Yeesha wasn’t used to being handled, but she didn’t shy away from the contact. Ana wasn’t hurting her, so she saw no reason to jerk her arm back. Besides, she wanted to see what her new green friend was going to do! Could she match her colours? She waited patiently while Ana concentrated, her tail swishing a little as though that would make the change come faster.
The alligator girl was just about to ask what she was doing when she changed. Yeesha gave a startled squeak and nearly fell of the tire swing. “You did it! It’th very clothe to me!” She wrapped her arms around the chains holding the tire swing so she could clap. “It’th very cool! I with I could do that!”

Ana beamed proudly, her concentration breaking and her color returning to normal. She'd never done one that complicated before! Sitting a little taller and puffing her chest out just the slightest bit, she could barely contain her jubliation. "I did do it, didn't I? I've never done one that hard before!" She grinned at Yeesha, "you must be a lucky charm or something!"

"I'm hard to match?" Yeesha looked down at her mottled green skin, before deciding that she already knew the answer to that one. She supposed if she tried to paint anything even close to the colours of her skin that it wouldn't come out even close. The fact that Ana could match her colours so perfectly was definitely a skill. "I'm a lucky charm? Well I heard green wath lucky, tho maybe it'th true! I have a green necklace I got for finithing my clath." She grinned proudly. "Have you done a clath yet?"

Ana nodded enthusiastically, thinking wistfully of the pretty necklace that was on her dresser back home. "I took a class with Mister Orpheus. He's the one that taught me how to change colors! You know what?" And Ana leaned a little closer to Yeesha, as if she were about to impart some great secret. Which, as far as she was concerned, was not that far from the truth. "I'm gonna get a dragon! Are you going to have a dragon too?" She knew not all kids in the world got dragons, just special ones. But Yeesha seemed special like she was. She hoped the other girl was going to have a dragon too.

"My clath wath with Mithter Orpheus too!" Yeesha wondered absently if Orpheus could teach her how to change colours the next time she was there. She would have to remember to ask him about it. He was a pretty nice adult, which meant he would definitely do his best to fulfill her request. When Ana leaned forward she copied her, intent on figuring out what they were going to talk about. If they were this close, surely it meant that it was a secret. "You're getting a dragon too?" Yeesha's grin widened. "Of courth I am! I'm getting a black dragon." She puffed out her chest, clearly quite proud. "They live in athid. What're you getting?"

"I'm getting a South American Amphitere!" Ana said, equally proudly, her own chest puffing a bit even as she tripped over the word 'amphitere' a bit. "They live in hot jungles and have feathers!" She was very happy that Yeesha was also getting a dragon. Maybe their dragons would play together someday! "I only saw the egg once, though. I want Vienne to take me back so I can see it again. I hope it's pink..." She paused for breath, then clarified: "The dragon, not the egg. The egg is green."

“Feathers?” Yeesha was quite confused. “I thought dragonth only had thcaleth! Thome have featherth?” She was definitely going to have to go back and ask that interesting man with the amazing green eyes about that. If she could get it, that was. Else, she might just have to settle for asking Jasper, who was her current adult source of information. If he didn’t know then it just wasn’t known. She would ask him, though, about this South American feathered dragon. She was quite curious about it now.
“When it hatches you have to come and thow me, ‘kay?” The alligator girl wanted proof that it had feathers. “I thaw my egg too! Long time ago, though, with my daddy. Not Jathper, he’th never theen it, but I drew him picture once.” The mention of her old dad made Yeesha frown, but she changed the topic fast enough not to dwell on her missing father. “The egg ith green? My egg wath black! Black like ink! I hope yourth ith pink too. Then we could always know where it ith!”

Ana nodded eagerly. "I'd like that! I don't know when it will hatch, though." She heaved a pouty little sigh. "I wish it were hatched now. Maybe our dragons can play together too!" She added, cocking her head as she heard Vienne calling her name. She chose to ignore it for the time being. Yeesha was much, much more interesting. "A black egg? Ooh, I bet that was neat looking! I've never seen a real dragon before. Have you?"

Yeesha nodded sympathetically at Ana's sigh. She knew what it was like to be waiting and waiting for a dragon to hatch. How long did they take to hatch anyways? Perhaps it hadn't been ready for her yet because of her scale rot. The alligator girl would have to ask next time she was at D-corp. "I'm thure they will play together! Even if they are different, 'cause we play together and we're different." She would make their dragons be friends if it came down to it. She could be quite pushy.
The alligator girl shook her head at the question. "Naw, I with I had though. It would have been really neat! If I thee a big dragon, I'll draw it for you and thow you! Then we can both thay we thaw a big dragon."

Ana giggled at the thought, ignoring Vienne's calls once again. "If I see one I'll draw it for you too!" She exclaimed, grinning. It would be so neat for their dragons to play together too. She didn't know what her dragon would be like, beyond the basics, but the prospect definitely appealed to the young chameleon.

"Okay! It'th a promith!" Yeesha grinned broadly at her friend and gave the tire swing another twirl. It was only when Jasper called her name that she forced herself to look away from Ana and over towards her "brother." He gave her a little beckoning wave, and she begrudgingly slid off the tire swing. "I'll make thure to tell Jathper about you! Tho then I can go over to your houthe later, 'kay? Thee you later!" With a wave, the alligator girl trotted off back towards her guardian.

Ana waved back at Yeesha, sliding off the swing herself. "I cant wait!" She called after the other girl, heading over to where Vienne stood impatiently.
