Alex-oh-Alex My school only has a concert band. Sadly no marching band sad It is because we are out in the country so there isn't enough people and we have only 1 music teacher and he already gives a lot of his own time on the music program so we are very greatful to even have band. So I guess Concert Band for me xd Yeah, same here. Concert is my default answer, because I haven't actually been in a marching band (a real one, at least). sweatdrop I do like concert band, though because the music is more complex and you can really concentrate on all the factors needed to make it beautiful. Oh, and I don't have to worry about whether the freshmen can figure out how to, you know, actually march.

Concert band for me. The music is so much more beautiful and epic... not that the marching band songs aren't epic, but the concert music just sounds awesome. Plus, I get better parts in concert band... playing half notes during the Final Countdown isn't the most fun thing in the world.

Concert band, we played tempest and I love it. plus im not stuck with all the susaphone players sayin "my sholder hurts" oh wah, if i complain i dont play so be it~

Marching band definitely. There's just no comparison. I love going to cavalcades and just the whole marching band experience is way better then concert band, but then again I do love playing timpani.. whee

I love marching band because you get to be up and active, and its really a lot of fun.
But then I also love concert band because that's the only place where you get to play real, challenging music by noted composers.

Concert band. My school's "marching band" is more of play in the bleachers at football games, and march at 3 parades throughout the year. Nothing fancy...If we went all-out and did those amazing things that real marching bands do, I think it would be a tough choice, but marching with a bass clarinet can be a bit troublesome...

Marching band is the obviously the best.
Reasons:
1) You get to go outside for a change of pace.
2) Exercise! Woo~
3) Marching music is usually more modern and fun.
4) Seeing other band members out of step makes you laugh!

concert band is my favorite because you get to dress up and go to band contests and festivals, but marching band is a fun change of pace.... so I really don't have one I prefer over the other, each has their own plus's but as long as im playing music thats what I love....

I was scared to do marching band at first, but I decided to give it a try and I absolutely LOVED it. I also have more melody parts as a trombone player in marching band music. So I think I would have to say marching band

I prefer concert band. I mean you show everyone what and who you represent. I mean you sit there , and play your heart out. I just love the way it works.
