Abel smiled and wiggled his "fingers" in front of her face. His black claws were much smaller now, since he was "normal", but still there. "My gloves usually hide them, and they get worse when I'm released," he explained, running his pads lightly beneath her chin. When she talked about pushing him, he sighed and stepped back, his paws sliding from around her. He turned and walked back towards the tree, carefully flopping down at the base and leaning against it. He opened his arms to her, inviting her to resume to cuddled position should she want.
He had just felt like sitting down would be the best course for their discussion.

Sarah slunk over to him and curled up against him relaxed at the base of the tree, glad they had a place they shared, a place to call home. As cozy as she had made her shop feel, living there among the death and predators had never felt completely right. With Abel she felt the wholeness of it, the knowledge that wherever they were together would be safe, home.
"Your priests robes 'ide a lot..." She chuckled softly and relaxed with him.

Abel wrapped his paws around her as she cuddled up against him. He liked this feeling, holding her and resting his head upon hers. He chuckled and nodded his head at her statement. "Yes I'm sure it's like that because priests are not supposed to be coveted," he said and gave her a knowing look. "I guess I failed at that, too," he added, smiling and rubbing his paw over her back, absently. She reminded him of family. She WAS family, his only family in this place, maybe even in the world. His family could grow, he had always liked having his brother and sisters around him, to play with and learn and... He bit his lower lip, closing his eyes. Could he allow it? Was he really okay with voluntarily bringing pups who would have to deal with their hunger? He still wasn't entirely sure.
But he wouldn't tell her that.

"I think technically that makes me the failure..." She giggled and snuggled back into him happily. With luck she would find some way to show him, to convince him that they could have a family and be happy. Their cubs wouldn't suffer, they would have all the support and help they needed.
Hmmm, perhaps if she urged him to spend a little more time with Pearl and Spike, after all chances were their clams would have Spike's taste, at least one of them might. Maybe once Abel saw that the new happy family had nothing to fear he would loose his worried attitude. "Umm, Abel love...maybe you should 'ave a talk with Spike. You know 'is little ones will probably 'ave 'is tastes, I'm sure 'e would like the 'elp, a little advice?"

Abel thought about it for a moment and shook his head, smiling. "Nope, I failed at making myself unattractive/unattainable enough to dissuade you," he replied and squeezed her gently when she snuggled against him. They were acting like a pair of otters much younger than they were. He would never tell her just how old he was. It might scare her.
And there she was, back on the pups issue. Truth be told, he had momentarily forgotten about his goddaughter's pups and mate. Maybe she was right. Little Pearl and her Spike had no inhibitions over the raising of downright vampire pups. Perhaps he should have a talk with Spike, about a great many things on his mind. "That sounds like a good idea, dearest. I'll see what I can do on that," he more or less promised, nuzzling her hair. He much preferred it down, as she obviously preferred his. He hadn't felt like tying it back this morning when he got up, so it fell in silver strands around his shoulders.

"I don't think you could look unattractive if you tried." She chuckled and brushed her paw against his cheek. "As for being unattainable, I'm glad you weren't I would be quite miserable indeed." She relaxed against him and nodded softly pleased to be with Abel no matter their issues on the pup subject. Even if he did dissuade her she knew she would still love him, forever.
"And I can offer Pearl some 'elp if she needs it." Sarah smiled as she felt his nuzzle against her hair. She always left the wildly wavy strands down once she was away from the heat of the shop. She kept it tied up neatly when cooking and the rest.

"Well, that is your opinion, of course, but thank you for the compliment," Abel chuckled as he replied and nuzzled her wild hair again. He would do what she asked him to do, besides a talk with Spike would be nice and he was sure Pearl would like some time with her technically Godmother. Neither Hector nor Elizabeth had actually named a godparent for their children, and probably didn't even think about it. But Abel liked to think of himself in that way. A second father they could come to if they needed. And if that was the case and Sarah was his mate, well that obviously made her the godmother.
"And I couldn't have you miserable," he added, leaning down so that he could lick her cheek. He smiled down at her, his glasses slipping down his nose a bit. His eyes crossed and he frowned as he pondered whether to push them back up or to stay holding her. "Oh, I'm sure she'll like the company, as long as it's just you. Poor thing loathes crowds," he mumbled in an afterthought, still staring awkwardly at his glasses.

Sarah smiled at the lick to her cheek and giggled as his glasses slipped down. She watched him a moment amused. "I won't crowd her." She stroked his cheek lightly and pushed his glasses back up for him. "You know you look adorable that way."
Smiling she draped her tail over his and nuzzled his chest. "I 'ope Pearl won't mind if I offer 'er some 'elp? It's not that I don't think she can 'andle 'er own clams, I just think she might like a paw?"

Abel blinked at her, his ears perked up in interest. "I do?" he asked, tilting his head a bit. Adorable was not a word he often heard in reference to his appearance, even from her. He smiled boyishly down at her, humming as she nuzzled his chest for the upteenth time that morning. Not that he minded, of course. "I don't think she'll mind. She's proud, but I imagine she would perhaps even like the company," he replied, randomly nibbling her ear a bit.

Lovett nodded and held back a laugh at the face he made, as if he didn't believe himself capable of adorableness. She found herself feeling the familiar little twinge of hope that she would soon be able to see a little otter face a bled of Abel's and her own looking up at her with such adorable expressions.
She peered up at Abel and nodded "I 'ope she does, I wonder sometimes if she feels odd...Spike is of a different nature after all, it's easier for me to accept and love you with all your abilities, because I've always been a predator. I think maybe Pearl 'as it 'arder, but she must love Spike an awful lot to still understand." Sarah smiled softly.

Abel leaned his head back, looking up in consideration. "Pearl always was the more laid-back of herself and her brothers, in her own way. She liked to take things as they came and didn't go out of her way to prove herself. I think she just sees her Spike as just another otter, with particular habits," he explained, and put a paw beneath her chin, smiling softly down at her. "Exactly how I see you. I'm only so used to my ways, and it was difficult to accept yours, in the very beginning. But, darn it if I couldn't keep myself from falling in love with you," he added, his voice low as his paw idly stroked her neck a bit.

She tipped her head up with a soft 'chirr' sound as he stroked her neck. "It's a good thing, our love and acceptance of each other." She looked up at him and blushed slightly. "You know...the first time I saw you love, I just couldn't wait to get a taste of you. You looked like you'd made a good dozen pies!" She sighed softly.
"I'm very glad I didn't bother, things were 'ard, but without you around they would be so much worse." She licked his cheek lightly.

Abel laughed uncomfortably and shook his head. "I'll pretend I didn't hear half of that," he teased and settled back a bit more, closing his eyes. After a moment, he opened one eye, his blue one, and leaned down, kissing her nose. "Sweet Sarah. I'm glad to have you in my life, as well. I don't think I really lived life before you." His voice was soft again and his tail carefully wrapped around hers. he might have wrapped his wings around her like he usually did, having gotten used to the touch, but they were currently pinned against the tree, and he didn't care enough to move.
