Roxy listened intently as Klei spoke, and she enjoyed the small bits of similarity that was between the two of them. When Klei spoke of trust though, she felt a similarity that hit too close to home. Did something happen to Klei that made him not trust others? At this point she was very interested, since she had her own past mistakes and hardships that made her feel the same way. "Trust is a hard thing to find in this world, especially when so many misuse it and whatnot." she sighed somewhat as they continued walking, and she looked at him quietly from her own bright figure. There was no harm in questioning him, especially since they were having a light conversation. "Did something happen that made you not trust others?" she then asked, with a bit of bravery to her speech. Usually she didn't trend into other's realms of privacy, but she figured it was a simple question to ask. If Klei wanted to respond, he could. And if not, he could give her a short answer.
She wanted to chuckle lightly at his taking offense comments, and she grinned at him and nodded as if she had gotten his point. He had a similar way of reacting to others as she did, and there were times when Roxy didn't care as well. Her life had been a series of survival strategies, and her own strategy was to build a wall between her and others. It seemed as though Klei had a similar wall himself, and that was sort of comforting. Only because Roxy thought she was the only one in existence who had some doubts about others and those who inhabited the world around her. But she was hardly doubting Klei! That was also a nice thing to realize.
The mare then acted completely distracted as she noticed two V shaped trees. She quickened her pace to investigate them, and looked at the trail that went past the trees. "Oh! This leads to the stream! I can't believe we actually got this far." From what she had heard, the V shaped trees were the sign that one was getting close. "My step-uh... or the lady who raised me told me about this place." she then said, while ignoring the fact that she had stated something kind of personal. She was past that point in the conversation, at least. "I thought she was lying but I guess she wasn't!" Heh, even Betina had her uses it seemed!
Roxy then realized she was giving away a hefty nature secret to Klei. Did she trust him to do that? Well... she didn't -not- trust him. So she didn't see a problem in showing him something useful. "I hope this place becomes of use for you in the future." she then added, while watching the trail keenly. "At least I'm telling another smart creature something useful to make their winter days a tad easier." Plus... it was the least Roxy could do for having Klei hang out with her. She'd never experienced another putting up with her like he was, so she hoped she could help him somehow for giving her the time!

"It's not that trust is a hard thing to find exactly. It's finding the correct people to trust that's the hard part." Klei added right after. His tone hasn't changed much from what it was before, not that it meant anything, but shortly after he stopped walking again. Her question echoed throughout his head, 'Did something happen that made you not trust others?' That's a good question. As time goes by he finds it harder to find the correct answer to that question, or of one similar. "Not exactly," he finally got out. It wasn't the answer he was hoping or wanting to say but it was the first that made it's way to his mouth. "Let's just say that the result has named me Klei." How she took that was up to her. There really wasn't a quick explanation as to why he thought the way he did about trust. Maybe he'll tell her about it one day. When he finishes to figure it out himself.
She seems to have a lot of questions in her mind to ask. He didn't know whether he was happy or annoyed about that. A bit of both would be a happy medium. Though every question she asked felt odd. The questions themselves were not odd, they were normal questions, but how someone he has met only a little while ago was asking them and how he was voluntarily answering them was odd. Usually he ignores such questions by others. Probably because he felt they only asked them to make small talk or try to give good first impression. Who knows.
Klei kept his pace as he saw Roxy speed up suddenly, he watched to where she went and trotted after. "Did you find something?"
V shaped trees huh? he thought to himself after realizing that's where she was heading towards. "Don't be to quick to doubt yourself. You know more about this then I do. I'm following you." Klei lightly chuckled out, he found her reaction rather random and funny to be honest.
What was that? Did Klei hear that correctly? Did Roxy just make a little slip up? Klei was definitely going to prod a little fun at that. "Oh no you dont! You are supposed to think before you speak. Once you start you have to finish it out." Klei prodded. Now that he knew a step figure was involved he grew curious as to why she didnt finish the word, but made it 'lady' instead. If Roxy learned something from her there shouldn't be any shame in saying about her. "Usually ladies who raise others have titles. Step-uh is hardly a title." he smirked. Eh, he wasnt expecting an answer but it didn't hurt to poke at it. "Well there you go, helpful information. Next time you see the lady who raised you you should mention that." He nodded.
"Use?" Klei repeated as he tilted his head. "I will make sure to remember this place. I'll make sure to remember the entire route as well actually." Klei peered around where she was standing to see if anything was around that he needed to make sure to remember. Though a think she said got his attention again. "Compared to a not as smart, or more blunt, stupid creature?" he asked after her comment. Klei then kept turning his attention to Roxy then their surroundings, similar to as if they were being watched. Obviously they were not it was just that he was making sure he knew his surroundings well enough without making it seem like he was ignoring what she was saying.

