Bailey's words don't provide any comfort to Magda. Well, they do, a little, but something about having a new body with new variations of hormone levels still causes her lower lip to quiver and her eyes to water. It was not a full-blown tantrum as she was not flailing her limbs or bawling at the top of her lungs.
Her cries were not loud, just audible those a few feet away.
"You're not an infant, Magda. Why are you crying?" Quilt sounded confused and a tad annoyed. It wouldn't do to have a fully grown adult upset to the point of tears, even if she was currently in a tiny body.
"C-ca' hu-he' eet." she hiccuped, cheeks burning, feeling completely mortified. And the more upset she felt about her embarrassing situation, the harder it was to stop herself from crying.

"Ah, poor thing." Bailey said softly, reaching out and patting her on the head. Her body was that of a baby and would have baby-like reactions to all sorts of things. So, of course, poor Magda's logic wasn't able to help her stop crying, even if she wanted to. "Sucks crying all the time and not having control over anything."

Quilt does not want to have to comfort Magda and it is evident in the tight line his lips are pressed. It is not that he is cold-hearted or unconcerned that his charge was upset, he just doesn't want to risk making things worse. Especially since he tends to lose control when making any affectionate gesture.
So he holds her out and away from his body, closer towards Bailey who seemed more effective at making the crying infant feel better. "Just let it all out." He tells Magda.
Magda hiccups and bobs her head in assent. She would very much like to declare how this situation indeed sucked. With the appropriate expletives to boot. Her only consolation was that Bailey wasn't mocking her as he had gone through this before.
She seems to recall how a hug manages to calm infants down, but with the way Quilt was holding her it didn't look like he was going to give her one anytime soon. Instead she reaches to Bailey, hoping he would indulge her despite having just met. Hey, they were both kids, there was no reason to question either of their intentions.

Understanding the situation pretty well, Bailey took the infant from Quilts hands and hugged her gently, patting her back carefully. He tended to have to help out with his brother like that, particularly when Charlie was in charge, so it wasn't that big of a stretch for him switch right into older brother mode.
"There there." he said softly, as he pat her back. His voice was gentle, calming, yet not the cooing he often was disgusted to hear mothers using on their infants.

Magda often remembered seeing parents coddle their children, films, movies, dramedies on the television, not really understanding why such close contact managed to comfort the infants. Her parents were never the touchy-feely sort, her father had the disposition but was too physically awkward to be of any good. Her mother was more likely to tell her to suck it up and walk it off.
But now in Bailey's arms, feeling his warmth, hearing the rhythmic beat of his heart, Magda manages to get a faint idea. It is a pleasant sensation, she analyzes, but the conditions required to attain such an activity seemed too much trouble (not to mention quite embarassing).
Gradually she calms down to a soft whimpering, the tears just trickling rather than pouring. "I fi' nao." she tells him. She doesn't bother to thank him, gratitude is not in her nature.
Instead it is Quilt who verbalizes their appreciation, "Thank you, Bailey. You seem experienced in dealing with children."

Bailey carefully handed the settled babe back to her guardian with a nod and a smile. "Yeah. I have younger siblings and have to help out with them a bit." he explained. "I've also helped out with a newer criminal who arrived at a barbecue I was attending."

Quilt shifts Magda in his arms so that she's still facing Bailey, "Strange, I found Magda thanks to another criminal's guardian. Is it possible that you're drawn to each other?" he speculated.
Magda cants her head, studying the metallic, older boy. Hoss had been hostile so Magda fairly understood his home world's reason for sending him away. What could Bailey have done to warrant being exiled from his planet, she wondered. He couldn't have done something violent, could he? Oh if only she could speak properly instead of the garbled gibberish she currently produces.

"I wouldn't know. I heard they used to all fall at that place - that's why it had been set up as the headquarters to find homes for the landed kids I think. I was just at a barbecue being held there for the criminals stuck on Gaia and a pod landed there." he explained with a shrug before looking at Magda and smiling brightly again. She seemed to fancy lots of attention so he made sure to pay her plenty of attention too.

"Headquarters?" Quilt is curious and interested, "Would it be alright if you gave me the directions to that location?" Perhaps if he spoke to the Archie Rusty had mentioned prior he'd get a better idea of how to care for Magda and if she had any other needs.
And Magda returns the smile by cooing. Yes, notice me! she mentally declares, gray eyes drinking in the sight of the bright skinned boy. You remind me of home.

"Eh, I don't think its the HQ anymore but I think Archie's family still lives there and he's over a lot. I wouldn't know, though. But yeah, sure." the boy said with a nod and went on to tell Quilt where he could find the house.
All the while Bails was talking to Quilt, he'd glance down and grin at Magda, patting her on the head at one point.

Quilt makes a note to visit the address soon. "I really appreciate your help. If in the future you find you need a bit of muscle, do not hesitate to ask me."
Magda quirked a brow at her guardian, wondering what exactly he meant by muscle. She shrugged, sticking her tongue out playfully at Bailey when he gave her a pat on the head. It felt a little patronizing but she let it slide given her earlier behavior.

Bailey laughed and stuck his tongue out a bit at her too, in a friendly playful manner as he ruffled her hair a bit. "Nice meeting you Magda, and you too, Quilt." he said, grinning up at the man again. "And I hope to see you both again in future."
About that point, the young man had to get back to looking around the museum so he bid them adieu and was on his way.
