"I...I guess so," I walked in. The room that we entered was elegant and slightly intimidating to a girl who had grown her whole life in a 2 room apartment that always smelled of heavy alchohol and body odor. "I hope none of this is any trouble, sir. We don't need any special space, sir. And we would be happy to clean without pay, seeing as we are trained maids. Not that your house looks to need much cleaning, I mean..." I curtsied and turned my face away, mumbling, "Nice to see you again," I looked over at Dusk, who's eyes moved up and down his perfect, sleek body. I tried hard not to do so myself.

I blushed for my sister's actions. I wanted to laugh in a way, but did not wish to embarass Dusk any more than she already had herself. It was so odd Nathaniel would have it in him to make note of Dusk's obvious passion for him out loud, it almost sounded as if many females before had done the same. "Nathaniel, may you show us to our room? We are tired and must rest, sir."

"This will be fine, thank you," I set down my single luggage bag on one of the beds and sat down on the cozy blue comforter. The whole time I felt his eyes seizing my body, as if looking intensely for answers to an unsolved puzzle. At the same time he was breathing over Dusk's neck, standing closely to her. As anyone may have guessed, Dusk did not move out of this position, and I watched as she grinned in satisfaction.
"If I may ask, does the door lock properly?" I said in all seriousness.

"Well," I paused, thinking of Nathaniel and how is hand had been so curious about Dusk, "There's a bed," I forced a grin, wishing for only a split second that it could have been my body under his masculent, strong hands. "So," I smiled, "I suppose you won't be in our room much,"

"No reason," I rolled my eyes and smoothed out one of my pillows.

Night fell over the safehouse, darkness sweeping across our bedroom. Dusk and I were sitting on our beds, each with a pint of vanilla ice cream that Nathaniel had given us as Welcome Home gifts. The blinds were shut, as reccomended by Nathaniel, for some reason, and the door was securely locked. "Dusk," my body was shivering slightly, "How can we trust him?" I sounded deeply nervous, my voice cracking slightly with each word. "I mean..." A knock on the door cut me off.

I thought about that. Nathaniel would just unlock the door and walk in. Real gentlman. The knocking turned into banging. With the banging came what I thought to be...a hiss? As if like a cat, or a snake, or...oh god. I lept to my feet, kicking the ice cream under my bed. I opened the window. There wasn't much time, I could tell. "Dusk, help me take down the curtains," Our room being on the third story was not coming in handy now, but there was no time to worry about that. "Dusk, the curtains!"

"A raid?" My head was spinning out of control. Dusk pointed out the fire escapes and I wanted to just give up and knock myself in the head. Curtains, what was I thinking. We bolted for the fire escape. Dusk thrust herself out, making her way down. I stood still and looked across the city. We were so high up I could see everything. 5 blocks over. Father's house. Flames were rising above the roof, turning the whole house black. "Daddy!" I cried out. "I yelled down at Dusk. "Change in direction," I lept down the first three steps of the escape. "We're goin' home,"
