because the console was sold to me without any idea that later in it's life i would have to upgrade my harddrive.

well if you think about it...the consoles are getting so advanced, would'nt you atlaeast consider that something like a bigger memory drive will be available question

I was never told that game would have installations, which take up 5-6gb at a time. i bought the PS3 just for gaming not for music or movies or any of that other stuff just games.

Aye, but more games would release, and sooner or later you would need more memory, wether you just did it for gaming or not.

Yes, maybe if games were going to stay with the low memory usage, but they take so much more just to have configuration...For example...Devil May Cry 4 takes about 2GB, if not more...
I understand you were'nt expecting to have all the downloads for games and needing to upgrade, but expect the unexpected I suppose...

actully dmc4 is 5 gigs..... plus most poeple have more then game saves on there ps3. like me i have anime on it till iwatch that series, i download trailers for movies and dun delete them till i have seen the movie. right now i got every ps E3 video on it. plus some game demos. and then i got soul calibur 4 and devil may cry 4 installs.

i didn't say most people i said me. All i plan for my ps3 was just game saves. I don't want Japanese cartoons on my ps3. I might download demo but once i play on them i delete them.
I just check my game saves for Devil May Cry and they are 2mb each. the 5gb your talking about is Game Data Utilities, which i was not told about, when i bought my ps3. If I knew then that game would force you to put 5gb a time on your hard drive I wouldn't have got a ps3 and i would have stayed with the xbox 360.
i don't want to expect the unexpected i want Sony to have told me about how crap Blu-ray is and that games would have these types of installation.
When i bought my ps3 the only reason i would have to up-grade my hard drive would be if i want other media content on it. But my pc and tv is fine for that.

If you don't expect the unexpected, then when the time is unexpected, you have no plan....
but realy, you think the company would tell you that bit of information, if they realy even knew it.... it will give them more money in their pockets, why tell them...
It's also games that were under way, so how could they tell you the affect they would have to your memory?

Ryuna_08 you know you sound like a very negitive young person. all you seem to do is complaine. if your so unhappy about blue ray and ps3 hard drive space take it back. yes I'm being negative because i spent £425 on a console yet they lied to me about it. I now have to spend an Extra £60-70 just to keep playing games. People shouldn't be saying I'm glad i can up-grade my ps3 hard drive, they should be saying why did sony not inform us that we will have to up-date are hard drive if we want to keep gaming.

So what your saying it let companies do what they want, who cares about normal people. let them buy inferior product over priced product as long as they can buy their second homes who cares right.

I never said "let them" I just said they do...
Like I can do something about it anyway.
If they truly care for your personal thoughts, and felt it would bring some income...maybe they would start to care, but in the mean time...it is what it is...
(I'm feeling a bit lame using all these sayings sweatdrop )
