Now that the boy's attention was on the other girl, it was the perfect time for Keahi to sneak away. She took a step backwards to turn away, but then stop. She couldn't leave the girl who had tried to help her. It wouldn't be right. There where times where she wondered why she would do something, and this was one of those times.
Taking a deep breath, Keahi told the boy, "No, she didn't speak wolf. She was just using words that you don't seem to understand. Maybe you need to pick up some books and start learning. Then you won't have to bug other people."

Keiran looked back and forth between the two girls, watching their lips move in succession but hardly paying much attention to the actual words spilling out of their mouths. The only word he caught was 'wolf'... which led them onto another train wreck.
"I wonder what a wolf looks like! I can't wait until I'm old enough to see one. I heard their really soft and fluffy, and that they like to bite off the fingers of bad people," Keiran stated matter-of-factly. Actually, he'd heard the latter from the Drill Sergeant, so it HAD to be true. Which is why he's always working so hard to be a good person.
"What color wolf do you girls want? I'm want a bright green one, like the grass when it's not covered in white powder! Or maybe pink, I really like pink flowers. I wonder if wolves like flowers? Do they eat flowers?"

Jashua stretched out, yawning. Yes, it was already almost noon but she hadn't been sleeping well of late, with winter coming on her past failures were starting to loom over her again. Shaking her head she steeled herself before heading back towards the food, she hadn't realized how hungry she was until she'd actually eaten something. Grabbing her empty tray she headed back towards the kitchen, only to find her path blocked by three people. As she grew closer it seemed more as if the two girls were trying to make sense of what the boy was saying. Well at least he seemed happy, moving closer she heard more of the conversation, including the boy's never ending flow of questions. "Wolves are marvelous creatures. So fluid and gentle, but so dangerous at the same time." Jashua found herself commenting, supplying information even if it was more of an opinion than anything else, "I don't think wolves eat flowers, but I do know that they sometimes eat grass to help settle their stomachs." Jashua smiled down at the strange, curious boy. Sometimes it was irritating, being 5'9" and a half, it also tended to bring to mind how old she was to still be in the academy despite everyone else. Shaking her head of the thoughts she she looked between the other two girls. "Sorry for interrupting, you just looked like you needed help. Jashua by the way, call me Josh. Anyone else looking forward to Firearms today?" She said, her expression mirroring her words with disappointment as she attempted to be friendly with the younger recruits. Note: Sorry, I guess I misread that.

Kaela slipped hesitantly out into the hallway cradling a tiny, raven-haired baby in her thoughts. She missed him so much... The morning sun slanting through a window would be lighting dark blue streaks in his hair that otherwise be invisible. Despite all the dark memories that sprang to her mind every time she thought of her child, she loved him, in a way that she had only ever loved one other. Every feature, every hair, everything about him was absolutely perfect, belying the utter imperfection that had conceived him. So unlike her life...
A flurry of activity and girls down the hall startled her, dragging her mind away from her child. As usual they all looked older than her, significantly enough that she was reluctant to join in whatever discussion they were having. She could not possibly have anything interesting to say, anyways. Quietly, with a meek posture not unlike that of a wolf demoted to the Omega rank, she attempted to walk by unnoticed...

Monica had been listening to the conversation and she came down the hallway. These people were loud! "I've seen a wolf before. My Grandpa Jim had a wolf, and she was pretty. She was the prettiest shade of silver and she had a red paw!" she got a bit bouncy at the mention of wolves, and she had only seen Dusty once before, when she was a young girl. But she cherishe dthe memory. "If I could choose the color of my wolf though, I suppose I'd want them to be a really pretty dark brown with silver fur and purple eyes... My mom said that purple eyes are magical, and they're a good omen! And since I have hazel eyes, they can become purple." Monica realized she was babbling, and covered her mouth with her hand. "Sorry."

Again he change the subject, it was kind of annoy. She was at least it was something she didn't mind. Her bright blue eyes turn to see that more people were joining them. She looked each one over carefully, and even said someone trying to sneak past. She has the right idea, she thought. She took a deep breath to keep herself calm. Keahi didn't really care for crowds, expressly when she didn't know who they are.
"It shouldn't really matter what they look like. You just need to work well with each other, plus it's the wolf that picks you," she told them. Of course, she did have of idea of what she would like her wolf to look like. She just wouldn't tell anyone that. Sometimes life needs to chose for you, and if she gets what she wish for all the better.

