Nudeln was taken aback by this. Everyone else had taken her words so seriously, but this girl was opposing her, and saying stupid things! There was a burning feeling rising in the young girl's chest now. It was that feeling that made her do...
...this. Nudeln's head drooped, and her gaze fixed on her bloody knees. The burning, straining feeling that made her want to scream and cry and tip things over made her do those sorts of things. Amanae had said it was frustration. She did care. If she didn't...she wouldn't feel so horrible. She didn't want the girl to leaver her and play; she wanted the girl to play with her. To tape her knees up and smile, and ask to see her again sometime soon, maybe.
This new feeling was cold, now. Loneliness, perhaps.

Allete had started to walk away, but paused. She'd been expecting some sort of verbal response from the little girl and finally Allete couldn't resist it anymore. She glanced back at the girl and noticed that Nudeln seemed... sad. Her eyes also took in the kid's injuries. "How... how'd you get those...?" Allete asked in a quiet voice.

Nudeln grit her teeth, trying to force the cold, dark feeling away, but it welled inside of her like water gushing upwards, and she began to cry. "I'm so angry! So angry! I can't have the things I want! I can't have the things I need! I can't do or feel or say what I need to...and it makes me so-" Her voice caught in her throat, and she choked back more tears.
"I did them to myself. All of them..." Her voice lowered down to such a soft whisper. It held none of the malice that everyone was so used to hearing. The other children had long since begun ignoring them again.

"Why so angry?" Allete turned and started towards the girl, still not touching her, but at least showing that her attention was upon Nudeln. "Your mommy doesn't buy you things?" The girl gasped, however, when told that the girl had done the cuts herself. "Why? Why hurt yourself? Doesn't it make you cry...?" Pain hurt....

"She buys me lots of things, but she doesn't...I don't...have what I..." Nudeln collapsed onto her knees, overwhelmed with frustration and a loss of direction. She winced only slightly as her scarred knees hit the ground. "I don't have...what I need..."

"What you need?" Allete moved closer, kneeling beside the girl. "What's that?" Perhaps the girl's mommy just didn't know what she needed? That could be easily fixed, right?

Nudeln turned her head away. "I can't say...I'm just so frustrated. I want to be able to enjoy tons of food like she does...big roast with gravy and potatoes...barbecue ribs, huge bowls of noodles, fried chicken, piles of chips," She grit her teeth, "But when I eat, it's only tiny bits...and even then I don't enjoy it. It looks so good, and smells so good...but..." Nudeln's fingers furled and clawed at the ground. "I'm so...frustrated..."

Allete blinked at the girl, her own stomach beginning to rumble at the sound of all that good food. "Really? ... That's odd... Did your mommy ask the techs about it? They're kinda mean, but they do fun things every now and then..."

Nudeln grit her teeth as the tight, burning sensation arose again. "Stupid. One of my mommies was Abstinence; not eating or doing anything you enjoy." Her tentacles, which had been hovering grimly at her side, lowered a little at this.

"Oh." Allete hadn't heard of that one. "I has Sloth and Chasity as mine. I met Sloth... he's lazy." Of course she didn't mention that she was rather lazy as well. In fact, the girl had now sat next to Nudeln. "That's not fun."

"Chastity..." Nudeln echoed quietly, thinking about that for a moment. "You know Lust then?" She asked softly, raising her tentacles slightly to bring attention to them.

Allete thought for a moment, then shook her head. "No, not really.... Why?" She could remember the techs saying something about her and Lust, but that was some time ago. She couldn't really remember it now and couldn't be bothered to try remembering...

"Opposite of Lust. Opposite of me." Nudeln informed Allete quietly. "So you won't understand." Shuffling her body around slightly, Nudeln stood up once more. Her tentacles wavered slowly on either side of her, and her knees were red and dirty with gravel and blood.

"Opposite?" Allete stood and put an arm around the younger girl. "Maybe it'll get better? The techs said we'd get more things like our parents when we get older... maybe some things will go away too?" The child didn't really know what else to say. If food didn't taste good, what was the point of eating? She herself didn't eat much and that seemed to worry her mom some. But she just wasn't always hungry.
