Such sweet rapture was this, the sweet flavor of suffering. Winowill drank deeply of the sensation, licking her lips before she sent again. **Protect me! Save me! Save me, and save yourself from the Animal you would become,** she sent, moving above the scene to slide down into the High One of Autumn's mind, giving the dream figure weight and substance, cloaking herself within the image.

Her mind flooded with red. Now Autumn raged against the beasts that would hurt the one she held dear. Higher then herself, then all others. Her teeth clenched and her body broke free of the biting jaws. Rushing to the fearful High One she stood over her protectively. *NOW YOU SHALL KNOW I AM TRUE TO MY WORD. NOW YOU DIE!* Autumns red hair flared out around her and the ground rumbled lightly. One by one large stone spikes flew up from the ground and right through the wolves. As they cried out and thrashed about for the last moments of their life the rest of the pack started to back away. *NO! NOW IT IS TO LATE TO RUN!* Her mind chased down each running wolf and split it's chest open with the upheaval of sharp rock. Still a few managed to get away into the woods again. Splattered with blood and trembling she looked down at the one below her. *Nothing* Her send a faint whisper. *Nothing will take you from me High One. You are me and all I could never be.* Still she looked wild and felt a heavy sadness as her eyes lifted and looked at what she had done.

Winowil, in High One's clothing, smiles at the genocidal rockshaper before her, keen mind already finding use for her. **Hmm.. doubtful, for the impurities can be purged from body and mind, High One that Could Be,** she sent, casting her net.

High One that could be? Did she hear her right? Did she mean Autumn could become a High One? Did she dare even the thought? Stepping back a moment she fell to her knees dumbfounded. *I.... I cannot. Death is all that brings us closer to what we once were. The animal and the elf are forever bonded in the blood of the wolfrider. A beast of strength, of the night and the hunt. A High One is a being of the stars, of light and knowledge, grace and elegance. It isn't true is it? I cannot become like you..........Can I?* Her send hushed and trembling as much as her body. It was all she ever wanted.

The longing within Autumn was a sweet intoxicating nectar. **But you can,** the dark healer replied, shifting the landscape with but a thought. No longer was it a dark and frightening forest. Instead, it was the warm shaped chambers deep within the heart of Blue Mountain: Winnowill's domain. A memory played, seen from the outside, as one would view thespians at play. A High One, tall and regal, with alabaster skin and ebony locks, sat upon a bed of blue velvet, white furs, and silver silks. In her arms lay a squirming elf-child... a half-child elf, an impure wolf-mix of a child. The gentle caress of a healer's fingertips as the child sought comfort, kicking and writhing, soothed the babe. In the dream, what only a Healer might see came into clear sight. The wildness was pulled from the child, tiny bit by tiny bit, with each pulsing of infantile heart. It seemed to coalesce before the High One, only to be stamped out, turned into spiritual dust and scattered upon a non-existent wind. Said wind swirled, the years turned until the vision of the grown elf-child clears into focus. Tall, regal, graceful. A glider in his own right, with a mane of brown curls atop a sleek black flight suit. His back is to them, so that all that is seen is the dark tight fitting leathers of his clothing and that mane of curls, before he tenses his legs beneath him and presses from the ground, up into the sky, and toward the Clouds.

Still trembling a hand lifted as if to touch the vision. *Is it...... Is it really that easy?* Her brow wrinkled and confusion filled her face then she looked upset. *No I guess not. A babe is one thing. I am grown.* She turned to look at the High One. *Isn't it?* Autumns heart pounded in her ears. The animal in her recoiled from the false High One but she ignored it. She knew better then to do that but still this was her secret longing. The hidden desire she kept from everyone, even herself most of the time.

The High One smiled and reached out to brush long, graceful fingertips against Autumn's cheek. **For so skilled a Healer, drawing out the impurities of a foolish High One's folly is as simple as shaping stone,** she replied.

