The bright female giggled almost shyly at the compliment, scuffing paw in the dirt as she waited for him to eat the rabbit and rise. He looked weak, but she was sure that the food, some water, and rest would do him wonders. She wasn't inclined in the healing way, but her optimistic side wouldn't let her think otherwise.
When he was fully on his paws, she slipped to his side to press her shoulder to his, bracing him to help take a little of his weight. Not much, of course, since she wasn't a particularly large lioness, but hopefully enough to be helpful.
"You are quite a charmer." She said, chuckling. "Not like you need to do much if you can charm someone into helping out." Safi teased him gently as she prompted him to take the first step, knowing how far they still had to go to get to the water. She tried to take his mind off his body with her idle chatter, coral eyes bright. "Where did you say you were from again? I'm interested to hear how you got yourself into this bit of trouble."

Mito grinned. “A charmer, you say? I’m sure I haven’t the faintest idea what you’re talking about! I only say things that are true, after all.” He gave her a wink in return to her teasing, finding nothing offensive in the words. It was always nice to feel at ease around someone new. Some of the other character he had met in his time were anything but nice. Their unsettling natures always left him a little on edge.
It was a blessing not to have to feel so tense this time around. Making a friend only added to the joy of it all.
With her next to him, no complaints on that matter either, Mito slowly started to walk, large paws hitting the ground somewhat heavily. Luckily, though, he didn’t seem prone to stumbling around, so there was very little risk of his large body crushing the little yellow bird of a lioness.
“Me? Everywhere and no where,” he replied thoughtfully, “I’m a roamer. Tend to go where my stomach takes me. As for the trouble, well, sometimes I don’t watch where I’m walking. Stepped on something that was rather annoyed by it, I guess.”

Safi let her features curl into an expression of sympathy.
"I feel bad for the both of you... the poor thing being stepped on, and you getting a rather nasty bite." She smiled though, remembering that playful wink of his. She giggled softly, shaking her head.
"Maybe you should focus less on your stomach and more on your eyes, since your eyes will see trouble your stomach can't." She laughed, staying close to his side just in case he did stumble. She didn't want him to fall, maybe hurt himself again... though he looked like he was fluffy enough to cushion himself.
"I'm not all that different, I guess. I don't have anywhere to go or be, so I tend to wander as well... though, sometimes I do wish I had a place of my own. For times like this." She gave him a teasing look. "When I need the support of someone else."

Mito laughed. “I have to admit, I hadn’t considered the feelings of the thing I stepped on! I suppose it couldn’t have been very fun to get a big lion paw on your body. But when I looked down it was gone, so I imagine I didn’t cause it too much pain.” Now he’d probably be thinking about it for a while- he hated hurting innocent animals. Even hunting was a pain in the a** when it came to the guilt.
Still, he smiled. “A valuable lesson,” he remarked, “and one I learned very well, I suppose.” The hard way, as these things often went.
As they started to walk, Mito gave an agreeing nod of his head. “yeah. I have a den, but it’s pretty far from here. I tend to use it less than what should make it count as my home. Ah well, on the plus side we both get to explore. That’s a good thing, right? Maybe this is one of those situations where looking on the bright side of things is the best way to go about it. There’s got to be something you like about the wandering, right?”

Safi nodded brightly, keeping pace beside him till they reached the edge of the water and she could let him sink down to lay again. They'd probably have to stay here a while, at least till he felt able to walk a distance again.
Settling to sit, she made herself comfortable to wait for a while.
"Oh there are certainly a great many things I enjoy. And I do agree with you... its always best to look on the brighter side of things." The yellow lioness smiled brightly at the darker lion.
At least she'd have someone pleasant to pass the time with. That was definitely a brighter side.
