"A lot of 'someone's say something, but I don't know this 'someone' and prefer to find things out on my own." A standard answer to a standard saying. RuiZhi tsked softly, eyes shifting momentarily to the door as though he'd leave to retrieve the aforementioned ice, but Micajah was already moving onwards with another topic of discussion. The student would know his best remedy, and so the Chinese teen decided to go along with that route of medicine.
The youth nodded. "Their blood is the conduit," he explained, again looking to the model, eyes coursing over the extensive network of blood vessels. "How it's infused with magic, I don't really know, but it's not my place to really ask about it. Being a Science student..." He paused, considering the 'task' he had received from Herei before he was able to be an official student, grimacing a little in memory. "...means I should really be focusing my efforts here. I have a lot of time to worry about it later."

"I wonder if I can make it far studying magic. My Father wanted me to go into science and to make my way through school pursuing that, but I wanted to try my hand at things humans have only written about in books. I want to be able to someday summon something to aid others, be it rain in a drought-plagued land or light in a darkened cavern."
Micajah smiled faintly at the thoughts of himself perhaps one day doing all those things, having people smile back at him and children whispering how they wanted to grow and do something similar.
"I wonder if someday magic and science will actually be able to go hand in hand. Like using science to find the problem and magic fixing it, or vise verse. In the medical field I bet there wouldn't be anything to stop that kind of treatment."
He nodded and listened to RuiZhi's vague description of what the blood clerics did, his mind taking a note to try and look those up later. Magic was used for medicine after all in some cases, but not in the way he hoped it could be eventually. He wanted there to be a way where no one would die from something 'unknown' or 'incurable', a way to help those most in need.
"I think it's good to focus on what you need to do, the task at hand, but sometimes it's more fun to let your mind wander. You never know what you'll pick up that way."

"Hah," he laughed softly, "I couldn't agree more, Micajah." And it was the truth. RuiZhi was pleased, if not proud of the Magic student for vocalizing his own beliefs; he'd been afraid he was the only one in the school to think that way. He hoped that one day Magic and Science would be hand in hand, not across a line of no return, not to be segregated like a racial war. There was balance in everything, if only that balance was sought; apparently the chakras could teach them much more than simple karmatic flow.
"Hey." It was something to consider, wasn't it? "Maybe you and I could head a club or something. Something to mix what we as students have learned." Would it be against the rules? Possibly. There wasn't any real clear cut statement saying one could not share their knowledge with others. They were here to save the world, after all, not play elitist snobs. RuiZhi sighed softly, considering that many of the students probably could care less, or were simply too busy with their own work to consider such a thing. Maybe his aspirations were too high...
The Chinese youth gave a slight smile, nodding. "My mind wanders a lot," he admitted, "but my heart follows. I don't like limiting my knowledge. For example." He'd already spoken his mind, what was another nugget of thought? "What if...what if I'm on the battlefield, and don't have the right items to use? What if...magic could save them? I don't want to lose people because of my own shortcomings."
And that's what it really was. He didn't want to be limited, it was unfair for his own profession and those he would come to care for in his future. RuiZhi was not so daft as to think he would be able to save everyone, but that one extra ability and study could save so many more!

"Yes! That's it exactly!"
Micajah clapped his hands and almost jumped over to the Chinese youth's side at the mention of science and magic being used on a battle field, but he wasn't sure if the kid next to him meant separately or together in terms of the user or weapons.
"Who's to say people can't use magic imbued weapons either? Like a grenade that instead of blowing up when you throw it casts a shield around wherever it lands? Or a small kit that has a needle that injects magic imbued healing serum to increase cell division without actually causing a strain to the human body. A serum that makes them divide naturally instead of speeding them up and forcing them to split."
He wouldn't lie and say he'd never thought of the possibilities before, magic being used on the battlefield as an aid rather than something of harm. The idea of a gun that could produce storms when shot into the air fascinated him the most though since he didn't want to think much about war, his preferences riding towards aiding those in situations of dire need, and as he mused he had to grin slightly.
"And you know, I think a club sounds fun. Even if it were just me and you in it then at least we'd know we had two very dedicated members that weren't afraid to spice things up. We'd probably have to keep them in line if they got too out of hand, what with their crazy pipe dreams and all. the only problem would be to find an Adviser who's just as interested in the details as us."

RuiZhi smiled widely, feeling a little childish in his giddiness that Micajah understood. Just listening to the other student gave him more ideas, more theories, even making him aware that magic could be used as a tool and not necessarily a bodily function. He listened, raptly entranced as the bruised teen shared his ideas, imagining the effects of each and somewhat overwhelmed by the implications; there was so much that could be done! The possibilities were endless, if only the limitations were not there!
He recalled Irame talking about how magic had once been for aid only, for enhancement and the betterment of life; like all things, it was eventually turned into a tool, an object of war and harm. The teen knew he couldn't spare such things possibly being born of any agreement to the Club, but if there was even a chance that they could do this...!
"An..." Ah. A sponsor of types. The Chinese youth pursed his lips in thought, dark eyes flicking to the side. "Are they necessary, I wonder..." It was there, a bare hint, a fleeting moment, but undeniable: a rebellion. It was washed away rapidly in his logic as he rubbed his arm thoughtfully, "I think...we can do this. If we detail what we're looking to do, I'm sure we can get someone to agree." Would he ask Alex? No, not of his own will, as he knew her thoughts on Magic.

