Tal looked up from where he was sat on the floor with a start when Mica burst back in. "Well that was fast" Taliesin would have to consider using that spell to motivate people more often, a pity females didn't prize any parts of their anatomy the same way males did. "Well I'm not ready just yet, it'll take a few more minutes to complete my preparations." Tal was going to hold up to teh bargain, he would let Mica keep the ring and use it as he wished, but adding on a spell to a ring with specific activation commands and time delays was no easy task, not to mention a disintegration spell wasn't an easy one to cast. and to top it all off he had to figure out how to activate teh ring, that at least would be the easy part, Tal hoped.

While Mica had been gone Tal had drawn a circle on the floor in an odd chalk that gave off a hint of a blue glow, around the circle were a number of runes and Tal was now in the process of finishing off the last. While working Tal had been thinking over Mica's earlier outburst over how badly he needed the ring, it was a sign of weakness, but perhaps a weakness Tal could exploit.

"It occurs to me Mica that once I teach you the secret to the ring and cure you of your enchanted crotch, there's no reason why you shouldn't kill me. So why should I not kill you and why should you not kill me? Because we're more useful to each other alive." As he spoke Taliesin finished the last of the runes and rose up, dusting off his hands and examining teh circle making sure all was right.

"What if I proposed an arrangement? You said earlier that you're in a precarious position in relation to the status of your House. You've also made it abundantly clear you're so magically inept you couldn't tell a wand from a twig. I can solve both for you, I'll teach you magic. You'll never be a mage, but there are spells written with an assassin in mind that could give you an edge. I'd also teach you some basics of spellcraft and the use of magic items. In return you'd instruct me in some of teh arts of assassination. In particular advise on the selection and use of poisons. What do you think?"

Tal bowed down by the circle to make a few minor corrections, then happy everything was perfect, turned to Mica, one hand outstretched. "The ring?"

Micarreth choose not to dignify Tal's comment with a reply. Fast or not, he wanted the effects of the spell -off- of him. He was not looking forwards to any sort of pain in that area, nor of having any adverse effects lingering. If he lost his ability to perform then Burryna would find him unacceptable. She'd still get him to complete her task for him, as she had Quavirra's death to black mail him with. Yet any hope of becoming more then a cast off son of a doomed house would be destroied.

Still clutching the ring in a tight fist, Micarreth pulled the door closed behind him and moved to the bed. HIs legs felt shakey from the run he had just made. Actually this was a sign he needed to practice more. He needed to be capable of running as long as he needed, and with a bit more dexterity and silence.... he would have to think of a way to incorporate some training for that into his daily routine. Maaybe a trip wire set up with bells criss crossing a hallway? Timed of course... That could work?

That was a thought for later though. For now he was looking with a good deal of distrust at the strange glowing circle. He wouldn't have been able to tell it from a summoning circle, a binding circle, or just a 'blow a big a** hole in the ground' circle. Tal's small uninterrupted monolouge played into his thoughts fairly well at that point. No...there was no reason for him not to strike out at Tal once all of the magic had been performed. Actually, that was what he should have been thinking personally. Just to get back at Tal for the humiliation he was currently suffering. Even if it was only the mage who knew, it was still a painful barb to his male ego.

Micarreths face twisted slightly into a disbelieveing expression. He was actually suggesting that they trade off knowledge? Micarreth had a retort. Sour and quite disrespectful. Yet he bit his tongue before parting his lips. He needed to think more before he spoke, Abyss! He just needed to think more period!

Learning what spells he could as a velguk would help him immensely. Being self taught obviously was going to get him killed, sooner rather then later. Plus, he was certain that not all assassins had magical knowledge...they only made use of magic in the sense that they carried magical items. That had, after all, been Mica's primary interest in Tal from the very start. All it would cost him would be a few lessons about poisons? Well...the knowledge was not uncommon....wait...some of it was.... SOme poisons were only known by assassins and some by priestesses and some by...well...there was a whole tome of poisons that Mica had barely even cracked into. It was how he had choosen the poisons he carried on him now after all. He would learn the poison lore more quickly if he had a real reason to focus.

