"Hey.. wait, don't go in too deep right now."

With the darkness of the cargo hold, along with his frozen radar, there was no way for Blade to know if anything was lurking and waiting. Sure Raze was pretty well at ease here, and while he loved a good raid himself, he couldn't shake off the feeling that this was going all too well for the type of stuff that the Hover Cargo held.

For now, he remained where he was, listening to Raze, before freezing as he heard some static. His dark red eyes widened as he heard his cry, the shredding of metal, and then silence.

"Raze? RAZE!!"

s**t... We should have left...

The thief stared down the way Raze had disappeared off to. He readied the Command Wolf for whatever was down there, while trying to see if there were any signs of his partner. He wasn't leaving. Not yet at least. And not until he knew what just happened to Raze.

Only silence would greet the desperate call, though something in the shadows seemed to stir at the call. It was roughly the same size as the Command Wolf--but the eyes that flashed forward out of the darkness were anything but. A low, challenging rumble built in the metal chest of the hidden adversary, soon blasting forth in a full-on battle cry.

Whatever it was, it pulled back into the darkness--and the ruined Command Wolf could clearly be seen. Its head had been cleanly severed from its body, sparking and crackling from the damage. With the cockpit still tightly clamped shut, it was impossible to tell if Raze was all right, or even alive at all. A heavy scrape of savage claws, and another undulating sound of threat... The unknown enemy was beginning to circle closer and Blade might catch the sight of those glinting eyes again to his left before they sank back into the darkness once more.

Hearing something come from the darkness, Blade could see a pair of strange eyes in the distance. Narrowing his eyes, he gritted his teeth as it howled out at him. He still needed to try and see if Raze was still alive, or else he'd need to explain to the Boss just why he needed to abandon him here.

Slowly he advanced. The thing that shredded the other Command Wolf was still around, and if it managed to do this so suddenly, it probably was a formidable opponent.

Once by the head of the Command Wolf, he peered down to try and see if he could see Raze through the cockpit. As he did this, he kept his ears open, in case the thing in the shadows were to come any time soon.

"Raze, can you hear me?" he called down to the cockpit. Though if he hadn't left it already the guy might have been unconscious or dead.

For a moment, it seemed as though Blade's calls would again be futile. Without warning, the dismembered head of the Wolf gave a small and tired shudder as the cockpit made to crack open. The pilot was still strapped inside, bruised, bloody, and looking more than a little dazed. He looked half-conscious, rolling eyes eventually managing to land on the still-functional Zoid of his partner before he gave his head a violent shake. "D-Damn fool... Get out of here! The mission..."

If they both died in here, there was no way the Boss would ever know what happened. He struggled weakly against the safety harness, but he could lift his arms to unbuckle them. "Don't worry about me." Raze wheezed softly, seeming to choke on his own breath. "Just get going... before--"

The interior of the Hover Cargo unexpectedly flooded red, and sirens shrieked an alarm to signal that an intruder was on board. The rogue notably winced, shouting something furiously at the other pilot, but his voice was swept away by the din. In the chaos, it seemed as though the attacker had vanished, or was carefully concealing itself; there was no sign of it. Any second, and the Zoids from outside would begin to flood in from the opened ramp. Blade would virtually be trapped inside.

Gritting his teeth lightly at Raze's condition and words, Blade let out a sigh as the Hover Cargo seemed to go on full security alert now. And whatever had attacked Raze before was now apparently gone. While he didn't exactly like to partner up much, he also didn't really enjoy having to leave them, but here there wasn't much choice it seemed.

The guy looks like he's about to bite the dust any moment anyway.

After one more look at the other rogue, he nodded before turning the Command Wolf and quickly began to run towards the exit of the transporter. He was ready to fire at anything that might come at him. Though, if he had his Saix instead of this borrowed Zoid, he would have just been able to speed out of there quickly with not problem. And possibly slice down a Zoid or two along the way.

But that wasn't quite the case here.

