Hmmm...Never even considered it being just some extra parts. The owner hasn't decided what he wants me to do with it except restring it and replace the output jack. If it sounds better than my Yamaha I'll probably give him a few bucks and refinish it.

I'd say if you actually get the guitar, have some routing done and install a floyd rose, and maybe replace the neck with a carvin neck. That should give the pearly gates something to work on.

I like how this turned into a guitar thread. I own a Les Paul.. I won it in a contest at a job I had many years ago. It has since been given to my husband, seeing how I know nothing about guitars. All I know is he loves it and was shocked that I owned it.
Did the ebaying work out? (the post was kinda old)

The owner of the guitar and I haven't came to an agreement as of yet, and I'm a bit leery of putting it on until the bailout fiasco settles. Ebay seems to be a ghost town bid wise for the last week.

You see, I have never heard you say anything relative to what you would find inside a guitar. I bet you don't even know what kind of wood your guitar is made of.

Mainly because the configuration and type of pickups is what gives a guitar it's distinctive sound. Besides who would want to have to take it to the shop every time a string snapped or a pickup fried?
But for me the reason is pretty much the same reason why I build my own electronics, cars, bikes, and furniture. Because I can. mrgreen