"I think..." He slowly spoke while reaching forwards to hand over the ring to Tal. "... that might be a favorable arrangement..." Ugh. WHat he really wanted was this spell lifted off him! COuldn't the ring wait at least until he felt like himself again!?

Taliesin watched Mica carefully, it seemed that the boy was giving the idea some thought, that was something at least. Tal had feared Mica might reject the proposal out of hand, in which case Tal would have had to kill him here and now, or learn to sleep with one eye open in anticipation of Mica paying him a visit some night. When Mica agreed to the idea Tal smiled slightly, there had definitely been hesitation in his voice, but Tal had to start trusting Mica at some stage. "Excellent"

Taking the ring off Mica, Tal studied it closely, this was the first time he'd had the change to hold it and examine it properly. In a way it revolted him, an abomination that put everything he had in jeopardy, still the mage and craftsman in him had to admire the workmanship that went into the ring, he almost regretted having to destroy it, almost.

Putting the ring on, Tal's eyes slid half closed as he concentrated, a faint glow forming about the ring as he probed it's secrets. " Hmm... Purple Moonbeams?" Tal blinked for a moment as he starred at the ring then glanced at Mica. "Er, that's the command. Put on the ring, think or say the phrase 'Purple Moonbeam' and it activates" Taking off the ring Tal handed it back to Mica. "Give it a try, I assume you'll want proof I'm telling you the truth. Once I put on the disintegration spell you'll only have one other chance to use it, then poof. By the way how long is that particular job going to take you?"

Tal always imagined assassinations as quick things, you snuck up on the target, killed them and were away. At worst, whoever Mica was after might spot the assassin and a fight would break out, but with the ring annulling any magic, any mage Mica fought would be nearly helpless. After all mages spent there time studying books in a library, not swinging swords in a gym. The heaviest thing most Mages tended to carry about with them was a thick spell book or thick staff and running was something most did only as a last resort.

It was terribly hard for Micarreth to keep from holding back the urge to snap at Tal. His mind really was focused on one particular uncomfortable condition. He was doing well keeping his mind focused though. Perhaps all of his time lately had not been wasted? With the ring passed into Tal's dubious hands, Micarreth once more felt the depressing lack of control he had in the situation.

In his mind he had imagined something far different going on about now. Tal perhaps eager to appease him, offering even to do what he was bartering instead for. Someone that he could flash a smile at and in turn nudge into the direction he wanted him to go.

Obviously though he was not so skilled as all that yet. It should have been expected all the same. Drow were not a very easily manipulatible race. As suspicious as they were... Micarreth consoled himself that the fact he was going to come out of this alive meant something in and of itself. He would have to take some time to himself later and concern himself with re-evaluating his mindset. Methods, even his goals.

Micarreths thoughts distracted him from Tal for a few moments. His stomach was settling as he recovered from his run. He no longer felt shakey in the legs, though now he was wishing for a drink of water for his dry mouth. When it was that Tal turned back to him with the ring, Micarreth of course grasped hold of it firmly. This ring...it would mean a lot to his success. Though...

"There is no way I'm saying that phrase aloud. It's absurb." And humiliating and shameing! What in the name of the Abyss was that other mage thinking when he came up with the command phrase? Micarreth glanced over the ring and gave his head a slight nod. He did want to try it out, though he'd prefer it much more if it was Mas casting the spell at him. Well, he did not have that luxury right now did he? Slipping the ring onto his little finger, Mica twisted it about a few times loosely. Ugh..okay... Purple Moonbeams he thought to himself, and gave the ring a scowling little glare.

"I've tried the mental command part...now what?" He assumed Tal would cast some sort of spell at him. Ah...Hmm... If the ring negated all forms of magic...would it negate the spell that Tal had cast on him recently? Micarreth wanted to reach down and check. To feel if something had changed below. If it had then he'd be wary not to activate the ring while wearing anything magical that he wished to keep.

How long That was another matter to consider as well. Micarreth clentched the fist wearing the ring tightly. How long would it take? How long would he need? This job...it was not something he could rush through. It could take him a while just to manage to get through all of the defenses...