Ratta-tatta-tatta-tatta--

Bullets sprayed at the fleeing heels of the Wolf, pounding against the steel flooring of the Hover Cargo. A few might have ricocheted off into the Zoid, but it would manage to escape virtually unscathed. But the hidden Zoid wasn't ready to just let Blade escape--the sound of something heavy hit the floor before the undeniable sound of thumping feet roared only seconds behind the fleeing other.

As soon as Blade would pass through the ramp, metal shrieked as the other screeched to a halt. It would not leave the transport, whatever it was--and were Blade to look, he might catch a glimpse of something decidedly azure and feline before it disappeared. Likely to deal with Raze and his destroyed partner...

Rev Raptors screamed a challenge as they raced to catch up with the Command Wolf, short but wicked blades extended. They'd veer in close to try and gouge him if they could, while the stumpy Molgas inched determinedly. They couldn't fire their missiles at such short range--not without wounding their own kind.

And somewhere in the Hover Cargo, a roar split forth amidst the chaos...

The Command Wolf received a few scratches to its armor, but nothing serious enough to deter it from escaping. Hearing something coming up from behind, Blade just pushed his borrowed Zoid to try and go as fast as it could until he managed to get out into the open. With a small sigh, he glanced behind as he heard whatever chasing him screeching to a halt.

He quickly turned about and aimed into the opening of the Hover Cargo, firing a few shots at whatever that blue zoid was before turning his attention to the rev raptors and molgas. The thief shifted his sights over to the closest raptors, firing at their chests in an attempt to buy him some more time.

At this point, he wasn't sure whether fighting them off or running would be the best course of action. Staying to fight meant the raptors were more of a threat for now, while running could mean getting blasted from behind by the molgas.

I knew things started off going too well. I still can't think of what the Imperial army is doing with all those custom zoids... and whatever that blue zoid was...

Whether or not Blade's volley of bullets had manage to hit anything or not was unknown--nothing made to surface from the shadows as the Raptors closed in. A strangled squawk emerged as one of the beasts went down hard after taking a direct hit. Another jolted as its shoulder plating was blasted up, sparks crackling as its system began to freeze from the damage.

The Molgas slithered closer, their legs pinioning furiously across the scorching sands as they opened fire with smaller, weaker gunfire. There were roughly three Raptors left among the slew of insect-type Zoids--if Blade was careful, he might be able to fight his way out.

Two of the dinosaurs banked, attempting to circle around the Command Wolf while one firmly planted its feet in front and screeched defiantly. Undoubtedly they would try to cut him from the sides, and if he turned, the lead raptor would be there to pounce.

A slight grin crept onto Blade's face for a split second as the battle began to heat up a bit. He wasn't so used to using a Command Wolf in battle, but it was his fault for getting mysteriously beaten up badly with his Saix awhile back anyway. Or maybe it wasn't. The memory wasn't clear enough to really figure that out.

The Wolf gave out a howl as it was taking some small fire. With that aside, the raptors looked as if they were trying to cut him in half in one go. Twitching a bit, he pressed forward, leaping ahead in an attempt to avoid whatever attack they were doing. Along the way, he fired a single shot at a molga. Those little maggot-zoids weren't doing a whole lot of damage right now, but it was bound to add up.

Maybe.. just maybe I'll be able to win this scuffle.

((My apologies on how belated this is. x__X))

Chck-chck--

The raptors seemed to halt a little uneasily as the Wolf leapt forward, but it was the sound of claws against metal that had caused their sudden wariness rather than the zoid's attack. Not that they had any reason to be wary. Reptilian heads twisted slowly as the pilots began to communicate before they sprang back, a path for escape now wide open. Snarls and hisses flying from gaping maws, the Zoids began to charge at Blade's heels, never attacking, but harrying his heels. Almost like they were trying to drive him out of the area, and quickly. Another roar boomed from deep inside the Hover Cargo, this one of sheer triumph. Whatever had attacked Raze was apparently satisfied, and was fully prepared to come after the other meddling rogue.