The stallion's answer to her question was much different then she expected. And in turn, she wasn't sure how to respond to his statement. His name had arrived because of it? By her own curiosity she wanted to know more, but she knew it was important to respect the stallion's personal life. If he wanted to tell her then she'd be happy to listen. But if not, she'd understand as well. "Well, either way, you are welcome to rant about it if you'd like. I don't mind listening." she wiggled her ears a bit and wondered if she sounded embarrassing. "I know things can be tough in life so hopefully whatever happened wasn't too bad."
Indeed, she did know a lot about tough times. But she had survived herself, and from the looks of things so had this stallion. It amused her that he brought up her 'slip up' so easily. In a sense Klei had handled the situation rather nicely. The fact that she didn't have a family may have been awkward for other listeners to hear. But Klei didn't seem phased at all. If anything, he only enjoyed the situation for her mistake! Roxy had to admit, he had a damn fun personality. "Fine fine." she finally answered, with an amused grin on her face. "The 'lady' who raised me was my step-parent. I suppose that's the correct way to say it. She found my basket lying around and decided to help me out!" Or save her, rather.
To this day Roxy had no idea what had happened in her basket days. Was she abandoned? Not wanted? Left for as fodder for the other Kalonas? In terms of family, she HAD found an uncle once. He was amazing to her and she was thankful to have someone connected through blood other then Betina who had saved her. "My step-parent was amazing so I suppose I should state her name with respect and clarity." she then added, while smiling at Klei warmly. "I guess a part of me was embarrassed to admit it at first, but really I should just be proud." She would work on it, and know she had someone out there at least. Poor Klei might have been alone. She didn't even consider that as a possibility.
She then noticed that Klei was making a huge effort to remember the area. This sort of thing amused Roxy, and she watched as his head rotated back and forth frantically. She could tell he was a roamer, he was making sure to notice every detail that he could. She did that sort of observing quite a lot herself! "I'd be happy to give you directions again whenever you need it." she then said, while keeping her eyes forward. "Perhaps I'll make another trip with you sometime." But, that would all depend on if Klei even enjoyed her company!
So, to change THAT topic rather quickly, Roxy was pleased to see that the hot spring was indeed coming up ahead. "So to speak of the devil, we are here!" Her face brightened up from the two trees that appeared in front of the hot spring, and she led Klei inside and around the area. The steam was resting all around she and Klei, and she was overjoyed that they had made it! "So, shall we go in? I promise you'll love it."

His ears flicked to her words. "Things are always tough if you think about it." Klei nodded as he looked to the sky. "But enough about a dreary subject yeah?" he simply said as he titled his head. Klei knew he'd soon grow depressed, which would only turn his attitude harsh. Now wasn't the time to be sour. "To leave you with some ease it wasn't as bad as you are probably thinking."
"Step-mom." Klei said with a serious expression. "Unless your parent was secretly a guy you can safety say 'step-mom'." he continued, flipping his expression around to a more cheerful one, as if his previous never happened. So she was let to fend for herself on purpose..? That could be the only possibility right? Why would there be a basket by it's lonesome if not for a reason? Even though Klei had no clue what it would be like having to care for baskets, leaving one to fend for itself was just plain wrong. "I'm sorry to hear that you were left alone." Luckily there are ones who actually care about other life to come save those who need saving.
"It's a good thing that you were found." Klei nodded before chuckling. "Sometimes it pays to be extremely bright!" Unlike his mainly dark colors, mane and tail possibly being the only exception, all over Roxy was eye catchingly bright. No one could miss colors like that! "You're lucky that someone amazing picked you up when they did. Who knows. You might have been found by a not so amazing new parent." You never know what might or could happen. It's best to take things as they come and pray for the best. Thankfully for Roxy she found her new parent amazing! "No no, I can understand why you'd think it'd be embarrassing.." turning his head away, "I know I'd be embarrassed to admit something like that.."
Klei had noted and put into memory enough of the area that if he wanted to return he could probably do it. He knew if he did attempt to make the trip again he'd simply re notice things he noticed before, so not much pressure to get everything into memory now. "That would only be if we ran into each other again. It's not like I could just call out in need for directions and you'd come out of nowhere to aid me." he replied with a smirk, even though she was facing forward. "..One may never know."
