Erelafay was focusing on the fight. She knew magic herself a great deal. But the magic she was really mastering was water magic. A magic based on an element. Therefore considered to be weaker by some. Although water was the strongest of all elements, the one which could not fully be canceled by the others. From the four elements, water was the most dangerous and yet able to bring life too. That was why the drow loved that element.

The dark blue hair girl tried to analyze the movements of the wizards. Their techniques, their gestures. She was trying to decrypt what was at the base of their magic. Nothing as insignificant as an element...but there was always somewhere for them to source their magic from. Her silver eyes were glowing strangely as she tried to understand. She decided to give up...for now at least. The only thing she noticed was that their magic was far closer to her moonlight magic than to her water magic. She was a daughter of the night and the moon and she was creating things which seemed useless thanks to her strange abilities, especially at night. But she had developed these abilities only by herself and therefore they were very weak.

She shook her head. Those wizards were displaying magic. Trying to create an ephemera beauty for the pleasure of the crowd. The magic she used had a purpose: helping or destroying, protecting herself or others... she was no artist...except maybe in the depth of the night when she knew herself alone... She sighed. The spectacle was impressive and beautiful and yet...so purposeless.

Erelafay decided to leave the arena, hopefully the rest of the town would be surely more quiet. Not wanting to disturb the mother and the child, she headed to her right. She excused herself to the blond hair young man when he spoke. 'One day, I'll know for sure.' She was not sure to have understood properly neither if he was addressing to her. "Excuse me Sir, what did you..." she started, slightly bending to him, as he was sitting and she was standing. The space was quite small and her cape got untangled, she lost balance and found herself ...on the stranger's lap. The light purple skin on her face taking a pinkish ton and her silver eyes puzzled in his blue eyes.

Kayel looked up, his vision obscured by what he was certain was the first drow he had ever seen. He took note of the exotic armour she wore, and the skin it revealed, a light purple in tone. It was clear that she was attractive, even if he hadn't noticed the looks she drew, Kayel found that, as mysterious as she seemed, he too felt his gaze drawn to her.
He lifted his eyes to meet hers, as she began to ask him a question. She must have stumbled or tripped and fell into his lap.
"Hey!" He managed, in surprise.
He noticed the slight colour change of her skin and realised her eyes were a strange, but beautiful, silver.
He leant back slightly, giving her room to lift herself up.
I'd heard that elves were supposed to be incredibly graceful... He remembered.
"Are you alright?" He asked.
Sudden movement, from behind the elf, made him try to grab her and lean sideways, against his seat. The image of the phoenix passed very low overhead, making other people that were seated nearby, duck. The pursuing dragon followed it soon after, its vibrant, amber glow amplified by the artificial night Dargo had made. Straightening himself, Kayel realised the foolishness of his actions.
"I'm sorry..." He blurted out, now he was blushing

Erelafay answered and starting standing up, very embarrassed "I am fine, thank you Sir, I just..." she did not get the time to explain herself nor to fully stand up as she felt his hand grabbing her waist and pulling her towards him. Already unbalanced, she did not manage to stay up and ended for the second time...on his lap...

She looked at him puzzled. His apologies and his blush...got explained quickly when she saw the magic creatures passing about their heads.

The anger which jumped to her mind when she felt him grabbing her turned into surprise. He was protecting me...!? Her silver eyes payed deeper attention to Kayel and she seemed to have forgotten that she was still on his laps. If before the incident, he had seemed rather normal, once on his laps, she had noticed his blue eyes, piercing, and his handsome face, twice on his laps and she had tasted the strength and softness of his arms.
Nothing to do with the rudeness of men grabbing her wrists to hope for her favors.

At least Erelafay stood up. She bowed gracefully. "Thank you. May I know the name of my savior?" she asked half serious, half joking.

((lol, a bit of potential romance is always good.))

Kayel smiled at her response to his clumsy actions. He quickly scratched a non-existent itch on his arm.
He felt a jab in his ribs and turned to see the burly looking man, that was sitting beside him, grinning, a few gaps marring his friendly and warm smile.
"You better answer that lass, young laddie, or I'll answer her for you!" With that, he slapped his large stomach and let out a hearty laugh.
Kayel returned his smile, finding the man instantly appealing, he reminded him of the men from the old seaside town he was raised in.
"My name is Kayel, the adventuring traveller. Pleased to meet you." He too, got to his feet and bowed, somewhat awkwardly. "And may I be so bold, as to ask for your name, oh fair maiden?" Kayel always found it easier to speak half-jokingly. It made him feel comfortable in almost any situation.