"Twenty four hours, at the very least. I am not certain even now if that will be enough time to work my way in to my target, much less to try and escape. I might be cutting it close. I won't know for certain until I master my training. The target could change it's agenda or protections between now and then."

Smilingin a way that beared teeth, Tal rose to his feet and pushed back his sleeves. Now what? Now for Tal to vent some of the frustration he'd been keeping pent up the last few hours. He really wanted to test teh limits of the ring and bring down everything he could summon on top of Mica, the only thing holding him back was the mental image of Mica standing untouched in a crater surrounded by the shattered ruins of the inn. They were in a pretty confined space and if Tal pulled out anything too big he'd risk injuring himself.

Standing in front of Mica, Tal held a clenched fist in front of himself and started mumbling a spell, with teh last syllable a green flame suddenly sprung up and engulfed Taliesins hand, giving off a bright emerald light. "This shouldn't hurt.. much." Tal quickly took a step forward and put his entire strength, what there was of it anyway, into a punch to Mica's gut. Standing back, Tal watched with slightly pursed lips, had the spell worked Mica should have been engulfed in the same green flames as they seared teh flesh from his bones, but nothing of the sort had happened.

"Well that should be proof enough, if the ring didn't work, you'd be writhing on the floor right now." Tal turned his attention back to the matter of the disintegration spell, kneeling by the circle he picked up the chalk and debated how much time to give, before finally scribbling some additional runes inside of the circle. "There... that should be enough time..."

Reaching into his robe, Taliesin pulled out a large but thin blue covered book. Placing it on teh bed, he riffled through teh pages until he found the one he wanted, all teh pages were similar in that they held the picture of another books cover with a short piece of text below it. Speaking a command word the image on the page seemed to gain more depth as it rose up out of the book. Effectively Tal had just pulled one spell book out of another.

Tal spent another minute or two with preparations, pulling various spell components out of pouches on his belt and setting them beside the circle, then rereading several sections from the book he'd just summoned. Sitting beside the circle with his ankles crossed and the book resting in his lap, Tal held his hand out to Mica again. "Alright, give me the ring and we can finish this up. Once I adjust the ring, I'll see to your 'little' problem." Tal couldn't keep the smug smile from his face at that last part.

Micarreth waited of course. When the green glow enveloped Tal's fist, Micarreth assumed it would be some sort of beam that he would fling at him. Or a ball of strange energy. ... What if he had lied to him? Mica glanced down at the ring as a sense of paranoid concern hit him. What if he had lied just so Mica would not put up a fight? His eyes lifted back tol, just in time for the punch to land nice and firm in his gut. "Tu-hou!" Micarreth gasped. Reguardless of the strength Tal may or may not possess, a jab to the stomach area of a unprepared young man was likely to have a over all good effect.

Micarreth wrapped his arms about his numb stomach. His lips parted by a desperate wheeze as he fought back rather effectively the tiny tear dropletts in the corners of his eyes. That had vithin hurt! But there did not seem to be anymore damage then normal punch..there was no additional pain or mind numbing agony. He recognized this about the same time Tal was informing him of the rings sucess.

He really wanted to kick him in the back of the head right now.

The result of the punch was fleeting despite how it felt to Mica. He straitened in short order, though his stomach still felt a bit tender. He was studying the runes that had been written on the floor, but they made no sense to him. His ignorance was going to prove to be a huge liability in his profession..so kicking Tal's head was probably a very bad mood considering the deal they had struck. If anything he should probably make a greater effort to appeal to the drow again. He needed to...know this stuff... And in order tog et a complete education he would have to keep from upsetting or anger the drow.

Vith. This was just as bad as with his last teacher. Micarreth did not care for instructors...even if it was that it was more of an exchange of knowledge then anything else...

Tal's request for the ring was answered just a touch relculantly. Twisting it off his pinky finger he passed it over to mage and waited. His face heating up at the small jab made by the elder drow over his damn spell.

"Just hurry up." He replied with his best effort to keep his agitation from his voice.