Before he knew it the smell of the steam filled Klei's nose. The steam itself was surprisingly relaxing as is, causing his eyes to close. "Hmm..?" Word broke the relaxing silence that distracted Klei for that brief moment. Should he go in? Klei never thought that far. He didn't even know if the spring existed let alone what to do once there. Turning towards the spring itself he stared at it. Never being at a hot spring before he childishly began to wonder if it was actually really hot. After all, the steam could have formed because it was cold out so it could have just been the reaction in temperature different between the two. Walking over towards the hot springs edge Klei pawed at it's surface.

She rather liked his concept of moving on in their subject matter and she grinned while listening to Klei's words some more. It seemed like the both of them were much more comfortable from their first impressions, and she appreciated the stallion's patience with her. If he hadn't of calmed her down from her apple fiasco, she never would have met such an interesting stallion! If anything she could consider him a friend at this moment, and that was a first time scenario for her heart. She prayed that she would keep things as pleasant as they were, and hopefully the hot springs would sooth them both even more.
Roxy noticed the stallion's curiosity with the water, and she giggled lightly while sticking her own hoof in. "I promise that you'll like it." she then said, while making her way into the water. "It's definitely warm, but if you make your way in slowly you won't get too hot or anything." Within seconds she was resting and standing comfortably in the water, since it was shallow enough to where her neck stayed out. "Water like this will soothe your bones and relax your muscles. It will revitalize your nerves and make you feel great." Yeah, hot springs were the best!
She greatly appreciated his words about his step-mother, and it seemed he understood her before anxiety well. She felt somewhat surprised that he was so generous in his words, and she smiled lightly with a flush in her cheeks. Klei was much deeper emotionally then he probably thought, and she wondered what he went through in his youth. "Hearing you talk about situation makes me thankful for all I've been through." she smiled at him genuinely and realized that even with the bad memories, things were good at her current moment. "My step-mother has done so much for me, and I should speak of her with the same respect and pride she does for me. Thank you for showing me that." In truth, she'd never told anyone about such a personal issue. Now she felt much more connected to someone, and she leaned against the spring's edge with bright pink cheeks.
"You are plenty bright yourself!" she then added, while flipping her tail in the water. "I was able to find you from a distance, so I believe we both have a color curse." But hey, at least they were both unique in their markings. Some would consider it a gift rather then a curse, though Roxy wasn't sure which she preferred better!
"I feel like you understand many of the twists and turns that come with life." she finally said, while gazing her eyes upward and noticing the bright skyline. "What kind of childhood did you experience, Klei? If you don't mind me asking." There was something that made her want to know more about the stallion. It was really his choice if he wanted to share, and she knew that after asking the question. But she still felt confident enough to try, and that was a new sensation for her to understand!

((Well that turned out a lot longer then I thought. XD))
The water rippled as Roxy broke the surface. Klei's faint reflection was distorted more as she continued into the water. The water that touched Klei's hoof turned a darker shade of blue as well as damped the surrounding hair. "Assuming I like hot water that is." He answered back as he looked up to face her, only to turn back towards the water shortly after. He prodded the water again with the same hoof, debating within himself if he really wanted to go in or not. He knew that if he went in and came out again he'd be freezing, or at least cold. Eh! What's it going to hurt? The worst that could happen is that he gets sick. Ah he'll recover quick enough from that. He listened to what water like this does to you, that spiked his interest. Relax your muscles huh? he thought to himself. Because he runs so much there's many times he comes home exausted and sore; more so in the colder months then the warmer ones. Maybe he should make a habit of coming here when he's feeling sore if the spring really works like Roxy said it does.
He straightened himself up and took a few steps to the left along the water's edge before finding a spot where he wanted to get in. Slowly dipping a leg into the water he felt it's warmth dampen and soak into his leg. This really is warm.. He was a bit taken back by how warm it actually was; still not convinced it was natural. Not long after, into the water his other legs went. His tail aimlessly floated on the surface behind him, which he noticed and oddly thought was amusing, so he swayed his butt from left to right to make it move. Making his way deeper, his tail rose higher and higher. He watched it the entire way, a bit disturbed by how it was slowly disappearing into the water it was floating on the deeper he got. He eased up on his legs so they were bent, causing him to sink a little, and he floated there. "I had my doubts, but this really does feel nice..." he finally admitted.
As he floated there he closed his eyes and began to relax. His goggles began to fog up but he didn't care; one, his eyes were closed so he didn't notice and two, he was too relaxed to care at the moment. Even in his relaxed state his attention was still fully directed towards Roxy, his ears were open to whatever she said. "Well you should be thankful shouldn't you? From what I can tell you're pretty happy with where you are now. So what's not to be thankful for?" Half of the time when he spoke he had his eyes partly open, the other half they were lightly closed. "You didn't need any showing, you were just afraid to say anything about it."
