"Nice t'meet you all." Lar said, nodding to each. At the mention of Roland, Lar glanced down, and gave his son a warm smile. "Yah, picked him up a while back. Was a bit rough gettin' started, tryin' t'figure out what t'feed him an' findin' him a good place t'settle down at night, but we worked it out. He's a good kid."
"I'd like that a lot. Only brought m'little gun, didn't have room to bring any of m'rifles..." First, though, Roland would have to be situated. Lar knew very little about kids, but enough about guns to know that one going off in a child's ear would be very unpleasant.
Roland was beginning to doze - All of the scenery changes and new acquaintances had worn him out. Lar chuckled softly and removed the sling from his chest, made a few adjustments, and then slipped it around Tam's neck.
"Sit." Lar commanded, and Tam sat, shifting himself until both he and Roland were comfortable. "Stay, Tam. That'll do for now."
And from his belt he produced a pretty little number, a side loader black-finish revolver with a cherry wood grip. He grinned as he displayed it.
"Single action, but y'usually don't need more than one shot huntin', eh? Just tell me when."

Anya laughed, Rann smiled, Isaac nodded and Keres looked about in boredom. She was, however, the first to laugh at Roland's new 'carrier' situation, and she found it most amusing. Amusing enough, in fact, that she moved closer to Tam just to see how the small deer-baby was positioned.
"I'm sure glad Anya didn't try this with me..." Keres mumbled to herself. She peered down at Roland with a tilted head and large, gold eye. "How can you even be comfortable?"
All the eyes of the Sven were, however, fixed on the pretty thing that Lar now showed them.
"Well, would ya look at that!" Anya exclaimed, but it was Isaac who bent in closer. He wore a smile that was almost as giddy as a school-boy's.
"I mus' say tha' that's ah very fine looking gun you got there! I've got a small revolver in-laid wih' Alzint, but that cherry-wood is somethin' else," he commented in his slightly raspy, but soft voice. He opened his mouth to say something else, but Anya pulled him back by his shoulder.
"SO THEN, lets go shoot some cans? Yeah? We'll go over here a little -- Lar, you can go first if you like."

Roland sleepily opened one eye and turned it up towards Keres in response, then yawned, snuggling deeper into Tam's fur. He had one arm wrapped around Tam's neck, and the other between them, thumb still jammed into his mouth. The makeshift carrier stretched from one side of Tam's neck, down underneath his front leg, and across his back, much like how it sat on Lar's chest. Tam smiled at Keres, his tail beating a happy rhythm against the ground. He was used to helping Lar take care of Roland, and rather enjoyed it.
Lar beamed with pride, then situated himself beside the others, taking the safety off his gun. He glanced over the cans, chose a target, and then took a kneeling position to steady himself.
Ping!
One can now had an extra hole in it.

Keres stifled a coo in response to Roland's actions -- babies: they were a girl thing.
After she removed her hand from her mouth, she tilted her head the other way and watched him from that angle. She wished she could sleep like that... all comfortable even while pressed against a giant arse dog. Jeez.
Keres blinked and shifted her weight before she slid down into an up-right laying position. She still had to bend over a little to properly see the deer-boy, but no matter. She gave a small flap of her wings and then hesitantly brushed a hand over one of his ears.

"Oh bravo," laughed Rann, all in great humor of course. She soon raised her own gun and simply stood sideways, her arm straight out from her side. She released the safety with a 'Click', but a shot echoed and a can 'Pinged' before she could even pull the trigger. "HEY!"
Anya and Isaac both laughed, but Anya was the one who lowered her arm. "Took too long," she smirked, but then locked her weapon and motioned to Rann. "You can go now -- I promise I won't do a thing."
Rann glared, then aimed and fired with pin-point accuracy, the target flipping up into the air with a drowned-out 'tink.'
They were all insanely careful with the weapons they possessed however -- the three Sven. Each one kept their space from one another, and each one always watched the one who was firing. They knew the power of a bullet all to well to be silly.