Tal did his best to hide his grin when he realised he'd managed to wind teh young assassin, either Tal didn't realise his own strength or Mica wasn't as fit as Tal had expected. Taking the ring he placed it in the middle of the circle. "Tsk, tsk Mica. I thought Assassins were all about patience, watching and waiting for the perfect moment to strike? If I were to rush this now, the ring could be turned into another stain on the floor."

With everything in place Tal started the process, casting a series of spells, pouring various powders and liquids over the ring at various stages. The runes around the circle pulsed rhythmically in time to Tal's on and off chanting, the spells getting slowly more complex as Tal's brow furrowed in concentration. The process went on for nearly ten minutes, until near the end Tal held up a small vial and ever so carefully poured out a few grains of a yellowish dust onto the ring. The circle of runes shone brightly for a moment as a dark aura surrounded the ring, as the aura and the glow of the circle faded Tal let out a quiet sigh.

"There, all done..." With a wave of his hand, the ring leped up and landed in a small cup of water, a jet of steam bubbling up instantly. Tal spent a few moments gathering up his pieces and putting them away before returning his attention to Mica. "Now then, the ring will take a few minutes to cool and you can be off. Oh! How silly, I nearly forgot the last part of our deal, I have a little spell to undo don't I?" Tal spoke in a slightly mocking tone as he got up off the floor and sat on the edge of the bed a very evil looking grin spreading on his face as he looked Mica up and down.

"Now then, undoing the spell is a little more tricky so to make things easy we'll have to remove anything that might get in teh way.... Like your clothes. Be a good boy and strip while I sort out the components?" Tal couldn't keep a straight face, in truth it was all he could do to stop himself laughing out loud.

Micarreth did not need, or want, a rebuking by Tal over his impatcience. Actually, the words riled him a bit. He could feel anger flushing his cheeks and causing the muscles in his jaw to clentch. If he said anything contrary to Tal's words, it would sound more like he was whining...so it was that he opted to keep his silence and let the mage work.

If he was having a hard time now just with his patcience. Spellcrafting would cause his head to explode. All those runes and ritual requirements. All the blasted waiting. He supposed that as a velguk he had his fair share of waiting as well. But...this was boring. Being a velguk was exciting. Abyss! Was he even going to manage to learn any of the spells Tal had more or less promised to teach him? Perhaps if he focused on how impressed Burryna would be with him...oh yes...that sweet and pleased smile.... That surely would help him keep focused.

He had to admitt the results of the spell shaping was impressive to a degree. Mica's anger fad with the bout of non-talking the two had. His eyes watched with growing interest the manner the spell was created, and making the ring jump...that was sort of impressive as well. Though...

"Vith! Yes you better!" He had not forgotten! How could he possibly! Mica's calm face once more flickered with a stormy and somewhat sulky visage. He rather wished Tal would stop using the damn 'little' word so much. ched as Tal went and sat on the edge of the bed, and honestly...he did not like the look of that smile in the least.

Micarreth had a good deal of sense to figure out that Tal was not being entierly truthful to him. As he did not know for certain though, he could not call Tal on any of his claims. Micarreth looked down at his cloths, his finger tips brushed over the front of his top and over the scarf that wrapped about his waist.

Well...Tal already knew about the blowgun tucked into the wrap around his eaist, so it would be no surprise if he removed that. The other items though he was just a bit wary about revealing. Not that he had much as of yet...

Yes...judging by the look on Tal's face this was just him making a good deal of fun at him. Just as the entier evening thus far had been filled with little comments. Micarreth ground his teeth together and began to unwrap the scarf from his waist. Twisting and pulling, he caught the blowgun in his plam before it struck the floor. Since he was not a fully equipped velguk yet, he had little to remove. The scarf he untwisted from his waist but he left it wrapped about his neck so it fell down his back. Of course he kept his shirt on.

"I assume there is no reason to take my shirt off." He grumbled as he shifted his pants down to the floor, then lifted and placed them on top of the chest along with his blowgun. No reason to remobe his boots either he assumed.