Klei chuckled at her line about them both having a color curse. "That was because it's light out! I blend more in at night. You stick out during both day and night! What do you have to say about that?" he threw back as he lightly kicked the water to direct his floating in her direction. Usually one would try to fight for the 'I'm better' side in a debate but Klei was doing the exact opposite. It was like he'd rather be known as darker and harder to see then brighter and more noticeable.
"I'm just using common sense for most of what I say..." Klei had replied not long after Roxy spoke about understanding the twists and turns of life. He doubted her statement to be true in his case, but he probably didn't even know. He figured he just always knew things. A period of silence went and passed before Klei chose to speak up again, opening his eyes and looking in the direction of the tip of his nose. Not usually does some wonder about his childhood and not many mention it more then once. "I guess I could say my childhood was a normal one...? Or at least normal in my terms. Had a dad that was awesome, a mother that I never saw eye to eye with, an aunt who always sided with my mother and a grandfather who wasn't always completely there. I never spoke to him because he kind of freaked me out.. Oh, and my aunts child. So I guess I could add my cousin. Kinda a quite. I think she was scared of her mother.. hell if I know." He felt he might as well break down who he lived with before saying anything further, it anything else at all. Less confusing that way.
((I'm actually going to quest them eventually. :3 Or at least try to quest some of them. XD; *will probably fail* ))

(( XDDDD! No worries <333 Oh, and I figure we'll make a few more posts in the hot springs and then I'll make Roxy have to leave or something. Then she can promise him that she meet him somewhere, or something! I will make it work XPP ))
Roxy was quiet as Klei tested out the environment. She could imagine how strange the whole thing was for him- it wasn't every day that someone brought you to a hot spring! Even so, it was amusing for her to watch him test everything out and try and understand how it all worked and felt. The best part was watching him get in to the water, and watching the sheer satisfaction that arrived on his face! Yep, he was definitely comfortable! Roxy had nothing to worry about at this point! "Well, I'm glad you are happy with how it feels." she then added, while dipping her nose into the water for a moment. The temperature was wonderful- and Roxy kept herself alert and awake so that she wouldn't ignore her friend at all. She had invited him to the hot springs, so it was her duty to stay alert! Plus, there were other reasons to stay awake too.
When he responded to her sticking out at night comment, she could only giggle rather loudly towards him. She always wondered WHERE her color came from, and it was amusing to try and figure out why she was so darn blue. "Ok, well my color is definitely the cursed one then." she then added while winking at him lightly. "You obviously have nothing to worry about if you blend at night!" Man, he was much luckier in that way then. Roxy had to always hang around in darker areas so others couldn't discover her. "I think my coat becomes even brighter at night. Well, when the moon is out at least." she thought about it for a moment and sighed with a laugh. "Its awful, I am very easily spotted!" And most of the time she didn't want that!
She was happy to quiet herself as he spoke about his family members, and her eyes watched him with a usual bright energy as the words left his mouth. So, his childhood was a good one? From all of the detail he was giving, it sounded like he had a lot to keep up with! "It sounds like you had a lot of family members to keep you busy!" she finally said while smiling with a nod. "That must have been fun!" Though, where were they now? She hoped that Klei could see them again, but she didn't want to bring it up because it might have been personal information for the stallion. "I think it would be fun to see what you were like as a colt." she made a goofy face while trying to imagine it all. "Hmm, were you are mother's boy? Or a tough father's son?" Hey, it was always interesting for her to hear that stuff!
She felt a light tiredness come over her eyes, and she shook the feeling off and stood up in the shallower water to wake herself up. She was sure Klei was confused at what she was doing, so she decided to explain it all for him. "Hot Springs can be dangerous, since naturally we'll want to fall asleep in them. That's why its good to have company- so the talking can keep someone preoccupied and fully awake." Plus, they had cold air to mesh in with the hotness their body was taking in. "If you get light headed I recommend standing up, since it will help you fix any urges to pass out or anything! Hot Springs can be dangerous for that reason!" And man, she didn't want him passing out or getting hurt in any way!
(( You shouuuld quest for some of them o: !! That would be awesome!))