Keiran managed to stop talking long enough for the other girls to sneak their own comments in. He noticed the sudden gathering of people, which got him even more riled up with excitement - he loved large crowds. And if he had been a normal guy, he might've appreciated all the 'attention' from the girls. But everyone knows that he was nowhere near normal.
"Firearms?" he echoed as he glanced at Jashua with confusion. Then as if something (stupid) dawned on him, Keiran clapped his hands together. "You can throw fireballs with your arms? That's amazing! Can you show me how to do it??"
And Keiran might've continued on if the word 'magic' hadn't suddenly caught his attention. "Oh wow, are purple eyes really magical? Can they throw fireballs too??" he asked, talking more quickly with each word as the excitement got to him, staring intently at Monica as if doing otherwise would make her disappear.
A sudden movement to the side caught his eye and Keiran whipped around quickly, pointing a finger at Kaela. Lips spreading into a wide grin, he bounded over to her and leaned down to examine her light blue locks. "Ooh, pretty."

Monica grinned, and pretty much went into her silly moods, to match up with this guy. "Yes! My mom said her eyes were purple on the day she married my dad, when she was 18. She insists that was the best day of her life, made better a hundredfold because of the color of her eyes!" she said, and giggled. "My mom got married really young, because she knew my dad was her soulmate from the very first time they realized they liked each other more than just friends at the age of 14." her eyes became a bit distant and dreamy as she imagined what it was like for her mom.... She giggled again. "Me, I'm not really interested in love at the moment, I just wanna become a Wolfrider."

Okay, just stay calm and slowly back out of the crowd, Lyra thought as she tried to calm herself. She had begun to grow dizzy after the first of the others joined, and now she thought she might even collapse. Just stay calm, and lea- Lyra walked backwards into a chair and ended up falling back onto the hard floor while the chair landed next to her. She felt so bad, she didn't even try to get up, though she was still concious. She just laid there...

Kaela gave a sharp, frightened gasp as she was suddenly (in her mind) assaulted by a young male recruit. Having already been slipping along the wall, she now found herself flattened bodily against it. Closing her eyes in utter terror and turning her face away as he lifted a lock of her hair, she let out a beaten whimper of protest. Could they never leave her alone?
Through the corner of her eye she saw his face draw nearer. Beyond herself, she tore away and ran.

Several things happened at once and Keiran couldn't decide what to do. Monica's comment had him wondering about love, something he had never experienced nor even understood; then he started to wonder what it would be like to fall in love with a wolf. From what he heard, people who were in love got married and lived together for the rest of their lives. So since a wolfrider lived with their wolves all their lives, then they must be married to their wolf and thus love their wolf... right? Boy, Keiran was really confused right now.
But the sudden crash of a chair (and person) against the floor had him swiveling his head to stare at Lyra. She looked alright, she was moaning in pain or anything... Keiran quickly knelt down beside the girl with a curious expression. "I think she's sleeping," he decided after a few seconds, nodding to himself as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. "Is the floor really that comfortable to sleep on?"
Crouching on all fours to lie down as well, the sound of feet pounding against the floor caught his attention. Keiran snapped his head up and watched as Kaela ran away. Oh no, the pretty blue was going to get away! He jumped to his feet and chased after her. "No, come back pretty butterfly! Come back!!"

"Butterfly?" Monica said. She looked at Lyra, who was "sleeping" on the floor. "You alright?"

The pounding of pursuing footsteps drove Kaela into a near frenzy as she ran blindly away. The talk of butterflies and wolves spun in her head, frightening her for no reason but that of her fear. Glancing back over her shoulder, she caught a glimpse of the boy still following and collapsed, driven to a panic beyond her body's endurance. Her small frame shook with sobs as she drew her knees to her chest and shut her eyes tightly against the world.

Lyra opened her eyes at hearing Monica's question. "Yes," she said softly, barely louder than a whisper. Her back was quite sore, and was probably going to leave a dark bruise on her delicate pale skin. She began to get up when she saw Monica's odd expression as she gazed into Lyra's left light pink eye and right light blue eye. Oh no, Lyra thought, what is she thinking? Lyra got on her feet, but as she bended to pick up the chair she winced from the pain in her back and went back to standing straight, not knowing what to do.
