Her smile twitched upward in a slight smirk.
"Yeah, I'd be pretty sad if I couldn't find it after making sure it was the perfect gift for him. It took a while, too," she added for good measure. It didn't hurt that everything she had said so far was, in fact, true. She had planned on giving the necklace to him later that day. She had thought about a lot of those things. She did like him.
Which, in of itself, was probably the most important of them all.
She thought back to the flower left on her shelf in place of the arrowhead. It had been quite the pretty flower, too. Bright, cheery. A hopeful substitution.
"Instead of the item laying there," she continued, "there was a flower. It was a very pretty flower, and it was placed right next to my other one, the rose. Which, in fact, had been given to me by the very same lion I've been talking about all day. I wonder if there's a coincidence..." she paused, trailing off.
"I think maybe we should circle back, because I doubt someone would throw it this far away from my den. And if it is, oh well. It was just a gift. I could probably find something better if I wanted to. Though I did like that rock a lot..."

Erevu decided to play along in the innocent-act and to get out of Sharifu's hair. He wasn't sure now if he was intruding on something, so he figured if he was going to be confused and couldn't ask questions it wouldn't matter if he stuck around right there or not.
"I'll look," he chirped, hopping up from Sharifu's mane, taking a couple loose golden hairs with him accidentally and rushing ahead.
How honest Auri was didn't matter at this point, he could worry about dealing with it if it were true later on. For now he had to play along, act innocent and helpful- though how long that would go was uncertain. After all, he'd started a game and he wasn't sure how he was going to finish it yet. This was getting very.. interesting.
"Hmm," he murmured, and started when she mentioned the flower, "That must be a clue, that same lion- why would anyone leave you a flower?"
He followed intently after Erevu, knowing exactly where the arrow had landed and beginning to formulate a plan.

Auri smiled, watching Erevu fly away with a valiant effor to find the hidden arrowhead, which she was sure was somewhere close, at least. Either that or they were really going towards where her prize was hidden.
She honestly wanted to just give it to him already to see the expression on his face when she gave it to him.
"A flower! I know," she laughed. "I like flowers though, so I suppose its an okay exchange?" She shrugged innocently and kept walking, seemingly searching under rocks and around the bigger ones.
For the arrowhead.

Not a very discrete hunter, Erevu was quite obviously circling one particular area. He was sure if he was going to have to actually find the arrowhead or try to keep Auri from looking in the right area, but he was trying to at least look busy.
"It's not an OK exchange if you had such important plans for it," he said thoughtfully, shaking his head and spotting that Erevu was circling near the spot he'd tossed the arrowhead. It was funny but also worrying, and since he needed full control over the situation (and couldn't yell at Erevu) he went over and looked there for the arrowhead.
It couldn't be delayed forever, and soon he had to announce his 'success'. He had to do a bit of searching around to pinpoint it exactly, but he found it and put a paw on it and turned to look for Auri.
"I think I found it!"

She was going to follow him over to where Erevu was flying, but she changed her mind. If he had something in mind, he should be able to do it in peace. But when he voiced some good news, Auri turned around with a smile.
He found it? Really?
That was so exciting!
"That's great! Thank you!" she exclaimed, trotting over to see. "And now it's not so bad, because I have the flower, now, and the arrowhead! It's like a win-win for me." She giggled, trying to peek under his paw to see if it truly was the arrowhead they sought or not.

Sharifu watched Auri as she came over to get a look, smirking when she said that now she had the flower and the arrowhead. He shook his head with a short laugh, it couldn't be that easy- it wouldn't be any fun, it would have made all of this a wasted effort. Up to this point, though, it had been very entertaining so now that they had the arrowhead if the game ended it wouldn't be a total lost.
"Who said I was going to just give it to you?" he asked, still smirking and protectively dragging his paw (and the arrow) back in the dirt to bring it closer to himself.

Auri blinked. Her jaw dropped a little in shock. He was holding it? From her? The rightful owner?
"I would like it very much if I could have the arrowhead back, please?" she tried politely and kindly, smiling her best, winning grin.
There was no way that she was going home without the arrowhead because he refused to give it back to her after finding it. The only way that he would have it would be after she gave it to him.
Geez. Why did he have to be so difficult?

"Oh, you can't charm me like that, Auri!" he countered immediately when the smile appeared on her face and she tried to be very polite about it. Sharifu had to work, though, to keep his focus on keeping the arrowhead from her when she did it, though. It was funny and had great potential to work, so he had to keep a straight face and keep his goal in mind.
Sharifu pulled back another step, taking the arrow with him.
"Did you mean what you said?"

Auri's smile turned into a cute little pout. It didn't work? But that smile always worked! She gave him a calculating glance but it melted into one of confusion.
"What I said? Which part of what I said?"

"You don't even know what you said?" he asked, pretending to be hurt by this- though it wasn't hard to pretend, he was just being extra dramatic about it. He shook his head and took another step back, still taking the arrow with him as he did.
"All those things about me," Sharifu said, leaning in a bit, narrowing his eyes and smiling.

She, in turn, followed more slowly, with a forward step with each of his backward ones.
"Of course I remember what I said," she replied soothingly. "I just wasn't sure which parts you were talking about.
"And I did mean all those things I said about you, if that's what you're looking for." She took a breath and began to explain a bit more.
"I did want to give the arrowhead to you, as a necklace, perhaps. Or even as a trinket to wrap around the base of your tail. Since you had given me the flower (which I still have, as I rather like the color and it's still alive), I felt that I owed you something in return. And the idea had come to me many moments before I had asked for the rose.
"I did mean it when I said I liked you, as well," she added rather shyly. A first in Auri's book. "You are fun to be around, you're funny, you add adventure and you keep things moving in a fluid way. You make me smile with everything you do or say." She smiled at that, too.
"Yes, I do believe I have a crush on you."
And she was slightly embarrassed to say that the color began to rise on her cheeks at that.

Erevu realized he was missing something just in time to catch the conversation about how she liked him, and he circled one last time- making a slight face at the admission and direction the conversation was going. He doubted he would be missed if he left now, and he could always hang out near Sharifu's home- as long as he stayed out of the way of his huge family. So with a glance at Sharifu, he fluttered off to leave them alone.
Sharifu remained smirking, watching her as she admitted it all- and she didn't just say 'yes', she actually explained herself. Hearing it out loud made his smirk deepen, and he had to weigh the pros and cons of giving a genuine reply right now.
No, that wouldn't be as much fun or as meaningful.. not like this.
"Ok," he said, jumping back a bit and off of the arrowhead, "If you mean it, come find me tomorrow." With that, he risked making Auri mad and walked by her- nudging her rather affectionately as he went by- and jogged off towards home. He would think of something else, something perfect.

It all happened so fast that Auri didn't really know what to say in response. First of all, that arrogant little smirk of his had been on his face the entire time during her little confession. And she wasn't sure if he was proud of himself for making her like him, or he was holding back laughter, or what.
Either way, it was infuriating.
And he left before she could do something about it. She quickly whirled around to watch him walk off (after his nudge, which she quite liked, though she kept that to herself).
Find him tomorrow?
"Ohhhh, just you wait," she promised, picking up the arrowhead with her mouth and turning around the opposite direction to head home.
