He smiled he was glad she didn't note his almost crusty appearance or at least she didn't say anything and quickly shoved the carcass between them before taking a chunk. He was a bit shocked as hungry as he was the food didn't much matter instead he was happy watching Kaliska instead. When only moments ago his mouth watered with the fresh kill now it just wasn't as good.
"gooodddd huh." He said mouth still overly full of meat loosing chunks in the process. Only after did he think to swallow first.

Kaliska hesitated she hadn't really been all that hungry and it was Ren's kill after all so he should have the chance at the choicest bites. His enthusiasm got her own hunger up and she finally approached and pulled off a bite. She grinned around her food and nodded at his comment. "Yes very good. Thank you."

He nodded he was glad she was finally eating. "After this im sure to need a swim." He looked down at his grimy skin and snorted. His own human wouldn't recognize him. He was shocked she hadn't asked who he was. He took another bite, "this beats fish"

Kaliska nodded enthusiastic agreement to both Ren's statements. He looked more mottled that striped at the moment. "You most definately are not your handsome self, dear heart," she replied aware of the compliment but not the endearment she had unintentionally used. "Fish are great when you just need a snack or there's no good hunting available." Between comments she took more bites her appetite aroused now. Even though her human had several other 'painters it was rare for Kaliska to share in a kill like this, it was an interesting experience...

He puffed up a bit at the compliment of being handsome and smiled. "well its not often i get a nice slow meal with someone as lovely as your self." His thoughts dwelled on the cave that was seemly getting fuller by the moment.
"At least there's no coyotes around." He glanced like he didn't care over his shoulder scanning the area just to make sure his comment wasn't wasted.

Kalika ducked her head in a blush and fluttered her wings a bit at the compliment. "Thank you," she replied smiling. A moment later though her eyes turned sad as he mentioned coyotes. "Really Ren, you don't have to worry about Nida. I think she prefers my sister's company anyway..."

"Ahh?" He looked back over at her serious for a moment, "Well if someone like that chooses your sister over you that doesn't mean she likes you less, just mean she doesn't see you in the way maybe you see her?" he looked away then sorta fingered the food in front of him.
He snorted to clear his head, "and if she was here you wouldn't get to enjoy this freedom as much." He grinned was a stupid silly grin but he didn't care what he looked like.
"i hope it wasn't me that was the deciding factor... as much as i hate her id hate to chase her away from you"

Though the male was still encrusted with the dirt of his reckless yet successful hunting style, Kaliska nuzzled him. "Its alright. It really Nida's choice in the end. when I was still at home she spent time with both of us but choice to follow me when I left. I think perhaps she's bonded to both of us in a way... if that's even possible."
She sneezed having inhaled a bit of dust when she nuzzled him. "I think perhaps though if you're done eating as well that perhaps we should look into that swim so you can get cleaned up. I am rather enjoying being able to spend this time with you without the commentary of a turquoise coyote spirit."

"well i wouldn't know if its possible or not." He risked a smile then nodded. "I'm starting to feel rather dirty besides the looks." He wiped some of the dust caked on his legs off and sneezed. "maybe a dusting is not a good idea?"
He glanced at the few pickings of the meal left and gave a whine. "there's still food tho i hate to waste it but i think if i ate more i would blow." He wiggled the chain around his neck like it had became overly tight in the feeding. Then thought about his blood stained mouth, and claws.
Finally with a shrug he opened his wings sending clouds of dust and debris flying. "well then bath time." even tho he hated them being with Kaliska was sure to make it better. And it would be nice to be rid of this overly dirty feeling he had gained in the feeding and landing process.
Finally with a final smile he jumped into the air sweeping new dust and old dust around.

"I'm sure some scavengers will be along and be very happy we left some for them," Kaliska replied with a grin. She leapt to the air with Ren trying to avoid some of the dust sweeping off of him.
"Flying with you right now is like flying in a duststorm," she teased, her happy laughter showing that she was still enjoying the flight.

he laughed "well at least you don't have to worry about it being boring." he tried to glide more then flap every flap of his wings brought another cloud of dust. At least the lake wasn't all that far away.
Sighting the water he picked up speed before rocketing into its body. the large splash that followed was easily seen for a ways. sticking his nose out he smiled, "come the water is great."

"I could never be bored with you dear," she replied. When she spotted the lake she was greatful for the end of the dusty flight; she was feeling in need of a nice swim herself.
Kaliska just shook her head as Ren dove in. She circled and came in for a graceful landing in the shallows and waded then swam out to him. "Must you always make a splash?"

"of course." He sent a small wave of water in her direction, "i must make bath time some fun." Diving back under he did circles around her a few times before surfacing again. "Also you may never know what your dive may encounter," Smiling he held up a rather big fish.
"its sad im rather full." He pushed the fish over to the shore line before swimming back over to her.

"I'm sure someone will come along to enjoy that fish," she commented swimming around him. A twinkle in her eye she suddenly dove down... to emerge in a rush of water taking to the air just long enough to summersault and dive back down.
She surfaced her expression that of pure joy as she laughed....

Ren blinked not from the water that cascaded over him but the movement Kaliska had pulled off. He snorted shaking his head there was no way he hoped to do that instead he submerged before grabbing her tail and pulling her under. With a grin he quickly sped off towards the shore.
"time for a sun bath, those are the better kind."
