I've had thoughts about my Juggalo status aswell. But then I remind myself, the real reason Im a juggalo is because Im my own person. And the Fam are ones like me, who understand what its like. The one thing that made me so mad was when Thy Unveiling came out and like half the "juggalos" i knew, HATED ICP for that and lost what it is to truly be a juggalo. They kept asking me why I was still down, and I simply replied "I am what I am, regardless of what a song says."

Angelus Valken I've had thoughts about my Juggalo status aswell. They kept asking me why I was still down, and I simply replied "I am what I am, regardless of what a song says." "Equality is a chain, like obedience..." That's called being true to yourself, not being a juggalo.
Every major subculture boasts "being yourself" as the main goal, but anyone who believes that the juggalo subculture is one that isn't based around its music is only deluding himself. Otherwise juggalo, scene, punk, and goth would be the exact same thing. And i know for a fact that they aren't.
Only subculture I'd ever consider myself a part of is goth. And yes it starts with because I love the music. The Cure, Bauhaus, Christian Death(Rozz Williams era), Joy Division, Siouxsie and the Banshees, .45 Grave, Ausgang, The Danse Society, The Birthday Party, Southern Death Cult, Astrovamps, Cinema Strange, and so many others, are all bands that I grew up listening to from a very young age due to my mother having been a goth in the mid 80s when she lived in New York. And thus, the music under the genre(Gothic rock, deathrock, darkwave, dark cabaret, horror punk, psychobilly) all speak to me in ways very few bands of other genres can never even dream of.
In ways Insane Clown Posse and any of the other Psy artists can never even dream of.
And I won't even get started on the whole aesthetic side to it.
I won't lie, I did used to like Psy and did call myself a juggalo, but I look at myself now and realize that I'm beyond that. Yes, it was a phase. One that I grew out of.
Being your own person doesn't make you a juggalo anymore than being a poseur does. Being your own person makes you you, there is no choice in the matter. Being a juggalo is voluntary. Being a goth is voluntary.

I just know that its just something that the juggalos themselves started. ICP didnt start it. Maybe we wanted to call ourselves this. I dont even consider juggalo a lable, for one, we've got redneck juggalos, goth juggalos, emo juggalos, whatever label society has thrown on us, one word unites us all. (well 2 if you wanna get technical) but i mean come on, the music isnt the only thing that im down because of, its the sense of family that goes along with it.

"Equality is a chain, like obedience..." But even then, that sense of family comes through a shared preference of a certain type of music. A style of music that I, for one, do not like. Much less feel a "sense of family" with.
And goth, and emo are not labels society has thrown at anything. Emo and goth are both legitimate subcultures that both came from some from of punk rock(goth = gothic rock/post-punk; emo = DC hardcore/emotive hardcore).

I feel ya for real homie...I went from being with a die hard Juggalo for 3 years to now a going on 2 year relationship with a guy who really doesn't care much for psy. so I hardly listen to them at al anymore I mostly listen to As Blood Runs Black and I've strangly been addicted to grindcore....*shrugs* but anywho.... bein a juggalo really means your down w/ your homies as you would be w/ your blood and if you can do that than you are still a juggalo whether you listen to them religiously or not. like said b4 it's not all about the music thats just what draws you in. You're a juggalo when you can say this is my family, where I belong and who I'm gonna be down for till I die. and then when I die we's gonna be rockin s**t up in Shangri-La. s**t homie...I go to church and when I started comin out and bein a out spoken "Lette in my town, I was told by a number of 'los that you gotta be athiest to be down and I was like ******** that I'll rep the cross and a hatchet man on the same mutha ******** chain cuz I don't give a ********. but hell if you rep tha hatchet at least I gotta keep my oath that I will stand up and fight for ya when you need the help. Whether you agree w/ the way I'm gonna believe or not.
PPl interpret the carnival all differently just like the diff sects of Christianity. it's all in the way you interpret it. the only diff is that most of the time, unlike a catholic to a Lutheran, any juggalo will be down to help any juggalo no matter what or how they believe. Thats at least how it's suppose to be.
idk...ok I'm done... I still love ya homie and thats fo life... lol

"Equality is a chain, like obedience..."Christ, are you people even reading my posts?
I am not a juggalo. You are not my family. This is not where I belong, and I won't be "down for it" till I die. When I die I will not be "rockin' s**t up in Shangri-La", I'll be rotting in a red velvet-lined casket. I would not fight for you. I would not fight for any juggalo or juggalette unless they are actually a friend of mine, and that's only because they are a friend, not because they are a juggalo/lette. I do not care if you "love" me, because I do not return the favor. I do not know you, and thus I'm not your "homie". "Like fear or uncertainty or self doubt."

"Equality is a chain, like obedience..."Support? Help? With what? This proves my theory that you weren't reading my posts. Because last I checked I wasn't asking for help in any of the posts whatsoever. I was simply letting it be known that I no longer consider myself a juggalo; there was no "decision" involved. It was a transition.
Pity? Read back to me where I asked for pity. Again, proves my theory that you weren't reading my posts. And if you were, you probably need to take a lesson or two in comprehensive reading.
And I really don't see a connection between myself, this thread, and emo save for my mentioning it a few times to make the point of music being an integral part of musical subcultures, as they wouldn't exist otherwise. Please explain yourself. "Like fear or uncertainty or self doubt."

"Like fear or uncertainty or self doubt." well then correct me if I am wrong here but you posted a thread in a Juggalo guild about how you can't be juggalo anymore and you're bitching out even tho that if you were in fact ever a tru Juggalo you would know that we would all try and convince you that its ok and show you support and s**t and let you now that all of us go thru these phases of questioning ourselves in this matter.... and you are trying so desperatly to get your point across and for what??? We get it, your turning your back on us. It's whatever, ain't nobody cryin for ya. And if you decide to come back it'll prolly be like this convo never happened. you my dear, need to go out in the back woods and smoke a lil sumthin and find your life vision or some damn thing cuz you deff need help.... and I don't give a damn whether after that you juggalo, gay, straight, emo, punk, prep, or whatever the hell.....but you def need sum help from Ms. mother earth right now....for real... and don't call me sweetheart...deary talk2hand <******** yeah this all started as a musical subculture YOU ******** LIVE IN AMERICA!!!...damn near everything is a musical subculture r celebrity ******** bullshit, thats a ******** part of life and finding where you belong is having one common bond with a group of ppl. What next you gonna tell your friends you cant hang out because of whatever the hell reason you fabricate in your mind. That is a pat of life. Ppl dont get out of be a part of some musical subculture, if you ever do, until you fukkin like start a family and sum s**t and that becomes more important.... or whatever fukkin happens to change that but typically between like 12 and 25 ppl are a part of that...it happens....
