Serenity was great. Although there's at least one plot spoiler that I wasn't expecting... eek
As for Harry Potter, I've never read the books, and I've only seen the first film on TV (so it was probably hacked up a little for time constraints). It was pretty decent I suppose. I wouldn't mind seeing the others some time.

Books are better than the movies, of course. The movies tend to make a lot more sense if you've read the books.

Reko Books are better than the movies, of course. The movies tend to make a lot more sense if you've read the books. Yeah. But the books are getting longer so they have to cut out more and more from the movies.

See Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It's not in theatres, and hasn't been for more than a year, but it is really good. Go. See. It. Now.

Yeah, the Ace Ventura movies and Dumb & Dumber were almost too stupid for thier own good in a lot of places.
