God who doesn't want out of the US right now?

I want to go to Japan.
Nihong ga daisukidesu.
Kore wa america ga daikuraidesu.

I, for one, think the US is great, even if in a bit of a s**t hole at the moment.
At the same time though I think it would be awesome to live somewhere else...at least for a while. The four places I would like to try moving to the most are Japan, Germany, Norway, and the UK.
For Japan, Germany and Norway I would be learning the language naturally (already know a little Japanese and quite a bit of German.)
My Grandma is from Norway too, so that would be pretty cool.

Having been to three of the four (I've never been to Japan), though only to one for an extended period of the time, I'd have to say that weather-wise I prefer Germany, at least when I was there (early fall). However, so far as political ideals and values go, Norway is where I fit best.

As one of my friends put it, "Norway is a long, cold, dark country, especially in winter. Sometimes you find yourself asking where the hell the sun's gone, and if it's ever coming back. But it does. And when it comes right down to it, nobody ever leaves by choice."

I have an interest in all of those countries, though substitute Japan with France; I could never learn Japanese fast enough and properly nor do I really want to. I'd love to visit that place but living there has never really been on the agenda.

Germany is strikingly similar to Minnesota; The only thing it lacks is an extra month for winter and the right kind of accent.