Roland seemed pleased by this new contact, and, after a tiny yawn, reached out towards Keres with one little chubby hand. He still didn't know how her fur felt... And what about those fuzzy things on her back? He had never seen those before!
Lar chuckled at the banter, making sure to keep his gun's safety on until it was his turn again. Keeping his kneeling position, he stared out at the cans, choosing his next target.
"Y'all must go through a lot of cans..." He commented, glancing over at the other shooters with a smile. He liked these folks. Good shooters with good senses of humor - They were his kind of people.

The girl smirked -- her form of a smile -- and then followed the boy's gaze. "You like?" she asked and then opened her wings a little. She knew she wouldn't get a real reply, but that was no matter to her -- she liked talking.
"No one else has golden wings like mine. Nope."
Anya gave a laugh and shrugged her shoulders. "I guess so, but there always seems to be an endless supply at my work. Granted there are more beer bottles than cans, but whatever." She gave a brief look over her shoulder at Keres and the Roland-holding dog, smiled, and then returned her attention back to the adults.
"Where ya from, Lar?" Isaac asked.

Roland leaned forward as she unfolded her wings. Ohhh, those were neat! He giggled and waved his little hand up and down, bouncing in his sling. Tam winced at the movement, gently nudging Roland's hand with his nose, as if to say "Hey, ease up a little!".
Lar laughed, and then turned his gaze to Isaac.
"From here. Grew up a little ways west, t'wards the edge o'the forest... My pop helped me build a cabin deeper in once I was of age. That's where i'm settled now." He waited a moment to make sure no one else was firing, and then shot another can down.
"So, what about y'all?"

Keres let her smirk widen and then extended her wings to their full span. They were fairly large, but in n way would she ever be able to get airborne with them. She gave them a little flutter, which dislodged a some-what medium sized contour feather.
"Oops," she said softly as she watched the golden piece of plumage drift lazily through the air and land at her feline feet. She picked it up a second later and offered it to Roland, twirling it between her thumb and forefinger. "It's no very impressive... but it's soft!"
Isaac nodded as Lar spoke, his tall ears bobbing just slightly. "Cool, cool," he said, "'round 'ere's a much nicer place then where we're from."
"Oh what are you talking a bout, Isaac? Abruna's a gorgeous little country!" Anya exclaimed as she took aim and fired. After the gunshot echoed off into nothing, Rann blew a raspberry with her lips.
"I wish," commented Isaac.
"Oh I do too," replied Anya, a partial smirk on her mouth. She turned to Lar after she put the safety on her gun. "We're from a large country called Abruna. It's as lovely and peaceful as a nuclear explosion, to put it simply."

Roland's eyes widened, and he took the feather from Keres gingerly. He studied it for a moment, and then babbled to himself, bonking Tam in the face with it a few times to see how the canine would react. Tam just sighed. Looking pleased, Roland shoved it into the back of his sling. Now he had feathers too!
"Abruna, eh?" Lar tilted his head, a confused look on his face. "Don't think i've heard of it... Don't get out much though, so..." He shrugged.
"Why's it so terrible? Wars, bad guverrment? All of the above?" It didn't occur to him that the topic might be a sensitive one... Not that he would have changed his question if it had been, mind.

Keres watched as the boy bonked the dog about the face with it, and then laughed a little when he stuck it behind himself. "You've got one win now," she told him. She rustled one of her own wings, and then flapped them both lightly out behind her. "Ya need two though to fly... even though I still can't." She shrugged her shoulders and remembered that she had her headphones around her neck.
"Hey, you like music?" she asked, though she didn't expect an actual reply. She lifted the large, white, fat headphones off her neck and held them out for the deer-boy to inspect.
"I'd be a little surprised if you did, considering you said you're originally from here -- not many people in Gaia have ever heard of Abruna," commented Anya. Around her Isaac and Rann had fallen silent, so she just went on.
"But anyways, yeah, could say that it's All Of The Above. Corrupt government, civil wars, separate groups to overthrow said corrupt government, greed, illegal dealings -- it's a hell hole. Once you are in that country, you can never ever get out. Ever."
