Walking the path slowly to make sure that they were going the right way, his gaze drifted from side to side as his ears listened to the rain that poured over head. Small drops were indeed seeping through the leaves and needles to drip down atop him making the old stallion shiver with each spot. Brr, it was getting cold as snakes of mists had started to appear within the trees. The air within the trees was somewhat warmer then the air outside them and mists were rising from the ground. Some snaking up like hands reached for anything they could reach for, to touch and perhaps drag into the ground. Stopping a moment, Shihab raised his head and sniffed at the air, it was certainly crisp here as the air was growing thick with mist.
"It's getting dangerous out here." He muttered as lightening lit up the foliage over head and was soon followed by thunder. "Even as close we get, I think it'd be best if we find someplace to wait out the worst of this weather." He advised.
Glancing down toward Istas, Shihab soon looked around trying to find a good place to bed down until the storm passed. The intervals between the thunder claps and Lightening flashes were growing closer together and the mists between the trees was making it hard to see the ground and anything that could be laying across their paths. He also knew about those that used the cover of the mists and thunder to hunt and remaining in one place would be the best idea. Though most this he kept to himself as to not frighten the young one even more then she was.

As Istas walked with him, she had noticed the mist, and she paces around some, wanting it to go away. She moved in closer to Shihab with a little bit of a whine, before she moved under his belly, and went to his other side in hopes it be better over there. She looked up at Shihab, before hse went under again and pop out under his chest. She looked around some and whined again. "Shihab~.. its scary..." She blinked up at him and looked around again wondering what he was looking for.
She noticed something a little further ahead, it was some branches bent over each other. "Hey look over there." She nodded some. hoping he'd look. It was interesting looking... least to her. "The branches are bent over each other." She wiggled some, and inched back against him as the mist started to gt hire, and the thunder more often.

Lowering his head some, Shihab nuzzled against Istas when he could before she moved under his belly. His other wing stretched down to make another wall to keep some of his body heat close to her he looked around, stomping a hoof at the mists that rose around them. Wings moving at his sides and up over his back before pushing forward blowing the mists away for the moment.
"Scary indeed, but all it is is rising water in the form of vapors. Like clouds." He nodded before folding his wings back down.
Turning his head over toward the bent over branches, it looked good for a place to rest until the storm had passed. Turning a bit, he headed over toward the branches. Minding to not move too quickly so that Istas could remain under him. Reaching the branches he looked them over before moving to one side and placing himself on the ground beside the filly. A wing extended as an invitation to rest as well. It didn't seem he wanted to go any further then this at the moment.
"We'll rest here, the mists are only going to get thicker as we get closer to the river. I have a feeling that we are getting closer, but it's hard to see. If we kept going, we might just fall in and I bet the water would be cold." Shihab chuckled lightly.

Istas followed after as she had done before, and she wiggled her way in and rests against his side. "Really?" She would have to remember all this new information.. It was alot, she thought, Mist was water vapor, and the thicker it was the closer to the water they were. She repeated this over and over in her head. She looked around, but there wasn't all that much to look at. Only the rain sounded. It was different from when she was at the teepee, it was almost haunting to her. Istas whined a little, and moved closer into the older male. She was very glad at this point that he had come to help out. She could have gotten really hurt and would be really scared had she been alone. But all the worrying, and other emotions were making ht young foal tired. But she didn't want to sleep when it was like that out.
She laid her head on her hoofs and she whimpered some. her ears twtiching. "How long do you think it'll last?" She asked him.

