Dameon looked at Rai's intense face. "Had?" he asked, careful not to poke at a touchy subject too much, but noticing that maybe Rai wanted to talk. He couldn't be sure either way.

Dameon sat up slowly. "I'm sorry," he said, not sure of what else to say. "Has it been difficult for you?" He looked at Rai, not as if he were a man of pity, just as a man who had lost something. Something that he could not replace.

He shrugged. "I lost them about 5 years ago, it was tough back then, and I still think about them now...But...I don't grieve as much." He shuddered at the memories that rushed into his head. He could feel himself get dizzy.

Dameon looked almost concerned for his fellow teacher. "Are you ok? Would you like a glass of water?" he said, getting up, and glancing around the room. His eyes fell upon a pitcher filled with clear iced water and a glass on a table. He could have sworn that it wasn't in the room when he had entered, but he walked over to it, poured some water from the pitcher into the glass, and offered it to Rai.

Rai took it with shaky hands and sipped it before setting it down quickly. "Thank you, but I think need something a bit harder," he tried to laugh, but ended up choking on his breath. "Sorry...I don't generally like people to see me like this..."

Dameon smiled genuinely. "That's fine, that's fine," he said, and tapped the glass with his wand, and the clear water inside turned into clear vodka. "I understand. Actually, I can't say that I do, but I understand how hard it must be for you. I hope that is to your satisfaction?" he said, nodding at the glass of alcohol.

Rai sipped in lovingly. "I don't think most men do, but I have to get it out sometime. I've been holding that emotion in for quite some time..." He shook his head. "We all have our demons. You...Me..Everyone. Some just express it better than others..." he laughed, "Sorry, I rambled."

Dameon smiled. "We all do sometimes, don't sweat it." He sat back down into his chair. "But you're right," he said darkly. "We all have things we don't want to talk about, emotions that should never be felt, and think thoughts that shouldn't be thought, and even less, said."

Rai, who had started his second glass, nodded. "It's unfortunate, in a way. To have these burdens. I felt like I was holding my wife back." he laughed, "I married her when she had just turned 18...I suppose that's not healthy."

"Well, you weren't much older than she. Plus, it was her choice to marry. Falling love, completely unable to prevent it, but it was her choice to follow her emotions. Nothing you could have done about that, especially if yours matched hers," Dameon said pointedly. "I don't think you could have held her back. Women are spirited." He conjured up a glass of alcohol for himself and well and sipped it slowly, not wanting to over-do it.