((Everything is in the maybe & potentiality, that makes the story more spicy... smile ))

Erelafay raised a first inquisitive and uninvited look towards the man. His smile was honest though and she relaxed softly. Plus the festive atmosphere of the games should not be ruined by such remarks. She turned back to Erelafay when he bowed quick strangely. She granted him that the place was small enough to be awkward. To his introduction and request she smiled, she could have laughed but she did not. Fair maiden...well fair enough, my skin is indeed fair for a drow...!!! she thought. Her eyes were laughing though as she spoke, laughing at her own pond, as stupid as it was. "Nice to meet you Kayel, I am Erelafay Kil'Ana."

The people sitting behind them starting raising their voice, asking for them to leave or sit. She looked at Kayel, not really knowing what to say. She decided that nothing should be added. She bowed again, but to take her leave this time. "Well, nice met. I wish you a adventurous travel, Kayel." This time she reached the end of the aisle without tripping and soon disappeared in the building.

From inside, the arena seemed roaring. Hundreds, thousands of feet were above her head. That was very impressive. She did not mind the darkness of the place but she felt much more at ease when she reached the entrance gates and ended up back in the streets. From the earlier movement and noise, nothing seemed left, as if everyone was in the stadium watching the duel of magic. Erelafay smiled. She preferred quietness.

Kayel apologised for distracting the nearby crowd.
I feel sick of all this noise already and the games have only just begun! He realised.
Instead of retaking his seat, he decided to head somewhere nearby, hopeful for a hot meal and a clean bed, he was still tired from the long trip to Molara and, although it was only the afternoon, he felt exhausted.
He returned to the city streets. Where he had struggled through a crowd, earlier in the day, he now had ample space to freely move about. His growling stomach reminded him of his intentions and he headed to an inn he had seen earlier, before he was dragged along through the sea of people, like a log caught in a current. He thought he saw another drow, or perhaps the same one, in the corner of his eye.
After turning down a few streets, and only getting lost once, Kayel stumbled upon an inn. It was similar to the one he intended to stay at, but his fatigue dulled his senses and he didn't realise. As he began walking towards the inn, he felt a heavy hand on his shoulder, jolting him out of his tired state of mind. He instinctively ducked and leapt away from the touch, turning to face it, as he did so.
"What's the matter, laddie?" The familiar laugh of the burly man unsettled him. "What's the matter, eh? Aint you never been in a quiet alley, without help nearby, with the sun getting low, and two strange men nearby?" Again he laughed, the sound had a menacing tone to it that he hadn't noticed in the arena.
"Can't you count Laurus?" Asked another rough looking man that stepped out from behind the burly man's back. The appearance of the new threat revived Kayel's awareness, he drew one of his Blades, hanging by his side. "You said there was two of us. I counted three, aint that right Aleck?"
Kayel was knocked over, by a painful kick from behind. One of the men jumped on his back, whilst another drew his other sword from its scabbard. As the man pinning him down struggled for a better grip, Kayel managed to connect with his elbow to his face, knocking the man sideways and making him bellow in pain.
"Stick that little b*****d with his own sword Kurt!" Laurus' nose was bleeding rapidly.
"Get up, maggot!" shouted the man armed with Kayel's own sword. "No one's beaten me in any kind of fight before." With that, the man laughed almost hysterically.
The adrenaline pumping through his veins gave Kayel back his awareness. He was a hardened and trained warrior who'd almost lost his life for his foolishness.
Always know your surroundings! This is real, kill them or you die! The true realisation of his sudden predicament hit home and his heart started racing.

It was not luck which drove Erelafay to meet Kayel once again. She had felt him leaving after her but had noticed that he was not following her. Which a grateful smile towards him, although she knew that he had not seen it, she headed the opposite way. Or rather, that was her intention. She had not made three steps that she head others leaving the arena. The coincidence seemed strange and hiding behind a pillar, she observed three men...following Kayel. She immediately recognized the man from the arena. Her eyes narrowed.

Her decision was rapidly taken. The drow followed silently, sticking to any shadow she could find. Her dark blue hair floating around her face. When the three men knocked Kayel down. She appeared from the shadow.
"Well there is a first day for everything Mister Kurt..." she said with a smile, slowly walking towards the men, unarmed. Laurus was still on his knee on the floor, holding his nose. Erelafay smiled at the wounded man and her arm raised horizontal, her finger pointing at him. Blood was ninety percent water... The blood coming from his nose stopped dripping and started sliding. The drow's hand made tiny circles and the blood slowly extended itself as a snake and wrapped him around his neck. She watched with an unhidden pleasure, fear taking over Laurus's eyes and face. He could feel like a rope tightening itself around his neck.

Erelafay looked back at the two others, still standing, one with Kayel's sword in hand. She gave them a bright smile and laughed.

Arelia was swallowed by the pulsing, throbbing crowd. She could barely see what was going on in the middle of the arena, due to a man of large berth blocking her line of sight.

