The announcement
Home. Never had it been so wonderful to be home. Breathing in deeply Riley smiled and looked around. Nothing seemed much different only the sun was in a different place to show that time had passed. Glancing down at herself she noticed only one thing different. A pendant hung around her neck strung along a silver chain. Picking it up to examine it she noticed that it was two foxes intertwined. An arctic and a red fox. How lovely. Stroking it over she remembered that inside this little relic rested a godlings soul. "Oh boy. This will be just great." Sighing she walked to the clinic to bring the animals home and to prepare to tell her family.
The house was full of noise. With Pandora's and Rayne's music blaring from their rooms, Mark talking to his friends on the phone, Damien yelling at Kia because she was annoying him and Kia yelling back, Ilyia playing with Nellie, and Dio's cries the house was full of life. Not to mention the noises from everyone's animals running about, fighting and playing with each other. Riley almost envied her husbands job. Then she happily remembered he had to deal with this everyday at work.
Finally the door slammed shut and in walked Sam. "Hey hunny." Kissing her on the cheek he watched as Innocent and Maniacal fought. "Everyone's home for once?" Raising an eyebrow he glanced at the upper floor where a loud thump and more yelling came from. "Yea everyone is home. Sam could you get everyone down here for me? I have an announcement to make but I have to stop Dio's crying." "Sure hun." Kissing her again he ran upstairs to round up the children. "Anything I can help you with mom?" Ilyia's cheery voice came from behind. Turning after calming little D down Riley smiled and put a strand of red hair behind her ear. "No Ilyia I'm good. Can you just make sure there's a chair for everyone in the living room and that Nell is situated in her high chair?" "Sure mom!" "Thanks, you're wonderful." Finishing up with Dio Riley walked into the living room prepared to meet her family.
Everyone was packed into the living room. Including all the pets. The only ones missing were Nightmare and the tigers who Sam had been firm on them not coming into the house. Every pet lay in their owner's laps snuggling against each other happily. Everyone was curious to why they were here for Riley never called a family meeting it was always Sam. "So....everyone I'm just going to get down to business no beating around the bush." Groans were heard from the older kids at the very annoying saying while the younger children merely looked on confused. "You're all going to have a new little brother or sister."
Silence. Never had the house been this quiet with all the kids home. Then everything burst into sound. "When were you planning on telling me this?! Don't you think we have enough children already?!" "I'm going to have another little sibling? Yay!" "Not another one!" "Another little brat?" "That's wonderful mom!" "Congratulation's mother." "Woo hoo." "He he!" "Now all of you sit down and be quiet! Let me finish before you go jumping to conclusions!" Hearing her yell everyone obeyed for Riley never yelled unless she had to. "Now listen up and listen good. Don't interrupt you hear me?" Nods went around the room and everyone stayed silent. "Good. Now I'm not really pregnant. This necklace of mine holds a soul. And that soul is the soul of a god or goddess. I didn't choose it, it chose me. So one day this relic will turn into a baby as strange as that sounds. You have as much say in it as I do. Since it's attached to me we have to keep it. You'll all be expected to take care of it and to help prepare for it. So that means baby shopping!"
After her speech Riley gave everyone permission to go back to what they were doing earlier. Pandora and Rayne went back to their music talking about having another little sibling to drag around, Mark and Damien split apart their two cats and silently walked back to their rooms. The rest of the children huddled around the living room talking happily on what the new babies gender would be and what to name it while Dio just giggled and happily cuddled Fluff. Sam slowly got up from his chair and wrapped his arms gently around Riley's waist. "Another one huh? And this time a little god......dess." "Yea I'm sorry." "Don't be. The more the merrier. Just no more ok?" Kissing him on the lips she wrapped her arms around his neck. "Alright. Anything for you."

When all had been bought and cussed over.
"I officially hate cribs!" Throwing down the piece of the crib she had been putting together Riley screamed in irritation. Sitting and watching in amusement Sneak and Razja watched Riley rant on and on. Seeing as their owner wasn't planning on stopping anytime soon Sneak rubbed against her legs hopping to calm her down. Stopping her cussing Riley gazed down at the fox and leaned down to pet her. "You've been awfully friendly with me since I got this relic. But then it may be the god or goddess of foxes. That would explain things." Sighing she remembered the multitude of pets that had followed her from the baby store. Dogs of different shapes and sizes, a family of foxes, and Kia had even seen a wolf.
Now the toys had been bought and the crib and clothes had been dug out from the basement. Feeling sad Riley remembered that Rayne, Mark and Pandora were moving into the upper part of the veterinary clinic she owned. Though they would still be around and would come over to help with their siblings now and again but they'd be taking care of themselves. Since Rayne was officially old enough to be on her own she was their guardian. "My babies are growing up. Soon that'll be you Dio. Much sooner then I'll ever be ready for." Giggling the baby looked at his mom and reached out his tiny hands at the air. Smiling at her baby the redhead kissed his head. All the children were at school and today was her day off at the clinic. Nellie was taking a nap and so she was all alone. Except for Dio and the pets.
Deciding that she was through with the crib Riley walked over to the pile of toys stacked up and picked up a toy from the pile. It was a cute stuffed canine. Smiling she placed it on a special place on the side table. That would be Faelan's favorite. "Faelan......" Running the name over her tongue she thought on it. "I like it. If it's a little goddess Faelan will be her name."