"Is that all?"

Tal had been watching Mica with an eager smile on his face, but when he saw that the young assassin wasn't going to go all teh way, Tal just shrugged and sighed as he waved his arms at his side in a disappointed manor "Well I suppose I could work with that, but I had hoped you'd be a little more enthusiastic about getting the spell removed. I even thought of giving you a reward if you were very cooperative... Maybe even tell you how much time the ring had before it imploded. But if you're just going to grumble at me, then I'll just hurry this along shall I?"

Putting on an appearance of being offended, Tal stood up sniffed then just pointed his hand towards Mica and cast a short spell. A faint aura built up around Taliesins hand then flickered off towards Mica, surrounding Mica in a pale glow before fading. "There, you should be back to normal in a few days, a week at most." Tal let a dark little grin spread over his face. In truth that was a pretty basic illumination spell, Tal hadn't really done anything, he knew already that the spell would ware off eventually, why not let the poor boy suffer a little more? It might teach him some humility and to have some respect for his mages.
PostPosted: Sat Sep 20, 2008 6:31 pm

Tal's dissappointment had been expected. Micarreth had wanted to dissappoint him if it were indeed that all he had wanted was to see Mica fully unclothed. Plus a part of him had been paranoid that the mage would have cast some sort of acid spell on his removed garments, hence forcing him to return home naked. He still had that concern, even as Tal made his dissappointment apparent with his gestures and sighs.

However, admid his unhappy grumblings there was something that struck the velguk. Exactly how long had Tal put on the ring? All he had said was 'that should be enough time.' That did not mean he had given him the full twenty four hours. Micarreths thoughts turned troubled as Tal cast his rather brief spell.

That had not seemed complicated in the least. If anything it had seemed very easy and uncomplicated entierly. Therefore, Tal had just been attempting to get him completely naked. His cheeks burned furiously by the time Tal's spell faded from him.

"A..what!?" A WEEK!? At the most!? But even a day was too long! Micarreth wanted it reversed now. His first instinct was to snatch out his dagger. Snatch it up and fling it as hard as he could at the grinning drow. Lloth be damned magic and it's uses! Micarreth would settle for the brief gratification of grinding his heel into the others throat so as to listen to the gugling blood as he hacked up his lungs!!

As quickly as the desire rose within him, Mica quelled it. Though it was not without difficulty. What was it about Tal that seemed to make him so angry so easily? Oh yes... It was probably that satisfied grin on his lips. The obvious look that, yes, yet again, Tal had the better of Mica and all he could do was stomp his feet like a angry rothe and bellow.

Fit's and anger and cursing and any other sort of ranting was not going to get him what he wanted. That being his restoration and the knowledge of just how long he had with the ring. It irked him immensely to be out played over and over again by Tal. Honestly though, Tal certainly had years more experience then Micarreth. It didn't make this any easier though.
"There has to be some way to restore me now." And he wanted to know how long was on the ring. Vithin mage. Mica fought to keep his jaw from locking up, so he could control his words better. "Please Tal. Is there something else you can do?" It was incredibly hard to be so..damn...poliet. Yet if he kept on letting his anger constantly blind him he would probably end up trying to hurt the other drow..and of course that would not work very well for him at all now would it?

Tal's expression could only be described as pure delight, seeing Mica on teh verge of bursting open with frustration and rage was the perfect way to end the day. After all teh trouble and the haggling, Tal wondered why he had made any concessions to teh young Assassin, he should have just done this and forced Mica to hand over the ring in exchange for being restored.

Tal was a little thrown when he heard the word 'please', that had been unexpected, Mica must really be desperate if he was willing to drop that low. Tal slowly started to contemplate how far he could carry this, how much would Mica do to be free of Tal's spell? Forcing him to strip was just to embarrass him, but now... What would Mica submit to, to get that spell off him?

Tal suddenly caught himself and refocused, chastising himself for letting his mind wander. Last time it was his lust that lead him astray and made him to trusting of Mica and got him into this bother, now he was going to let his lust dictate his acts again? No, Tal wasn't going to let that happen, he'd had his fun with Mica and the boy probably realised by now who was in charge. Besides forcing an assassin to lay with you wasn't conductive to a long life span.

