((Not to worry. I understand hectiscism (Is that a word?)))
Her words surprised him. "Send you before the elites? For an accident? That seems a little harsh, don't you think? I said I'm not angry with you. I was just surprised, that's all."
Rowan gently bumps her head with his, hoping the gesture will make her relax a little. His little Mus stops running all over his master, instead climbing down to her line of sight.
"No sad, he nice!" He says, compassion in his small eyes. "Nice, won't hurt!"
"Listen to him. I won't hurt you." Rowan says, his tone soft.

((Eep! Midterms! Was NOT expecting this! By the way, I'm going to be gone this weekend. I'm leaving Friday at three and will be back Sunday evening. Sorry for holdin' you up!))
Still hunched and tiny, Magnolia began to straighten up a bit as the realization that her students would never know of their teacher's disgrace slowly came over her "P...promise you're not angry?" Her eyes were still confused... after all, with her strict-mannered upbringing, this sort of accident was akin to eating somebody's own mother or something. She knew that her family members would exile her for something like this, but this male seemed to be different... so long as that wasn't just her hope talking.

((That's okay, I understand. I'll look forward to your next tag regardless^^))
"Oh, believe me. If it was that easy to rile me up this little one would long since have filled my stomach." He indicates the little Mus standing between them and chuckles again. "I promise I'm not angry. Tell you what? I'll let you get away with a warning, okay?"
Again, he reached forward and gently preened her eartuft again, this female just wouldn't relax! Reading through the situation, Rowan could only guess that she was meek and the situation, the accident, seemed to discomfort her a lot more then it did him.
Leaning back after his gentle preening, rowan inspected his wing again. Clean! Great.

At least his wing was clean now. Slowly, Magnolia's feathers began to return to their normal, non-pulled in state. Her underfeathers remained slicked to her body, though, for she was still mortally mortified by this whole experience. She straightened a little and nodded vigorously at his warning. "Yessir, won't happen again, I promise!"

"Hmm? 'Sir'?" Rowan smiles at Magnolia with an amused glimmer in his eye. "I'm certainly no 'sir', my name is Rowan." He was not about to let this accident mar his contact with this Sentinel and it was a silly thing, really.
"And I know it won't happen again, I'm not worried. And for the last time, I'm not angry." He sounds a little exasperated at the last part. "This was just a silly accident that merits no more discussion or hard feelings, alright?" He endeavors to keep his voice soft and manages to add a bit of reassurance to his tone.
"So, let's start over. Hello, my name is Rowan."

"Start over, yes!" Magnolia says, a bit of happiness coming into her voice. Her feathers were all normally placed again, though her breathing is still a bit ragged. She bobs her head winningly, hoping that the male is sincere about starting off on a new talon. "Hello, Rowan," she says. "I'm Magnolia." She feels a bit silly, but it's better than feeling embarassed.

"Magnolia, that's a pretty name." Rowan is hoping that complements will soothe her seemingly frizzled nerves. "What is your task, Magnolia? I'm a Watcher myself. At least for now. I'm trying to decide what I want to do, there are so many things to choose from."
Rowan's small Mus, not wanting to be left out of the introductions, walks boldly up and pats Magnolia's talon lightly before backing off. "Me Berr!" He calls out in a happy voice.

"Th-thank you," Magnolia stutters. She's not used to compliments about her name; it's just a flower. "Yours is a nice name, too. Rowan trees are lovely, especially in fall. I'm a Teacher; I tend to teach older fledglings who are getting ready to finalize a task. Watching's an important task- I've had lots of fledglings who go into that because they like doing a bit of lots of things." Blinking a few times, she looks down at the little Mus who'd just touched her talon. "It's nice to meet you too, Berr," she said, a teensy smile playing around the edges of her beak. "I've got two Mus myself, Steele and Dahlia, but they're not with me today. They're back at my nest."

"Huh... Thanks." Rowan had never had anyone complement his name before and his smile is genuine and wide for a moment before fading into a simple, companionable one.
"Maybe I should have gone to you for teaching. I'm not sure what task to choose yet, sadly. I kind of fell into this role for now. Not for nothing, I might stay in it... But still."
At her comment about her Mus, his eartufts perk up. "Oh, back at your nest? I bring Berr wherever I go. Keeps me amused."
Happy about the Sentinel being another Mus owner, Berr stands on his hind legs and smiles at Magnolia.

"Well, Dahlia's a bit of an old lady- I've had her for longer than I can remember, and she doesn't like traveling when she doesn't have to. I'm pretty sentimental about her, and kinda want to keep her around for as long as I can. And Steele's really new; I don't take him as many places because I'm always afraid he'll do something to get himself eaten." Magnolia's feathers rise a bit in embarrassment as she talks about her Companions. "I'd thought about being a Keeper for a very long time; I really like Musses. It's hard to choose a task, but it's more important to end up in one you like than just pick one in a hurry and be stuck with it."

At the mention of her Mus, Berr begins to run around and explore, wondering where they are hiding. Once he realises they're not around, however, he returns to his masters side, looking crestfallen.
"Oh? I was thinking about trying to be a Keeper myself. I love the little ones." He smiles down at Berr a moment, then looks up again. "But I still don't know... I just want to help the clan however I can."

"You're doing a good job helping just by wanting to help. That's the kind of attitude the clan needs," Magnolia says, a bit of a chirp in her voice. It makes her proud when her students put the good of the clan before their own personal preferences. It does her good to see what a considerate Sentinel Rowan is. "Keepers do an important task- if our Companions weren't well-bred and trained, they'd be of no use, and some Companions do very important jobs."

"Heh, thanks." Rowan smiles openly at her again for another flash before fading into companionable again. He glances down at his Mus before speaking. "I really do like this little one. What do you say, Berr? Would you like some playmates?"
The small Mus jumps up and down energetically for a bit and looks happy, small cries of inarticulate enthusiasm spilling from it's mouth. "Calm down" Rowan says, and Berr immidiately falls quiet and oiediently lies down at his masters talons without protesting.
"He's energetic, but obidient when I actually give him an order." Rowan grins and glances down at the Mus again.

Magnolia smiles at the Mus's antics. "You've got him trained well. I think they work so well in pairs- it gives them somebody to relate to. Y'know, I wouldn't mind talking to some of the Keepers, particularly the one who bred Dahlia... Just taking a look at stock, getting some training tips and such. Maybe we could go together?" She doesn't know why she asked or offered, but something compelled her to. Although the encounter has been rather embarassing, Rowan seems very nice and has put her quite at ease. Perhaps they could be friends after this little incident is over. And maybe doing something together other than cleaning a wing will make this acquaintanceship seem less awkward.

"Hmm? Sure, we could go. I don't want to inconvinience you, though. Berr, here." His small Mus comes running and climbs onto his back.
"I was kind of thinking about getting him a friend, yeah. Not sure if I could find someone as good as this one, though." He cranes his head and gently preens his Mus between the ears. Berr stays still while he does this, but looks happy both at the praise and the attention.
