lol, and I would probably do more damage than good! I have an amazing ability to frazzle anything electical on sight.
It keeps telling me my virtual memory is low. I tried looking it up but it's all a mystery to me!
You a bit of a DIY computer fiddler then? Or have you had training?

Conversation. Is it truely a dying art? Maybe it is the idea that we have are not members of the one word generations. Or are we? I have found conversations that consist of one word can convey a multitude of meanings. For example, this one word can convey numerous meanings and inuendos. As long as you know the person with whom you are speaking.
=^.~= Also I love PMs.

But how would you get to know the person without having some kind of conversation in the first place?
I'm pretty much stuck at home with 2 small kiddies at the moment, I rarely have the opportunity anymore to go out and meet new people, Gaia's kind of a window to the world for me right now. It keeps me sane (relatively speaking!)
lol, perhaps I'll try and open my message box and PM you!

The one class i've had so far in which conversation was the mainstay was Philosophy of Religion. I would sit in class and just listen to various folk who were majoring in philosophy discuss the problem of evil or how ethics and religion can be totally separate entities. I loved that class. It was stimulating. I just don't see something like that happening within the mainstream gaia crowd. I have stumbled upon a thread in the forum proper in which there was an impressive stab at starting a conversation on villains of comic books... : )
What kind of conversing are you looking for?

I had a friend who was really into comps. He build his and was going to school for it. I learned a lot from him and the rest was just fiddling with it seeing what I can do.

I have stumbled upon a thread in the forum proper in which there was an impressive stab at starting a conversation on villains of comic books... : ) What kind of conversing are you looking for? ANY conversation would be a start. I suffer with near terminal verbal diarrhoea. I'll chat about literally anything! xd My life's not terribly exciting at the mo. I love to hear about what other people are up to!
I can do deep and meaningful. Religion and politics were always baned when my friends got together, too many different beliefs and opinionated, stubborn people! Got a bit out of hand.....
I tried LI for a bit. Some of the threads were ok, I felt I was helping a bit, but there's only so many "OMG I got dumped i iz 13 and it's the end of the WOOOOOOOOORLD!!!!!111!!" threads I can read before I go a bit squiffy and want to squash things.
Maester_Leoshin wow, I'd love to be able to do that! But with me a little knowledge and a screwdriver is a dangerous thing indeed!

xd It's like you're the anti-me!
Google and attempts at "fixing" have probably caused me to have to reset the whole damned thing at least a dozen times!
I can draw though, and cook, so I'm not entirely without my uses!

rofl Atleast you have that. I can't draw worth a flip and I can't cook. Unless it goes in the microwave of course, although I have burned things in there before. somehow..

Oh, that was the other nice thing about that class I mentioned: it had little to do with personal views on religion. No one left the classroom crying or threatening bodily harm to anyone.
I noticed that there is a forum in this guild called Serious Conversations, i'm going to start a thread or two there tonight *if I can*. I'm not as strong with politics but I have a thing for philosophy. I also like literature so if you like books head that way. : >
*edit - we can talk about food too! *yet another edit - i'm off to attempt yoga in the hallway here at my house razz

Maester_Leoshin rofl Yes it is possible! When I left home I couldn't boil an egg. Learned by trial and error and I think I only poisoned someone badly once. xd
I'm a firm believer that EVERYONE can draw, maybe not well, but it's gotta be easier than writing and the majority of people can do that. I bet you could draw a man, even a stick man, and people would know what it was!
Ellemir Wow. Sounds much more interesting than the screaming arguments our discussions usually ended with!
I shall make sure to pop in tomorrow and join in! Alas tonight it is past my bedtime, my little darlings will be awake and demanding attention in about 4 hours! I should try and get some sleep at least! xd
Weird, was thinking of getting myself a "teach yourself yoga DVD" Need to get rid of my belly. It's getting a little wobbly for my liking, need to whap it into submission!
Too much good cooking! xd

Well, I think with computers getting faster and faster connections, good old conversation is becoming a thing of the past. Impatience on every one parts is playing a key role. I am noticing that not a lot of people are wanting to wait for things, most of them want things with in a instant. This might explain the attention spans that you are talking about. You never know, but this is what my opinion is on the subject.
I hope that every one is having a good day at least, and then life is enjoyable. Take care, hope to hear from you guys soon.