"Hrmmph," she huffed, struggling to elbow past him. He was as solid as he was large, and she was dissapointed. However, Arelia managed to slip beneath his arm when he raised it to herald a friend. She felt queasy as the odor emmitting from the sweat beneath his arms reached her nostrils.

Shaking her head to clear it of the stench, she searched for a position closer to the crowd. The crowd was screaming. She had caught only one word- 'Dargo', and understood the reason for their cheers. Dargo was a champion...none had bested him. He was a sight to behold.

Arelia smiled to herself, shoving and elbowing her way through the crowd until she was very near the front, eyes locked on the arena's ground. There was a gap, and she pushed her way to it, hoping to claim the seat before someone else did.

A heavyset woman gave her a shove- whether intentional or not, Arelia didn't know- and she was sent flying into a man. She cried out in surprise, a hot flush of embarassment rising up in her face.

"Oh I'm so sorry!" she cried, looking truly apologetic.

He looked angry.

"Maybe this was a bad idea..." she thought to herself. "I've never done well with crowds..." her heart thudded in her ears.

((Welcome His Tigress biggrin ! Come join the fun, if you want.))

"Thank y-" Kayel tried to thank Erelafay for her help, but was cut off by the quick slash of his own blade. Kurt, the man holding it, seemed to move like many novice swordsman, his stance gave little opportunity for balance quickly recovery from a staggering blow.
Sighting his opponent's weakness, his hopes rose.
"You should turn away now, whilst you still can." His warning fell on deaf ears.
"You think you's gonna scare me? ME!?" Kurt seemed to be in some sort of frenzy.
"Why is it tha-" Again Kurt attacked, with the same speed as before.
Kayel brushed the blow aside.
Some cannot be reasoned with. He realised.
With his heart still racing and adrenaline coursing through his veins, Kayel prepared for another of Kurt's attacks. The impatient man howled, before rushing at Kayel. Blows rained upon him, but the years of practice and training allowed him to deflect the frantic assault with surprising ease, constantly moving slowly backwards to give Kurt slight dominance over the battle's momentum. Sensing his foe's growing exhaustion, Kayel began to reverse the momentum, forcing Kurt to move backwards.
Kurt expected a quick fight, he thought it would be over after a few quick blows. His arms began to feel heavy, the vibrations travelling down the blade of his weapon began to numb his hand, sweat began to roll down his forehead and irritate his eyes, his movements slowed and his heart began hammering.
Kayel's body was tempered for swordplay and he dodged, parried and ducked many blows. Another overhead blow came at him, with a lot of weight behind it, this time he stepped aside, allowing the blade to clash into the pavement of the street. Kurt cried out in pain, before Kayel kicked his wrist, sending his weapon spinning. With that, Kayel thrust his freehand towards his disarmed opponent, a strong pushing force sent his target flying into a nearby wall.

((I was trying to work out how to do that. Here goes. mrgreen ))

Arelia sidestepped and dodged her way through the screaming crowd. It was becoming rowdier by the moment- she definately had to get out of this.

It wasn't long before she was free from the press of people. Her breath was a little ragged, and sweat dampened her hairline. Why hadn't she remembered how much she hated crowds? But it was always like this, only remembering how intense her fears were when she was in a situation where facing them was inevitable.

She hadn't walked far when she witnessed a struggle. Arelia was quick to draw her bow while her keen eyes assessed the fight. She felt confused when she realized it was impossible to tell who was the attacker and the attackee... and, for that matter, who was the weaker. Her brow furrowed, her fingers sliding along the shaft of the arrow she held against her bowstring. The bow was drawn, but not taught enough to fire- she wouldn't do that until she figured out who needed defending.

The bow lowered a small measure. Was this her struggle to get involved in? She doubted it.

Just then, she spotted the Drow lurking in the shadows. "Hey!" she called, approaching. She slung the bow back over her shoulder, but her hand rested lightly on the hilt of the dagger at her hip.

((I think you're in the shadows. Don't mind me if I'm wrong. ninja ))

Erelafay's eyes did not move from her victim, now on his knees, half begging, until Kayel cornered his opponent. Then her head turned towards the third man, her movement was mechanic, her face lacking any feeling. She wondered why the man had not attacked them and had just waited stupidly, staring at the scene. The fear in his eyes informed her that that was not by respect of the one against one rule but rather by hope to be spared. With a smirk, she unwrapped the water from Laurus's neck to lash it at the last man, using it as a whip which cut his check. Then the blood-water felt on the floor.

Erelafay gave them a warm smile. "Shall we call it a day...?" she asked, offering them a way to leave alive.