Every hair on her body stood on end. At the touch something inside her screamed to run still Autumn stood there. Her eyes looking longing at the High One. To be tall, graceful in a way unlike an animal and to not be a creature made of this miserable rock. To be all the glory that they once were. To be able to think and it not hurt so much. To remember longer then a moment. She fell to her knees before the tall and glorious figure. *Please, I beg of you to grant me this gift. What could I ever do to repay it? To deserve it? You have but to ask and I will obey.* Tears started to streak her cheeks and the feeling of desperation was starting to sit heavy in Autumns gut. She wasn't liking the feeling more and more.

The High One smiles. **You must find Her, the Healer you saw in that vision. She can Heal you, set you free from the Beast.**

Her mind raced. Autumn nodded. *I understand. It means leaving the others but none understand like I do. None hold you in such regard as I.* She almost looked lost in despair at the thought of leaving the newly found pack but nothing more could be done. Would she remember this dream even when her eyes opened? Oh she hoped so. *A near High One leads us. Maybe he would understand? Maybe they would all come, just to stay together.?* A statement yes but still a question. She had been lonely for so long it seemed and wasn't ready to leave just this moment. Still the temptation was great indeed, very great.

Winowil smiled within the High One's shell. **Dear one, something you must learn of us. We have Time. Do not be so rash as to leave them, for you do not even know where to begin looking for Her, nor will the journey be easy. Nay, do not run, as the Animal does, chasing a dead scent trail. Think as a High One would, plan, learn, and then act.**

As that was said behind the "High One" came a monstrous wolf. It's jaws opened and snapped shut on the creature in disguise. Sending the vision to whatever depths it came from. The walls of Autumns mind coated in red as she cried out. If she had a voice she might scream in her sleep. Only her own jaw opened and nothing spilled from it. Eyes bolting open as she sat up. Beads of sweat ran down her face as she panted hard. Was it real? Was it more then a dream? Autumn shook in her isolated little part of the cave and suddenly felt very cold.

When sleep would find Autumns Joy she never knew what would come. Would it be touchier, bliss or perhaps enlightenment? Still she had to rest and so she did. Lids slipped silently over green eyes and in time she was lost in the void of sleep. Colors swirled and mingled. A hazy picture slowly came into view and a rust colored wolf ran freely through the woods. The green eyes sharp and the nose keen. Her tongue hang from the side of her mouth in a comical way but the smell of a meal was in the air.
The wolf ran following the smell of food. Soon she came to a small clearing. Peering through the darkness was easily seen a small group of elves around a fire. Some male some female as the wolf sniffed the air again. The meat making her belly growl hard in the darkness. Fighting them for the meat was a bad idea but food was right there.

Around the fire, with the other elves, Llune found herself sitting. The feeling of the group was that of uncertainty, the other members faceless and ancient, but still only a few centuries older than Llune, who felt much like a child amongst them.
Indeed, this feeling of being a child around these ancient high ones causes Llune to take on such a form, smaller than her adult self, but still with all her normal attributes. Llune is the only child sitting around this campfire, as the others prepare the meat.
Looking into the dark tree-line, Llune gasps at the sight of shining wolf eyes and stands to step back away from the scary sight. The other members sitting in the circle ignore her.
It's eerie, the way the firelight dances off the gnarled trunks of the trees around the clearing, glinting off the beads and shiny things on the elfin clothes, catching the predatory gaze of the Autumn Wolf. Llune steps a few paces away from the wolf-eyes and the fire, leaning against a tree opposite to them in the clearing, watching them with a interest and a bit of fear. It is as if all the sounds have been muffled so far, and as though Llune is unable to speak or send at the moment.

Instincts tell her this is wrong. Creatures that make fire are trouble. Still the animal found itself locking eyes with one. A small one who wreaked of fear. The rust colored beast took a step forward. Something about the youth called to her. Something in the animal brain said to stand. She was standing though. Something in the creature pulled it to walk closer to the young one. Even if it meant her end.
