Susan continued his wide eyed stare at Xi, obvious admiration written all over his face. "wow..." he let out slowly, sounding like a little kid seeing something amazing for the first time. "I wish i could be that brave..." he looked down slightly embarrassed. "hell... I'm still afraid of spiders..."

Xiang faulted for a moment then he realized, or thought he realized, that this youth, was younger still than he thought he was. Xi dropped a bit of the stuffy drama from his actions and smiled, rather than smirked at Su. "Maybe in time, you're still young yet. You have years ahead of you, cutie, before anyone's gonna expect big things out of you."
Xi reached out a paw and nudged Su's chin up, looking to make him grin, "Spiders squish, kiddo, you not so easily it seems. Feeling better?"

Susan pulled his head away slightly from Xi's paw and looked up at him with a raised eyebrow and a slight confused look on his face. He tilted his head, and raised a paw to his face, and coughed slightly. He wasn't sure if he should ask, but he couldn't stop himself. "Xi.... how old do you think i am?"

Xiang stood and stretched a bit, flexing his claws into the ground, he was hungry and wanting to be on his way, without being rude. This sudden question and change in attitude caused him to blink though, "Are you toying with me?" Xi sat on his rump and cocked his head to one side to really take a look at the other male, Su was a bit smaller than Xiang was, but Xi was above average in size anyway.
"I had you pegged as an adolescent, until now, how old -are- you?"

Susan stuck out his chest, a hefty and proud look on his face. "I'm not an adolescent... I'm nineteen. And i'll be twenty in december." He returned back to a normal sitting position and looked at Xi somewhat confused, with underlying hints of hurt. "why'd you think i was so young? it's my size isn't it??" he asked lowering his head somewhat shamed.
"I HATE how small i am."

Xiang managed to look chagrined, but only slightly and the moment passed.
"Not just your size... Come now though, nineteen? You're still relativity young, no need to worry about all that." Xi was still trying to placate the youth... male, he corrected himself mentally, and he stood again and couldn't help but continue to think of him as 'kid'.
"Tell you what, if you're feeling up to it, you can come with me as I continue my hunt?" Xi wasn't against putting him to work without even knowing his name, maybe he could teach the other a thing or two also. If not, Xi might find it in himself to come back and check on the other, he was still a cute, even if he wasn't quite a kid.

Susan's eyes widened in delight and an even wider smile graced his face at the thought of being able to hunt. But a look of doubt crossed over his face as he began to wonder if he could even HELP Xi hunt. hadn't he JUST ruined Xi's hunt? Even if it was unintentional? Would Xi be mad at him if he did ruin the hunt? His ears went down at that thought. He didn't like anyone being upset with him, or at him... and for some reason, the thought of this male being mad at him made him especially distraught.
So, rather than nodding his head vigorously in agreement, he merely shook his head dismally. "no... I don't think i should... I'll just ruin it for you..."
He got up and began to walk away in the bushes, trying to hold back a sniffle of dissapointment. "It was nice to meet you."

Xi frowned as he watched the play of emotions crossing his face, especially when they turned down and the decision was murmured out. He had not expected to see the others back so soon.
"I didn't even get your name yet, leaving already?" Xi's expression went a little hard, if Su would take a look back and see it, "You've already done that once, so maybe I could teach you a thing or two? That is unless you'd rather be off, you probably don't want to do anything active after that fall, that's understandable..."
Xi wasn't one to get mad easily, so there was no anger in his voice, it was more colored with veiled disappointment, he'd expected more, fight, more something anyway. But maybe the kid didn't have the same interests he did, or maybe he was still ill from his fall. Xi wanted to know, he wasn't about to just let him leave.

Susan turned slowly, unsure of what to do, or how to react. He didn't hang out with others that hunted. He wasnt sure what the proper thing in this situation would be to do. He wanted to prance around and squeal happily and glomp this Xi... but he didn't know him that well, and he didn't want Xi to think that he was gay. So, Susan merely smiled bashfully and trotted over to Xi. He nodded his head shyly nd looked away and down at the groung. "I'd really like to go hunting with you, but i've never been hunting before.... you dont think that i would ruin it for you do you?" In that moment Su looked up at Xi with such a fear in his eyes of rejection that it wuld have broken any heart to see. But as soon as he realised that it was there, he quickly let out a manly and shook his head as if trying to shake away the awkwardness.