That is, if he didn't take an obvious opportunity when it was given to him.

((Its alright. o.o; ))

Glancing over towards the raptors as they sprang back, Blade saw an opportunity to flee. That aside, they began to hound him from behind. He found it a bit odd, as it seemed they were simply trying to drive him off rather than to take him down here. Even with this oddity, he didn't really think twice about taking the chance.

As he ushered the command wolf to run, he paused as a roar of triumph echoed out. This was most likely the reason why the raptors were trying to drive him away, as strange as it may be. And this most likely meant that Raze was gone for good now.

Gritting his teeth slightly, he gripped the controls of his zoid a bit tighter. He barely knew the guy, but he couldn't help but feel somewhat responsible for this. And a part of him wanted to go back and settle things with whatever it was that attacked them. The rest of him knew that now wasn't the time for it. So, frustrated with this situation, he pressed forth and continued to flee so that he could report things to the gang boss in one piece.

One day.. I'll get back at this thing.. somehow..

It was up to Blade now to report back to the one who'd hired him, seeing as his companion wouldn't be there to do the honors. The raptors paused after they were sure he was fleeing, opening their mouths and hissing defiantly. Not that they'd been very successful in battling the single Wolf, but that was another story.

Almost surly now, the enemy zoids withdrew into the shadow of the Hover Cargo, guarding it fiercely now that the intruder had been driven off. Not that they were much help, but whatever that thing inside had been...

As Blade would approach the rogue camp, a battered looking Shield Liger would stand its ground, apparently the lookout of sorts for their return. "Where's Raze?" The pilot demanded, a girl in her mid-teens. She was trying to sound tough, but her voice threatened to quiver a little. Obviously the other pilot had been important to her.

Seeing how he wasn't being pursued, Blade was able to relax some as he made his way to the campsite. Though the period he could do that was relatively short lived as he would soon have to deliver the news of the investigation... which included what happened to Raze.

Sure enough, as he approached, the pilot of a shield liger came up on his screen. The thief caught the faint quiver in her voice, causing him to lower his head a bit. He wasn't really sure what to say that wouldn't end up making things worse. But there wasn't any point in lying about it either.

"Something ambushed us in the Hover Cargo..." he said softly, "I'm sorry.. there wasn't anything I could do.."

Shifting slightly, he let out a small sigh before looking towards the actual camp. He could tell this wasn't going to be very easy just from this.

The young face would recoil in shock from the news, a few strands of light brown hair spilling from the bandanna she'd so carefully wound about her head. An ambush... She didn't need to hear anymore, knew instinctively what that'd meant. Any raid could be dangerous, but... She ducked her head a little, teeth gritting together to suppress the wave of emotion that threatened to break her. It wasn't this guy's fault, not at all, but if there was any way to have him and Raze trade places, she'd have done it in a heartbeat.

"The boss is waiting for you." She managed to choke out and cut the connection, refusing to let herself look weak in front of anyone. The liger would slowly shift out of the way, giving Blade full access to the rogue camp. The boss would be waiting at the furthest end of the camp, chewing on a piece of stale bread while staring musingly at the makeshift fire they'd made for boiling water. His Zoid loomed silently nearby, a powerful and well-cared for Dibison.

He was a big man, scruffy and tanned, his dark hair and even darker eyes giving him a stern and rather menacing complexion. They lifted silently to stare at the returning Wolf--and narrowed upon realizing it was missing its companion. That didn't bode well at all.

There was no hiding the way the girl reacted to the news. With a sigh, he cast his eyes away before slowly making his way deeper into the camp towards the gang's boss. Blade wasn't entirely certain how this would go, but hopefully it wouldn't be too bad.

Once he was close enough to the man, who seemed rather displeased or wary in the least that he had come back alone, the thief opened the cockpit and hopped down to the ground.

Then, somewhat hesitantly, he walked towards the big man and spoke up. He felt a little nervous, but he managed to keep his cool in the least.

"What do you want to hear about first?" he asked.