"Fine... I'll remove the spell now, but you owe me one... Say killing someone for free or something? I'll even tell you how much time is on the ring, but that counts as the one act of magic I owed you!" Getting up from the bed Tal smirked again as he approached Mica. "I am going to have to touch you again, so behave and hold still."

Standing beside Mica, Tal pulled out a small pot and shook a fine blue green powder over the effected area, he then held his left hand just over Mica's crotch and started mumbling a spell. Taliesins other hand found itself resting on Mica's rear end, it was pretty unlikely this was just to steady the mage as he concentrated on the spell. At teh end, there wasn't any light or sound, just a tingling sensation across Mica's skin, then... Well Tal had no idea what the assassin might have experienced when his privates suddenly returned to normal.

Tal smirked as he stole a glance at Mica's restored anatomy before turning his back and heading back to the bed. "There as good as new. Better maybe, they do say we don't really appreciate what we have until we loose it?" Chuckling lightly Tal pulled the ring from teh cup and after a quick examination tossed it over his shoulder to Mica. "The ring is set to 30 hours, more than fair I think. With the tricks I'll teach you, I'm sure we can shave a few hours off your prediction anyway. A friendly warning though, once initiated the count down will not stop, even if you call off the rings effects or take it off. And once the limit is reached you'd better not be wearing the ring, or you'll likely lose the finger."

Micarreths tactic for controlling his temper changed to a simple thought. He was going to make him pay. Somehow, some way. He was going to get the better of Tal and he would repay him a hundred times over for every humiliation he had been made to endure. Of course, he had pretty much been intending on doing the same thing himself really. By taking advantage of Tal he really would not have been doing anything different. Micarreth was simply sulky over the fact things had been completely turned around on him.

Micarreth did not rtust his tongue enough to form a response to Tal's declaration that this was his 'owed magical act.' If he had said anything it would have most likely been along the lines of a insult. Besides... Sooner or later Tal would have to realize that of their previous deal... Tal was the one whom was in greater danger. Asking an assassin to share poisoning secrets with you? One little tidbit of misinformation and Tal could be blinded for life. Maybe he could use this. Maybe he would not. Right now Micarreth only knew he was too upset to make any definat plans concerning anything right now. So help him if his brother bothered him once he returned home!

He expected the mage would end up touching him again. The wrinkling of his nose was physical proof that he did not like the thought. However he did not protest. He did not even lean away as Tal came to stand so close to him. "Just...fix me." He found his voice rather quiet and calm despite the anger within. Perhaps he was getting better at this...it woud figure that he would need someone to get utterly riled at just to learn to control his temper.

Mica did of course twitch slightly when he felt Tal's hand behind him. Damn mage was taking liberties again. He supposed that the mage had warned him in a way earlier by admitting his attraction to Mica. Still, Mica found it hard to work with that. It was too soon anyways. Perhaps later...gradually...when it would not seem utterly obvious that he was attempting to manipulate the other.

Micarreth turned his head slightly away from the mage as he stood near and cast his spell. He could not even begin to realize his own relief when he felt the.... normality...return to him. His entier body just seemed to relax. He had not realized he had been so tense!

Mica's hands flicked up to catch the ring as it was tossed to him. He had not even had time to collect and re-don his pants yet. While Tal's back was still to him he shifted his feet over to the chest and began to redress himself properly.

"This isn't a job I can afford to make any mistakes with. I want to take my time simply to ensure that I manage to complete it properly and manage my escape." Mica glanced at the ring, and after a moments throught tucked it inside of his shirt. He was not going to wear it on the odd ball chance he accidently activated it.

"I thought you said you were going to put a disintergrate spell on it?" He had to question the mage. After all, he had changed his spell plans and Micarreth wondered just...why? "We need to discuss another meeting time and place as well if we are going to exchange information."