Xi was glad that he turned, hesitated, smiled. But then, again looking down, looking away. That fear and sadness haunting his eyes. He tried so hard to hide it, it almost pissed Xiang off, held it in.
"Never been before? Well no wonder you're so small for your age, kiddo." He had to continue using the nickname, "I see it this way, we both have to eat, so unless you have something else you'd rather be doing, I think you should hunt with me."

Susan sat and thought for a minute, which was actually a pretty comical sort of thing to watch. It actually involved him sitting... tilting his head to the side, opening his mouth ever so slightly, and getting this far off look. He contemplated that idea... he was, after all. Pretty hungry... and he would have to go look for something sooner or later, mainly becuase he was so far away from Tsu and his horde of munchkind turned adolescents. Then again... he HAD seen a river filled to the brim with fish not so long ago... and he was a pretty good fisher... he wondered absentmindedly if Xi like to fish... maybe he'd asked.... damn he liked that name... he was still shocked that Xi hadnt made fun of his own name yet... And then it hit him like a ton of bricks as he dropped down a reverent looking pose ((bowing with his butt in the air)) and yelled out, not thinking AT ALL. "I'M SO SORRY!!!! Here you are being so NICE to me and i haven't even told you my name!!!! it's Susa-" And in that moment he realized he had just made a terrible mistake. And as he flailed about he tried to correct the horrible screw up. "ANTHONY!!! ANTHONY!!! I MEANT TO SAY ANTHONY!!!!" he laughed awkwardly, spiralling down from his aggressive flails. "Because... yeah.... i mean.... what kind of a name is Susan for a boy? it's not... that's what it is... and i should know.... becuase my name is ANTHONY.... with an A.... not some sissy girl Susan.... with an S..."

Xi stood there, smirking, his wings shifted but he said nothing as Su went about his thinking, Xi though him comical but didn't get a chance to say such when he suddenly was bowing before him! It thrilled Xiang, just the littlest bit somewhere deep inside him, but what he focused on was the tirade pouring from Su's lips-
"Whoa, whoa, easy," Xi had taken a few steps back to avoid the flailing, "I don't see anything wrong with Su- Susan?" He smiled teasingly, and decided that he'd use the name, not because he was cruel, but because he thought it was cute. "Whichever name you prefer that is, Su~" He drew out the sound and then stopped, looking almost regretful. "I don't see what's so bad about it; Su-san~ Seems it starts the same as mine; Xi-ang~ Su~ Xi-ang~" Now he was teasing the other, but not laughing at him, just repeating the names is a sing-songish manner. "Who says 's' names are sissy anyway?"

Susan pouted dismally. He knew when he was being made fun of, the only problem was... He just couldn't seem to turn around again it was kind of fun to see the other male smile and laugh like that. But still... he didn't like his name... even if waht Xi was saying did make SOME sense. He sighed and pouted for a few more seconds before finally informing him, "It's not the S part that bothers me... it's the ending. Su-SAN... AN... ANNE a GIRLS name!!!" He made sure to stress that last part. "and i am NOT a girl!" He let out in a childish whine and a stamping of his foot.

Xiang stopped, "Ah~ Well I don't see it that way, it's just sounds strung together, a name your parents gave you. Of course you're not a girl, someone would have to be missing a few connections," Here he pointed at his head, "if that thought even crossed their mind." Xi regretted even cracking a smile about it, with the way Su was reacting, but Xi wasn't good with damage control.

Susan let out a low but deep growl. He hated his father, he hated his mother. But his father, if he ever saw him again, was going to die at his hands. It took Susan a minute to realise that he'd growled, which made him give a shocked look as he looked at Xi in shock in horror. He quickly changed that expression to one of embarrassment. He hoped that Xi didn't think too badly of him. "um... how about we go hunting now..."
