Okay forgive me. I've never read any of the comic books so I really have no idea about some og the things you're talking about. Like The Phantom zone but I asume that is the place that those two bad dudes went. and Zod ? not sure who that is sorry
Alright, the Phantom Zone is a place that Kryptonian criminals are sent. It's another dimension where the prisonder is held in a form of stasis, but they can observe the normal dimension...they just cannot interact with it. (Thus the window.) If the window is ever destroyed, the criminal is set free.
Zod has had several comic book protrayals. The first and most memorable was that he was a Kryptonian criminal, who was the leader of a movement of Kryptonian purity. (Think Kryptonian nazi's.) He weas at one time the leader of the Kryptonian military, and attempted a coup on the ruling Kryptonian council. He was stopped by Jor El's forces and sentenced to the Phantom Zone, along with his followers Ursa and Non. (This was hte version used in the Superman movie.)
He's probably my most favorite Superman villain, aside from Doomsday.

I don't think Marsters is playing Zod, the way he melted out of the ship...I think he may be something else. Perhaps Braniac-13, who was associated with Zod at one point?