Shihab folded his wing down as the Istas rested against his side, creating a small bubble of warmth against the cold that always came with the dampness. A shiver coursed through his own body, but his other wing shifted to cover his back the best it could while he remained watchful of their surroundings. His ears shifting as he listened to both the rain and what might have been sneaking around in it. Head raising up, something had caught his attention, but he made no real moves to see what it was. An ear turning lightly before shifting forwards again he knew the walk of this creature, his human had bonded him to it.
"Might as well come out Dao." Shihab muttered as a gold and white lion appeared from the bushes and mists. Indigo eyes looking at the foal beside Shihab before looking back up at him.
"The miss worries when you didn't return." The lion stated in Shihab's direction. "I had a feeling that you might have landed on your way home. And your path is very predictable, always the same."
The lion sat back on her haunches, unhindered by the mists that twined about her body like gray white vines, looking to bind her to the ground. Once more the lion looked toward the frightened foal that was beneath Shihab's wing, though gave Shihab a suspicious look as if her had been up to something behind even her own back.
"I'm sorry that I didn't make it. This storm came up quite quickly." He said calmly looking down at Dao whom had looked toward Istas. "And the young miss here was frightened and alone. Now you know I couldn't leave her out there alone." this he got a somewhat glare from the lion. "Dao..." Shihab's voice was firm as the lion rolled her eyes.
Dao sighed rolling her eyes at the older stallion as she stood and stepped forward the bush herself against him and soon curling around to lay at his back. She knew all too well of the stallion's kind heart and it was something that would get him into serious trouble if she wasn't there to watch his back.
"Yea I know, it would be like leaving one of your own out in the cold. Adelle wouldn't ever forgive you." The lion laughed as she stretched out the length of Shihab's back acting like a living heated blanket. It seemed like she wasn't about to leave just yet. "I might as well get comfy, Miss says this storm will be the worst of the season."
"Peachy." Shihab muttered under his breath before looking back at Istas, wondering of her reaction to all this. "You alright there Istas?" he asked her, having a sinking feeling that having Dao around would scare her even more then the storm itself...

Istas didn't notice the lion at first. But was when Shihab had started talking that she had become confused only to find that someone else answered. She had pushed herself in and tried to move away the best she could. Istas had never met anothre animal before, oddly enough. She froze when the lion looked at her, having no idea it was a lion either. And then when it moved out of her side her heart started to pound. It talked to the stallion about lots of thing that seemed jsut belong her young mind. Was it going to eat her? The voice was above her and on his back. Istas shook, her eyes darting up and then out into the mist, deciding if running for it would be the best thing right now... but she had no idea how fast this thing was...

Shihab nuzzled against the small filly as she seemed scared of Dao, well she had every right to be, not everyone was used to seeing a lion around so close and not really wanting to harm anyone. Turning his head back he looked toward Dao whom was laying behind him. her head on his wing that acted like a pillow. Her paws stretched out and her eyes closed as of she hadn't a care in the world. Looking back toward Istas, he smiled gently.
"You afraid of Dao?" he asked tilting his head to one side a bit watching her. "She's just a kitten really, eating whatever the Miss gives her and lost her instincts to hunt." He tried explaining to the filly to try and ease her fear that was washing off her and onto him like a tide.
Shifting his wings a little, one remained still under Dao's head whom only gave a soft huff before rolling over. The other lifted off Istas a bit giving her a bit of pace, though he hoped she wouldn't dart off into the mists. He wasn't sure if he would find her if she did and who knew what could happen. Turning his gaze away from the filly he watched the mists thicken around them, causing a fog where you couldn't see very far a head of your nose. Oh heaven forbid if he let the filly rush headlong into it and get hurt.

( I wasn't sure if I wanted to have her bolt or not, if she did; not to sure from there what I would have her do~ )
"D-dao?" She stuttered a bit. That thing had a name? But she zoned in on the word hunt. Roma talked about 'hunt' in sense of things be hurt and even killed. That thing that was right about her hunted...? She missed the rest of Shihab's statement about her being docile. When he lifted his wing some, it would give her a better change to get some speed going... But the mist had gotten thicker. She could run headfirst into a tree or get really hurt. Unsure of what was the lesser of two evil she looked up at the older stallions. hoping for some bit of relief. That animal in his back talked to him in a familiar manner... she tried to reason in less mature way in her head, so maybe it was okay, but he looked like it could eat her!
