No, that's not logical. In Japanese, it's written Tetsusaiga (てっさいが) indicating that the sa syllable should be more emphasized as ssa. That's why it's pronounced Tessaiga. We don't use the Japanese writing system, so we ought to use a romanized system that best tells readers how to pronounce things. Writing Tetsusaiga is confusing if you keep hearing it Tessaiga--you start to assume that either people are mispronouncing it or it is being romanized incorrectly.
It looks like it's written Tetsusaiga (てつさいが) because in manga, the writing is vertical so it's sometimes hard to tell whether it's a big tsu or a little one--especially with how tiny they tend to print things in the IY manga.
