He shivered as his face was touched, his eyes flicking up to gaze into Calum's. Shaking his head, he unwrapped his tail from Calum's, "It's okay, though...it gets pretty cold here...so..." He watched Calum and the basket for a moment before sliding his gaze to his guitar case, running things over in his head.
Soon, though, the smells distracted him and he slid his gaze over to the basket, resisting the urge to dribble. Though he noticed the box, it didn't seem of any signifigance, so he just stared into the basket, his stomach growling.

Calum frowned slightly when Syd's tail unwound from his, missing the contact instantly. His tail slid after Syd's to wind around it as he began removing the lids of the food.
Container number one held chicken fried rice with small pieces of chicken and carrot mixed in. Number two held chopped up pieces of beef covered in a sweet smelling sauce. Number three held noodles mixed with various veggies, lightly covered in soy sauce. And finally contained number four held several chocolate and vanilla covered strawberries.
He reached into the basket again, pulling out eating utensils and two plates. As he held a plate out to Syd he said, "Hope there's something here you like."

[lawl, chicken fried rice...I hate that stuff.]
Syd blinked, looking over to Calum for a moment before smiling lightly, wrapping his tail around his love's again.
He gazed upon the food a tad excitedly, his tail curling itself around Calum's. Bringing the wood down had made him rather hungry, and he figured he'd be eating dinner soon enough. He bit the inside of his lip as he stared at everything, all of them something he at least liked.
He nodded as he took the plate, forgetting about the song for now. "There is...it all looks good."

(I love it xD When it's cooked right anyways. >3>)
A quiet sigh of relief escaped Calum, he had been worried that there would be nothing the other male would like. Except for the strawberries, he scooped a little of everything onto his plate. He popped a piece of beef into his mouth and stared at the other male, pondering something. After swallowing the beef he asked, "What's you favorite type of food?"

[Yeah...my dad thinks his is the best in the world but it makes me gag. I guess restarant kind is good. Mmn...I want some chinese food now.]
Syd, like Calum, scooped a bit of everything on, except the strawberries, and he fondled it a little with his fork while Calum spoke. Plunking in some noodles, he thought while he chewed, shrugging while he swallowed, "I don't know...I like Italian food, and, well, British food. But dessert wise, Icelandic is the best." He then took some beef and chewed it while thinking again, "Though," he said, swallowing, "I like pretty much any kind of noodle, it doesn't matter where it's from." He sighed, happy with the food, it was good, and it was a nice change, because Niraj and him were too lazy to cook, and all Kranky knew how to make was sweet stuff, so he'd ended up eating out a lot, and this was definantly the best meal he'd had in a while.

(I like to sprinkle it over almond chicken and stuff xD)
Calum mixed all the food together on his plate as Syd spoke, his ears perked as he listened and ate. He scooped up some veggie, noodles, and beef and popped it into his mouth. Gears in his head turned as he tried to recall if he had ever seen or heard of any Icelandic dessert. Nothing popped up. After swallowing another bite of his mixed food he asked, "What's Icelandic dessert like?

[I want some fried shrimp.]
Syd curled his tail around Calum's affectionatly, smiling slightly as he took a bite of some rice and beef and chewed, swallowing and shrugging again, "It's good, a lot of dairy based stuff, pudding and cakes and fudge and stuff like that.. The food is good, but, it's a little hard to get past the smell on some of the stuff. When I was a kid I hated icelandic style shark, because it smelt so gross, but when I ate it, it tasted good. It tastes nothing like how it's smells." He smiled, "But this is a lot better."

(mmm, shrimp)
Resisting the urge to lean against his love, Calum took another bite and curled his tail with Syd's. "Shark? They eat shark?"
He looked down at his plate of food, wondering what shark would taste like. Sticking his fork in some beef and veggies, he popped it in his mouth. Maybe shark tasted like fish...he shook his head. He swallowed his food and said, "I'm glad you like it, and I'll pass your compliments onto the chef...if he doesn't make any wise cracks when I get home anyways."

[-drool- I want popcorn.]
Syd nodded, chewing on some rice, "Yup." He said, swallowing. "It's quite a process...I don't want to gross you out, but, well, they don't exactly...you know...fresh."
Syd listened to the sounds around him and he munched on some noodles and veggies. He listened to Calum and smiled, laughing a little, "Heh...wise cracks.." He mumbled akwardly, his mind turning back to his song, hoping Calum would like it.

Calum scooped up the last of the noodles and veggies and stuck it in his mouth, chewing and swallowing as he set his plate to the side. To full to get into the strawberries yet, he slipped an arm around Syd. "Not fresh? What? Do they serve it rotting?"
(I've actually read about how that shark dish is made xD)

[it seems delish.]
Sydney grinned, also eating the last bit and leaning against Calum after setting the plate aside, "Almost. They soak it in lye and leave it in a shed for a month or so. It smells like amonia, but, it tastes like...sort of like lobster."

"Lobster? Huh." Seemed odd to him that something like a shark could be similar in taste to a shark...Then again it also seemed odd that about ninety-percent of the world's food products "taste like chicken."
Calum shrugged off his thoughts and turned his full attention to the man he had his arm around. He rubbed Syd's side and nuzzled at his cheek like a loving puppy. "Full?"

Syd nodded, "Yup. You know whats also really good? Ginea pig. It tastes like pork but it looks like chicken...well...when it's done right, I guess.." He shrugged, smiling as he was nuzzled. He nodded, happily returning the affection. "Yeah, it was good." He flicked an ear and looked at Calum, "You want your present now?"

Calum's ears perked up and nodded eagerly, his mind dying to know what it was. His tail unwound from around Syd's slightly so that the tip of it could thump against the blanket.

He smiled, nervously, which was a strange thing on him, at least when he was around someone like Calum. He grabbed his guitar case, and, carefully making sure Calum didn't see the paper he'd scribbled all over, he pulled out the guitar, sitting and placing the paper in a way that Calum couldn't see the words. "I know this is a little...well, gay and corny but..." He sighed, "Well, bear with me. I never did good in creative writing."