Tal suspected that Mica was already plotting revenge, that was a good thing. So long as the assassin was preoccupied with making Tal pay for what he'd done to Mica, then it was less likely the assassin would kill him. No, Mica would want to make Tal suffer first, then maybe kill him and that bought Tal time. So let teh young man sulk and rile against Tal and go off to plot, Tal was confident he'd be able to stay one step ahead.

Hearing Mica's question Tal turned and blinked at the assassin, rubbing his temple slowly with one hand. Perhaps trying to teach the assassin would be more stress than it was worth, still Tal saw a potential use for the young man if his skills could be properly... refined, perhaps? "I have put a disintegration spell on, that's why you have to take the ring off before time runs out or it'll dissentegrate your finger too... As for meeting again, not here, it's a pit. I've started making arrangements to set up a small workshop on teh outskirts of the market district. Once I've settled in I'll send word to you and we can short out appropriate times for you to meet with me. I'll need a little time to prepare your lessons, I know off the assassins spells, but not how to cast many of them. It'll take a little research to find the appropriate spells."

Tal also thought it would take a degree of trial and error to work out how smart Mica was, there weren't a lot of spells for assassins and they weren't particularly complex. Tal had mastered harder by the time he was Mica's age, but whether or not Mica had the intelligence to learn was another thing. "So any last words- oops, slip of the tongue. I had come here fearing one of us might not walk out the door again." Tals grin left no doubt who he thought was most likely to leave here alive. "What I meant was, anything else before we part ways?"

Micarreth checked himself over. His fingers expertly slipping through the length of his scarf as he cinched it tightly about his waist, then placed the blowgun back into it's hiding spot. His mind lingered on thoughts of the ring. If it would disintergrate whatever it was on, it made him wonder if it would be amusing to leave it out in the open somewhere for some unlucky drow to pick up. At the worst they would just put it in a pocket and it would vanish. At the best they would lose a finger. That thought did amuse Micarreth a bit. Maybe he could even pass it off to one of those bastards that had been getting uppity back home. The loss of a finger should not impact their skill too much right?

"I would not want to have lessons here anyways. It is too inconveinent and public." His eyes flickered over Tal as he mused on the knowledge of the mage creating a shop of all things.

"That is no reason to delay in the exchange. You can come to my House, since you already know who I am. There will be plenty of places for us to speak privately." He did not like the idea of being 'sent for' like some common servant. Micarreth may not be of one of the Great Houses but damn it he was still a second son of a established and monetarily powerful House!

Of course, with Tal unfamilar with the spells that he needed to teach Micarreth, he did have to grant some passage of time... "I too will need a bit of time, if nothing more then to gather the materials for examination." Ugh...How could he possibly ignore that little 'slip' of the tongue? Micarreths eyes narrowed in a very unhappy manner. He choose not to acknowledge even the 'apology' made by Tal. It irked him that the mage was so smug, and with good reason to be as well.

"I do not believe there is anything more we have to discuss. Not until we have gathered the knowledge to share at least." Micarreth gestured towards the door, indicating that the mage should exit first. He had no intention of turning his back on Tal at the moment...he personally was concerned as to where the mages eyes might drift and he was not in the proper mindframe to be eyed anymore.

Standing up Tal shook his head. "No my workshop would be best, it'd be far easier to set up the apparatus and magic circles needed for you tuition there." Tal would sooner go for a stroll in a Dryder den than willingly walk into Mica's house, at least he knew what to expect from a Dryder. Who knows what Mica might have in mind should Tal agree and give the assassin teh home advantage. Tal would be a fool to accept, admittedly he was expecting teh same from Mica, but Tal still had the advantage and hoped it would carry through.

Seeing that Mica expected Tal to leave first, the mage wondered if this might be a trick too? After all who in their right mind turned their back on an angered assassin? Still Tal smirked and did just that, his staff clenched tightly and ready to unleash death in a heartbeat if needed, but Tal hid any suspicions he had as best he could and kept up his smug expression as he left.

"I'll see you soon, my adorable little viper. Don't be too eager to check that everything is working, you wouldn't want to tire yourself out. Have a pleasant evening, don't stay up too late fantasizing about me."
