I used to name my cats after literary characters a lot. Although my current kit-kat is not named from a book.

I had a black goldfish with the googly eyes named Desdemona, but it was rather short-lived... My pet in Maplestory is a little reeper thing named Minty Fresh, after a chacter in A Dirty Job by Chrisopher Moore, if that counts. I tried to name my cats Catawampus and Catastrophe, but my mother renamed them Baby and Angel emo

OliviaFalconer Can anyone think of a nice literary name for a chipmunk? Perhaps a chipmunk that was a character in a book? Umm in one book I read (can't remember which one) there was a chipmunk named Quickmunch.

When I was in third grade, I had read a book called "Where I'd Like To Be." It was about a girl named Maddie who lived in an orphanage. I enjoyed the book so much that when I got a dog I named her Maddie. (For pictures of her check out my profile!)

Umm in one book I read (can't remember which one) there was a chipmunk named Quickmunch. I found a couple of chipmunks in Tucker's Countryside, which is a sequel to A Cricket in Times Square by George Selden: Emily and Henry Chipmunk.

My dog was going to be named Ein, after the dog in Cowboy Bebop, but my mom didn't like that so its Einstein, but I still call him Ein anyway.

When I grow up and move out and live on my own, I'm going to buy two Rottweilers('cos they're awesome) and name them Scout and Jem after the characters from To Kill a Mockingbird... When my mom came home with a shih tzu, I wanted to name it Zinny after the main character from Chasing redbird but nooooo... She said she wanted to name it Virtue!

I named the fish in my Gaia tank after characters! I had Polgara, Belderan, Beldin, etc... (from the "Belgariad" by David & Leah Eddings).

Well, I haven't gotten a new pet for 9 years as I'm only allowed one and she hasn't died yet. (Fortunately) But, I have already decided that when I get another, I will either name it Magda, Rook, or Xanth, depending on species ad gender. They're characters from the Edge Chronicles.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, a couple years ago my mom got a tank full of fish. I think she had her own names for them, but I came up with other names for them: Harry, Hermoine, Ron, Fred, George, Percy, Ginny, and Draco. It was great until my little brothers brought them all to death. I think Fred, George, and Ron were the first to go; Hermoine and Draco lived the longest.

Fairgrass I tend to name fish after Shakespearean characters. What better name is there for a goldfish than Ophelia? Oh my Gosh!! That is awesome Ophelia is my favourite Shakespearean character. ASIDE The mad scene in Gibson's HAMLET is the BEST!!
