It was thrilling and terrifying at the same time, sure he could probably survive a fall...not that he exactly wanted to fall...though he was sure that Keir wouldn't toss him deliberately he still couldn't be sure.
Keir shifted under the new weight, it felt weird he didn't care for it much but he was too interested in the fact he was flying. Flying was something he had wanted to do for a long time, and now that he was in the air he didn't want to come down.
Chath thought he heard something he looked back and noticed that Peri was waving at them. He leaned forward trying to speak to Keir as best he could.
"I think he wants us to turn around." He shouted into the wind.
Keir only growled as he heard his kid speak..he hated taking orders from anyone. Not that Chath was ordering him to land, he was only suggesting it, he gave another growling sound as he tossed his head a bit in annoyance and then reluctantly turned around and landed a bit..ungainly on the ground a couple feet before Peri.

"Alright, good job! Now, there's just a couple of things I want to cover real quick before you go. First off, though it may be hard, you'll have to take it nice and easy at first. He's got to build up those wing muscles and too much can cause problems. But before long, he'll be flying high and far." Peri grinned and quickly went on to the little lesson that went along with the day.
"The other thing is wind currents. The air's a lot like water, it flows in directions. Only, with air, different heights flow in different directions. There's also updrafts, which is a spiraling column of air that's traveling upwards. And downdrafts, which are basically the opposite. Dragons seem to have a sort of sense for which level of air is flowing in the direction they want to go as well as for the updrafts and such. "
"Any questions?"

Chath knew that he would try and get Keir to take it easy, but doubted he would be actually able to stop him from wearing himself out. He gave his teacher a wry smile as he slid down from Keir's back loving the feel of solid ground under his feet. It would also take him a while to get use to the feeling of the ground falling away.
The black dragon snorted at Peri in annoyance. He wasn't going to let some human tell him what to do. He did however pay attention about the wind currents although it did not look like he was paying the human any mind.
When the question was posed at them both the black dragon only offered a snarl and a shake of his head before looking away, Chath looked as if he was apologizing for his dragon's behavoir.
"Um..no..I don't think so...Um...how will I know if Keir had pulled something? He tends to be stubborn.."

Peri glanced at the black. Stubborn was probably putting it nicely. "Well, he'd start favoring that wing and would probably stop flying. Or, if he continued, would be using it less. He'd probably not have his wing pulled all the way to his body when on the ground. And he'd probably be in pain." Though how one could tell if the black was acting out due to pain rather than just acting out, Peri had no idea.
"Alright, then. That's all I have, so let's head on up!" He headed to the elevator to take them up to the top. Once at the top of the canyon again, he gave them a wave and headed off to the building.
