I really enjoyed the extended editions. I have a girl friend who didn't like FOTR, and therefore will not watch the other two films, but I still can't tempt her with the extended versions.
Although I'm still wondering what was up with Arwen's fate being tied to that of the One Ring. How does that happen?

Although I'm still wondering what was up with Arwen's fate being tied to that of the One Ring. How does that happen? Arwen's fate being tied to the One Ring? What? I don't remember that from the books. Where was that in the movie?

I never understood how that was possible. But... that still doesn't make much sense... Maybe they were trying to hint at how Arwen's love for Aragorn eventually leads to her death a year after his. Shortened life span and all that.
