clumsiness and unsteady footing. Due to these two things he had opted to slow down, providing the filly with enough time to gain her strength and composure. Step by step, mile by mile she would become used to her own legs and then he would speed up again. He was in no rush after all, time was irrelevant to him and he didn't have others to accomodate.
On the contrary there was a part of him that was now satisfied in the knowledge that the child would remain safe. There were few creatures who dared to strike at an Angeni given the powers they possessed and so, the filly could take him wherever she wished to go. They would be safe for the most part.
"Lead the way," he encouraged her softly.

Frosty proudly walked ahead of the large stallion, confident in her safety, both from her inexperience with real danger, and with the more reliable knowledge that her traveling companion was strong. As they walked, the foal realized the fact that she had yet to really meet this dark creature whom she now traveled with. She didn't even know what he was really.... With her curiosity once again brimming over the few polite manners she had, the foal blurted out, "So what are you actually?" It was obvious to her that he was more than just an adult soquili, because she had seen adults and they did not have wings and horns. She wished that she would grow into such a body, flying sounded like a wonderful adventure, but she had gained enough sense to know that that was unlikely to be the case.
Continuing on the thought process of getting better acquainted with her new friend, the little foal also asked, "And what's your name? Mine is Frosty!" But as she thought about it, Frosty started to wonder why she called herself that.... She remembered voices before she had been in the basket, they were vague, but definitely in her memories, and it seemed to her that that had been when such a label had sunk into her subconscious. No matter how it had gotten there, the fact was that the foal had been calling herself that and she couldn't think of anything she would rather be called, and she had already told her new friend, only friend really, that that was her name, so she would keep it. There were a lot of things that the filly hadn't thought about in her time in the valley, but now she was finding lots of things to think about.... Strange, it was almost like she was starting to learn something!

Her name seemed appropriate according to the description he had been provided by the spider. The arachnid had now crept up onto the tip of his horn and was once again watching the horizon for signs of dangers and obstacles. A grey filly by the name of Frosty, not quite the colour of snow but certainly close to it. For all intents and purposes, whoever had named her had done it well even if they hadn't stuck around. He wasn't one to judge though and there may have been other reasons for her desertion - it was simply not his place to pry in that regard.
"They call me Cyn Generis," he replied after a few moments, parting the long grasses with ease as his tall form pressed great weight upon each strand. Even at this lumbering pace, his hooves seemed to thump heavily upon the ground, sending a small ripple through the soil. It came with the territory, given he was ridiculously tall. Angeni had always been considerably larger than other Soquili but for the most part, Cyn generally received remarks that he was a little too big. Not that he minded, his height acted as a deterrance for the most part.
"However most refer to me as 'Cyn' for some reason or another, you are free to call me whatever is most comfortable," he continued. The small smile flickered onto his lips again and he gave his head a little shake to push the long strands of hair away from the tip of his nose. Blind he might have been, but being tickled in one of his more sensitive spots was not appreciated!
"As to what I am..." he released a soft sigh and cleared his throat. "My kind are known as Angeni, guardians of the Soquili that wander these realms. It is our duty to protect and guide them whether they ask for it or not," he explained. She was too young to be taught about the 'fallen angeni' as of yet, those creatures that had lost their way and become destructive and cruel. Her innocence could be perserved for a time, but eventually he would have to educate her. He would sooner she went into the world with opened eyes, yet an optimistic view.
...That way, maybe she could be the key to guiding some back to the path they had strayed from.
"You will see many different kinds of Soquili as you explore, though none are quite as large as I am."

Frosty nodded, trying to form the syllables with her young mouth. "C-cyn Geneerrrris..." Shaking her head, the foal made the easy decision, "I like Cyn!" She grinned widely and looked ahead towards the horizon, trotting a bit in her excitement. That act surprised the foal a bit, as she was still getting used to all of the gaits she was capable of, but she found that she liked it, and trotted a bit ahead, before coming back and walking again at Cyn's side. She listened to his explanation of the Angeni, again silently practicing the new word. Her ears flicked at the word 'protect'. Was that why he had agreed to be her friend? Well, it didn't matter, because Frosty didn't mind being protected as long as it meant she had someone to play with and talk to.
At the mention of his size, a slight giggling whiney broke through the filly's muzzle, "You certainly are big! But everyone looks big to me, so I couldn't tell that you were bigger than other soquili...." Frosty nodded matter of factly. She was getting better at her understanding of the world, and having an adult looking after her would certainly help the foal survive. Though she didn't know it yet, Frosty had been quite lucky in finding this Angeni before any less genial adults came across her.... But she was still quite innocent to the evils in the world, and perhaps that was for the best for now. Either way, the filly was quite happy to be going on her first adventure with her new friend.
((conclusion time?))

[[I'd say this is the perfect time to bring it to a close, it's a nice way to end it and means that we leave it where it's assumed that she had a travelling companion though the 'adventure' is unspecified.]]
Once again Cyn had found his name being shortened to accomodate another. At times he found this amusing, though the 'shortened' version was somewhat ironic given his past. A creature who had sinned was fondly know as Cyn. Nevertheless he did have to agree that his name was much easier to remember in this form and with less syllables within it, it was much more accessible to those who were young or foreign. Thus he absorbed the knowledge that she had chosen this name for him and bowed his head in acceptance of her decision. She would address him as 'Cyn' and he would respond to it accordingly.
That being said he couldn't complain about the new foal he had acquired during his travels. Inquisitive as she might have been, she possessed an independence that would ensure that on occasions she wouldn't need him to tell her anything to learn. He would explain as necessary but she already had the intelligence required to grow in to a fine and impressive adult. Admittedly he was a fan of ensuring that her innocence remain intact for the time being - in the future she would have to face reality but no foal should have to endure it so soon.
...They just wouldn't understand.
"Then you shall have to wait until we meet another Soquili," he teased in a good natured manner, continuing to follow the filly under the direction of his guide. Cyn Generis always happened to stumble upon others, she would meet other Soquili without the slightest problem in his company...
