Her eyebrows lifted slightly in surprise at the mare's comments. They were not so different it would seem. Where the almost golden mare seemed to be choosing to become social once again Lycoris was trying to become solitary and was having a hard time with it. "Company causes many complications indeed..." She said solemnly turning her gaze away from the mare to stare once again up at the sky.

Her mind worked over numerous thoughts in a remarkably short amount of time. Thoughts of the distant and not so distant past; thoughts of the recent days she had spent alone; thoughts over the sky; thoughts on anything and everything really until her mind settled once again on the conversation. She had to agree that she had no idea how one person could speak on the weather more then once in a conversation. If they ran out of things to say perhaps but in cases like that she would opt to just stay in silence.

Her eyes flickered back to the mare as something dawned on her. They were not acting so differently themselves. They spoke of nothing really yet continued to talk. She wondered if perhaps she was growing annoyed with this meaningless chatter. If she was that really left Lycoris with only two options, stay in silence or change the subject. The unfortunate part of this being that she only knew one thing to ask and that often killed conversations.

Not wishing to send their chatter into a hopeless downward spiral she chose to remain silent and hope that Ashura would have something useful to say. If not she imagined she would simply do them both a favor and excuse herself. Manners were nice but there was no point at all in suffering just to have them.

Ashura had once been told that idle chit chat might have seemed tedious but it bridged the gap between strangers. Slowly but surely individuals would open up, topics would develop and eventually the creatures might find things in common. It was a matter of being patient and open minded enough to accept that not every creature was the same as you. Alas, when one creature met another and the opposing creature wasn't prepared to open up to this extent it posed problems. In a manner of speaking Lycoris was posing such a problem to Ashura. In terms of her behaviour the flower mare was acting more like a brick wall and provided no potential for further conversation.

Ashura was no social butterfly and as such she couldn't pretend to be. If the mare had nothing or no one to bounce off she simply couldn't talk. She had attempted to open up some form of conversation and in return she had been stared at. It certainly did no favours for her confidence... It had taken a great deal of courage to take the steps she had done, now to have them spurned in such a manner was uncomfortable. Admittedly the flower mare probably hadn't acted out of malicious intent but it still didn't help matters.

What was she meant to say?

Complications was an understatement, the mare could do nothing more than shuffle uncomfortably and release a sigh. It was at times like these that she dearly wished she had been like other mares, capable of chattering endlessly until interest was piqued. Unfortunately, she would always rely on the volleying of topics to pursue conversation and she too chose to remain silent...really, she didn't have any idea what to speak about given the flower mare seemed to be less than receptive in regards to any form of social encounter.

She was answered with silence.

Really she found she shouldn't have expected Ashura to fill the space with words when she could not. It was ridiculous to think that she would really be able to speak when nothing had really been said. With a small sigh she gave her head a shake before putting her full attention on the mare.

"It has been pleasant speaking with you despite the rather...awkward...beginning." She said a polite smile settling on her face. She was not lying when she referred to their conversation as pleasant. It had been rather short and perhaps a bit strained but she had not been yelled at or insulted that made it nice enough. "However, I will be heading off now. Perhaps we will meet again in the future and I will not mistake you for anything."

She bowed her head still wearing her smile. She did mean what she said. Lycoris truly hoped they would be able to meet again under less awkward conditions and perhaps then she would have something more meaningful to say. The thought of what this would require her to do took the smile from her face for a split-second. She would have to speak to more people in order to regain any communication skills. It was not something she wanted to do, however, she did not wish to live an entirely lonely life and that meant she would have to be able to speak at least some.

Trying not to think on the number of dead conversations this would likely lead to she smiled up at the tan mare again. "Goodbye, for now Ashura." She gave another bow of her head and turned to follow the river to new shelter.
