I just finished the Fruits Basket (Furuba) Anime series, I haven't read the mangas yet (Except the first four) but I was pleasently surprised by the series' ending, it's not as bad as most of the fan girls make it out to be. KisaxHiro is a guilty pleasure for me, it's so adorable yet kinda wrong to see the two of them together.

I just finished watching Voices From A Distant Star a while ago, Makoto Shinkai, using only a Macintosh G4/400 computer and an assortment of readily available design and animation programs that yielded breathtaking results in this twenty-five minute short film. The basic summary of the plot is a sentimental romance between a boy and a girl, the girl goes off on a mission to fight against an alien race and the only way they can keep in touch is via E-mail through their cellphones, but the deeper into space she gets, the longer the messages take to send and recieve. Very emotionally driven.

I'm currently working on getting Paranoia Agent and some Satoshi Urushihara stuff.

I loved Fruits Basket and am reading the manga for this as well...
I love it! heart

If you liked Voices of a Distant Star you should check out The Place Promised in Our Early Days it was the same person who did Voices, but this was given a budget now after his success with the first. It is closer to 1 1/2 hours and is a wonderfully subdued romance in the same fashion as voices. It is also stunningly beautiful. heart

I only saw Paranoia Agent when it aired on AS, and saw Perfect Blue before (same/same) and didn't care so much for that kind of bizarre psycological look. Perhaps you will get more out of it seeing it closer together than the one episode a week I saw. I would be curious to hear what you thought when you finished it. 3nodding

My only real gripe with Beyond the Clouds was that it seemed to emphasize the mood and emotions at the expense of story cohesiveness, somewhat. That or else I'm just a thick-headed clod who didn't get it. neutral

I like sappy romances.

And fighting.

Lots of fighting.

Cuz I'm masculine.

Nfg.

I will look for it, I'm impressed with what he did on Voices and something so short with such a small budget could contain such an impact.

If only there were more anime like it. ):

I'm also getting more and more into the Interactive DVD Anime/Bishoujo Games such as Amusement Park and True Love Story. I'm going to pick up Hourglass of Summer fairly soon. It has an interesting storyline and cute character design, I'll let you know what I think of it.

It's pretty good, I liked it.

Plus, Inoue Kikuko = autowin.

I just watched Dead or Alive. It was one of the better Lupin movies. I liked the character designs for Fujiko and Lupin but Jigen had a really narrow face and Goemon was just ugly. They devoted a lot of time to secondary characters and Goemon didn't do anything in the entire movie, but on the other hand the plot was better developed than your average Lupin movie.

Let's see, I'm always watching Initial D, because it's one of the best animes ever. However I'm branching out to newer shows such as Shuffle!, a Harem Anime based off an H-Game, and I just grabbed the first episode of Blood+, a re-imagining (or something similar) to the movie of the same name that came out in the 90s.

Movie-wise, I recently watched Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children... and I recommend it to pretty much anyone, whether they're an FF fan or not. The action and graphics are superb. The story is a bit thin, but that's to be expected when it's essentially a "wrap-up" to a game that's been long over. Oh, and for reference, my previous FF experience is whoever showed up in the game Kingdom Hearts.

I've been watching Full Metal Alchemist and Fruits Basket. Before I was watching Naruto and Bleach and Tsubasa, but I can't watch anime in large quantities and there are a lack of times when there is opportunity to watch anime... So I've fallen behind with all of my anime watching.

As for Advent Children... I'd never played Final Fantasy... But it was such a great movie, I'm buying the DVD when it comes out, and I had a T-shirt done with one of the scenes from it.

I doubt you are a thinck headed clod...
I am guessing from your post you saw this subbed...
(If I am wrong, what I post next will be useless)
I watched this in Japanese subbed first and thought.....eh...
and rewatched again in english after and enjoyed it much more this way. For this particular anime, it seemed to make a big difference in how i viewed it, and it isn't like the dubbing was very different, so I am not sure why, but this is one I would recomend in english. (And maybe you would still not like it that way)

Wow, I started Flame of Recca and am very much enjoying this...
seems to me for how good it seems after the first two disks it may be underrated as I have heard little buzz about it. I hope I enjoy the rest as well as the beginning.