She then felt a presence coming behind her just before a voice raised. She turned and observed the pretty caramel woman approaching, a bow as her weapon and beautiful wavy hair falling on her shoulders. "No need for your weapon, woman." she said with a neutral ton. "If you mean us no harm, we mean you no harm either." Her silver eyes looked at the blue-green ones. Erelafay felt that the woman in front of her was not here to fight. She would even have helped. She then turned to the blond hair man. "Kayel? Are you wounded?"

PostPosted: Thu Sep 11, 2008 6:15 pm

Arelia let her hand move slowly away from her dagger. Curiosity lit up her features as she came forward.

"Are you in need of a healer? I am well-versed in the arts..." she looked with concern from Erelafay to Kayel.

She was curious- that much was obvious -and intruiged by what she was witnessing. Arelia wasn't entirely sure what to make of it all. It did seem, however, that this woman meant her no harm- if, as she stated, Arelia meant her no harm in return.

She put her palms together, bowing her head briefly in a gesture of friendship and respect. A soft smile danced around her lips.

Mireille was sunning herself discreetly when the fight broke out. It wouldn’t do to draw unnecessary attention to herself and her unusual habits, she had learned. She had opened one eye, lazily appraising the situation. She put a hand on the hilt of her light, beautiful sword when she saw that it was an unfair game of three-to-one, but as the hume was joined by another, and as his skills were clearly superior, she relaxed and resumed her sunning.

When the sound of fighting subsided, Mee opened one eye again, in time to see the blood-water fall to the ground and to hear and see the dark hume approach the duo, offering her skills to the original, wounded hume. Opening the other eye, she sat up from her semi-reclined position on the ground, and stretched, letting out a small croon of satisfaction. Running a scaled hand through her hair, mussing it even more than it was, she stood up and made her way towards the newly formed group.

“Ya shouldn’ even had let him stick ya,” Mee observed, coming up behind the dark hume. “Ya are o’viously of a better cut than he, or he, or him.” She pointed at each of the men in turn. She shook her head, trying to shake off the last remnants of sunning, away. “Rega’dless, from tha results, it must ha’ been verra interesting. I regret to ha’ essentially slept through it, my apologies for not offerin’ my help sooner. I should ha’ lent you my sword.”

((Sorry for the delayed post, my comp is messing up sad . Welcome all to Firistae.))

Kayel was in a small amount of shock. He'd never experienced combat where a life was at stake before. He wanted to get away from his frightened attackers as soon as possible. Tugged out of his daze, he looked up to Erelafay.
"I don't think I'm..." He felt warmth trickling down his right arm, blood was slowly dripping from a bloodied gash that he hadn't realised he'd taken.
With the surprise of finding his wound, still in his eyes, he saw the approaching dark-hume who offered her assistance.
"No thank you, I can heal myself." He sheathed his sword and placed his left hand over his wound. As he closed his eyes, a blue glow emanated from the cut. When his eyes re-opened, the wound was properly healed, and another unfamiliar face had approached. The newcomer was a noomar, unlike any Kayel had seen before, but he wasn't in the mood to observe anything in detail
"Well, it's good I had some help." He smiled at Erelafay. "Thank you all for your help and concern." He felt the effects of his healing spell, beginning to drain a little of his energy. He'd been over a day and a half without sleep and his body was beginning to feel the effects, his balance wavered and he swayed on his feet.

((I was thinking a bunch of guards could come running or something, saying we captured a highly wanted man or whatever, than the king of Molara comes and peronally thanks us and asks us to rest in his palace. At night we see the comet in the prophecy and something strange hapenns to us or something, than the city of Molara is attacked and we help the royal party make it to safety. Lemme know if this is a good idea to get the plot rolling. Or we could enjoy some more of the 'Great Tourney & Games'?))

(Sorry for not posting yet, I've had a lot going on lately and I've been really tired. sweatdrop But let's see if I can't go off that idea you had boonap.)

Jayger

As the small group formed a large body appeared in the sky above them. A roar could be heard as it drew nearer, coming closer t the ground. A great green wyvern dive bombed out of the air and plumited towards the group. But before it would hit someone it quickly flapped out its waings and nimbly landed next to the group. On it's back was a white-hume dressed in blue armor. He expertly coxed the dragon down low and jumped off, landing silently on the ground. He walked over to the group and gave them a small bow.
"I would like to thank you on behalf the king for taking out this trash. This man is wanted for many crimes against the throne." He walked over to the man on the ground and grabbed a pair of shackles off his belt. He slapped them on him and then lifted him up with just one arm. As he did this a few more began to appear, coming in to take the man and his buddies away. "It hought of intervining earlier, but you all seemed to have things under control." Jayger walked back over to his wyvern and rubbed it on the snout, it didn't enjoy being in a crowded town with so many different people around.