((Haha kay! 8D Sorry this took months. ;; I originally had this reply saved somewhere but lost it and I didn't have my computer for pretty much the entire month of March. XD; *had it for tiny increments at a time between bringing it to get fixed 2 or 3 times*))
Klei's ears flicked back and forth from the sudden burst of loud giggles. "I have to agree with you on that one. I don't have to worry about things as much at night." He meditated the though. Mmm.. being able to move around at night without worry is always good. It's better to sneak around then. He broke from his train of thought, "We'll have to test that then. If moon light makes you glow you'll always be a great nightlight." He smirked as he glanced over Roxy's body, pondered if she literally glowed and how that would even work. What would that even look like? She is awfully bright on her own, her glowing would make here even brighter. "We'll just have to teach you how to blend in more. Either that or your only alternative is having to wear a blanket over you the rest of your life." Klei chucked.
He remember that he found it easy to sneak away from his family at night. Though because of his white mane and tail he had to always get them muddy first. Because they were his parents they made sure to particularly keep an eye out for that. "Family... Busy?" He thought back for a moment. "Fun?" He let out a stressful sigh. "Whether or not the word fun describes my family best depends on the day and the weather." He kicked the water again, changing his direction of floating. He drifted closer towards the side of the spring. He felt if he stayed in too long he'd get wrinkly or pass out. After all he doesn't like the heat; hot water he can enjoy a lot easier then hot air for the most part. Everybody has their limits. Limits... "Like.. half of my family is fun. If you are able to catch them alone, without two or three other family members present, that is." It was rare that you'd find any one of them by themselves now that he thought about it. They where usually in sets of two or three; and he never understood why that was. Klei was the only one who didn't mind being by himself. Or at least he was probably the only one who'd go anywhere by himself by choice. Klei turned back and tilted his head at Roxy. Mother's boy, tough father's son..? "I wouldn't say either to be honest. But then again usually family and friends categorize you like that." He kicked again changing his direction once again back towards Roxy. He was totally a tough father's son.
Klei watched as Roxy move about. That's true, he never thought about the danger that hid within something as relaxing as a hot spring. "Don't worry, I have no intention on falling asleep in water." he said as he rose slightly and nodded. The top of his head was dry but the tips of his mane were wet therefore sticking to the sides of his neck. "Ugh." He shook off, trying to loosen up the clumps of wet hair so they dried and left his neck alone. "I'll probably be getting out soon anyway." He was dreading getting out of the spring. He knew he would be freezing and his tail would get dirty due to it being wet and long. As he turned towards the closest edge to climb out of he fully submerged himself under water one last time, kicking at the the bottom. When he came back to the surface he was closer to the side then he was before so he took that opportunity to climb out. The air around the spring felt much colder then it was prior to going in. He stood, frozen, for a brief moment before shaking off. Water droplets were flung everywhere. His tail was still very damp but his mane was much drier. The markings on his body were darker then the ones on his face due to them being wet. "Ugh.." he grunted again.

(( Never worry dear =p ! I am sorry for taking so long myself >> ))
She supposed she could cover herself up. Klei did have a good point, and she laughed at his suggestion while flicking some wet hair out of her view. "Well if you ever see me in a blanket or something, know that your advice was definitely worth it." She took a moment to close her eyes and relax again, realizing how much fun she was having with Klei. Who would have thought that from their first few moments again that they would become such great friends? Funny how the world worked! Even the most stubborn could have a good time. She and Klei must have been stubborn enough to hang out together.
She was quiet as she spoke of his family and what was fun or not. Family to him seemed somewhat stressful at times, and she wondered if that was hard. It was nice to hear him open up about it at least, and she smiled at him as he kicked back in her direction. "Well, you should understand that you are a lot of fun Klei! Regardless of if some of your family members raised you to be. You are definitely someone who brings fun with them without even knowing it. I am thankful that I have spent this time with you and learned so much myself."
She felt a bit flustered from the heat and made her way out of the water as Klei did. "Yeah, it is probably a good idea to get out for awhile." Once she had stepped out she shivered for a moment but then shook some water off of her body. The cool air felt kinda good, since she was starting to feel a bit overheated from the water's touch. Her ears flicked when she heard his many 'Ughs' and she made her way closer to him. "Are you alright?" she hoped so! He looked a bit tired but still as sturdy and strong as ever. "I hope the springs were relaxing for you. If you take a nap in a little while I promise you'll wake up all rejuvenated!"
Heh, speaking of which. She wondered if it was time she let Klei go, since she didn't want to keep him any longer if he didn't want it. She wasn't very good at reading others, and she was always nervous about interrupting other's days. "I really really had a good time though." she finally said, while glancing at him and watching his eyes. "Can we do this again sometime?"