Seeing the Chinese youth before him smile only made Micajah smile wider too, almost to the point where he wanted to laugh because he was feeling merry, and he nodded his head as he listened to RuiZhi's pondering over a sponsor.
"You've got a point. If one's not really needed that makes things a lot easier, but sometimes having the influence of someone with power tends to allow one to do things they wouldn't have been able to do before."
It sounded like he was talking based on experience, but the way he said it made him sound a little skeptical too. There were many benefits of trying things solo - no one to tell them when they went too far or set up rigid schedules they couldn't keep, but the better part of having a sponsor was most accidents could usually be overlooked and taken care of without too much worry. A sponsor was essentially, to Micajah, a back-up in case stuff went wrong.
"While being alone could allow us to work at our own pace it also limits us on what we can and cannot do without help. Having a sponsor gives us said help but also comes with regulations."
He tapped his fingers against his chin as he continued his thoughts, honestly trying to get something accomplished in his brain.

The teen didn't fully understand what Micajaha meant by 'doing things one couldn't do before,' but it seemed one of those things best left as is. RuiZhi reflected on their position for a moment, considering all the options before speaking, "It'd be good to have someone just because we are students...we don't know everything, let alone what will come of our mixed studies." If something did go wrong, a spell, a contraption...
...they could deal with the consequences.
The Chinese youth puffed a little, not wanting a fall-guy, because he wasn't the type to pawn his own lack of ability off on others. He'd either be stronger for it or be conquered by it, and the latter had yet to happen. "We'll have to figure out what our ultimate goal would be first, right? That way there's no getting off the path or confusion." Something to work for. He could use the excuse to put his mind to the grinder, as it were, as he felt particuarly confined lately.

"How about we start with something small? Like a spray bottle that has healing magic in it?"
It was a ridiculous suggestion at the very least, but Micajah found himself thinking it was be rather convenient for someone to have something like that. Minor cuts and scrapes would be a very quick thing of the past if people were able to heal their little wounds with just a spray bottle, though he'd have to think of something better for major wounds. A pill, perhaps? But how does one condense magic into a pill...?
"Oh, wait. You said goal. I was already off in my own land dreaming of what could be made, hah. Sorry about that."
He chuckled sheepishly after he heard what he had said and understood what RuiZhi had been saying, though he was honest about wanting to give that a shot. It would mean no more black eyes to sport around after saying something stupid, and that meant he could speak his mind a little more freely...perhaps. Maybe.
"An ultimate goal would be to make something that would better everyday life too, right? Something to help not only those who are soldiers, but the families those soldiers leave behind, and perhaps even others beyond that. Starting with something that could be used by anyone regardless of age or ability sounds best to me."
Sure magic was meant to be mysterious and used only by those with proper lessons and training, but wasn't science the same way? Or was it only fair that everyone could do science while magic was left up to professionals (or those in training?). He could have thought on that a bit longer, but . . .
"Oh, sorry to trouble - you know what time it is?"

RuiZhi nodded thoughtfully. "Yes, something like that! Or maybe...implimenting both our paths. Would it be a waste if someone took the route of Science that could use Magic, since not everyone can...? It'd be in all our best interests if neither was left out, I think."
He watched Micajah talk and consider, his smile light. It seemed the magic student had a great grasp of bringing both paths together in an efficient manner. Of course, there were still the hurdles of people wanting to mix harmful magics with harmful devices, making things that much worse, but if there were some sort of law or rule to abide by...
The possibilities were excitingly endless.
The teen blinked at the question posed, glancing to one of the computer screens. "Twenty past three." He paused. Had he really been here three hours? "Time flies when you're having fun, I guess." RuiZhi gave Micajah a pleased smile; he'd have to find this one again, when all was said and done.

"Is it really that late? Geez, I needed to make a phone call at two..."
Micajah didn't sound hurt that he'd missed whatever appointment he'd been going for, instead he gave off a sigh and simply shrugged his shoulders. Whoever he was meant to call obviously wasn't that important, or at least he didn't weigh it that heavily at the time; it was a phone call of his convenience anyway.
"That being said, I do need to get going. I didn't mean to stay in here and talk as much as I did instead of getting notes, but I'll make sure to go behind myself and take the actual class through the self-system. I'm so glad ShinKami has something like that or I'd never get anything properly done. I think all of my classes have been done that way thus far."
He gave a sheepish grin and moved to gather up the items he'd come in with, taking care to put them in some order that wouldn't cause any grief should he need to dig through them again any time soon for important things; he did have the notes he had scribbled down at the very beginning to go through.
"But I'll see you around, right? We really should look into making that club together, even if it is just us and a sponsor. Even only two people can do greater things then a man by himself, and with us trying together I think we can accomplish something. And even if we don't, at least we can say we tried and maybe get some laughable memories out of the whole thing."
