Grissom! Is leaving. ):
Do you know what season/episode that's in? I'd like to see it.
Ehm... I'm not sure which season/episode, but it's the episode that involves a service which takes leftover embryos from in-vitro and finds women who are willing to carry them to term. One of these surrogate mothers was killed by the mother of the woman who provided the embryo. Not sure if that helps gonk

IMDB is your friend. : )

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0534735/

Secrets and Flies!

Here's the plot (contains SPOILERS): a woman is found dead next to a baby, with a gun and a suicide note. Autopsy reveals an intact hymen so they go find out whose baby it is. The woman used a Christian service that provides embryos that were never used, to woman who want them - perhaps not a bad idea in theory, although it's kinda marred by the pro-life nutjob bias (but the girls kinda kick a**). They track down the baby's biological mother and it turns out that her husband has died AND there's a clause in the dead woman's will that if she dies, the baby goes to the biological parents. She doesn't have a child of her own because the IVF failed, basically. It was actually her mother who killed the surrogate, because she wanted her daughter to have somebody.

Messed up, huh?

It's Season 6, episode 6.

Sex and the City deals with abortion in a pretty pro-choice way too. Miranda finds out she is pregnant and decides to have an abortion. Carrie and Samantha say they've both had abortions, but nobody lets Charlotte know because she's been trying and failing to get pregnant. She finds out anyway and can't face Miranda for a while. Carrie hides the fact that she's had an abortion from her boyfriend, but comes clean at the end. Miranda thinks about things and decides not to go through with the abortion.

Even though Miranda doesn't get an abortion, I think it's handled in a pretty mature and pro-choice way.

Yeah. I wish that in TV shows, when abortion is brought up to a pregnant character, I wish that if she didn't want the abortion she would simply say "I'm not getting an abortion" instead of crying and screaming and throwing a temper tantrum.

I was soooo thankful that I saw it. She seems desperate, but it's looked on as a personal decision and not a moral one.

TECHNICALLY you could have an intact hymen after having sexual intercourse. Or a broken one without intercourse. Phail, CSI, phail.

Oh, they even took the abortion scene out of Fast Times at Ridgemont High when Comedy Central showed it on the Stash where things are supposedly uncensored.

And yet, every night the commercials come on. Even when it's not the Secret Stash.
"GIRLS GONE WILD PRESENTS: TITS, TITS, AND MORE TITS! ALL THE QUESTIONABLY-CONSENSUAL BOOB FLASHING AND FAUX-BISEXUALITY YOU CAN HANDLE FOR ONLY $19.99!"

Ugh. Those pieces of crap can run all night every night, but women actually making sober, informed decisions about their bodies. THAT'S TOO OFFENSIVE!

When he tells JD to abort the plan, JD runs around yelling "Abort the plan! Abort the party! Abort the babies!". He says the last part mistakenly, and is afraid he offended the priest or whatever. However, the priest doesn't mind and simply states "It's okay, I'm pro-choice".

I don't remember the guy being a priest! If he was, that's awesome.

Indeed. Well.... maybe not. Scrubs is very silly and absurd, but it does occasionally have some deep and dramatic emotional moments.

That is of course true. Could you give birth and keep an intact hymen? I don't know...

He might've been some sort of priest, but I'm not totally sure. I have poor memory. You can probably find a youtube video or something. Scrubs takes place in a hospital, and people are always dying in those places, so yeah, there probably will be deep, serious moments.

There was also an episode of Family Guy where Meg thinks she is pregnant, and when the mom tries suggesting abortion, she just did the stern "Mom, I'm not getting an abortion!" thing instead of screaming and crying about it. It's sad when the dumbest, most immature shows can take the subject of abortion seriously without the girl screaming.

Edit: Turns out, the guy was a priest or preacher of some sort, as he was wearing the casual priest attire, and JD calls him "Father Rosenburg".

I just had a thought about that. Everybody expects them to be silly all the time so they can go after really serious subjects without people getting their panties in a twist.

Family guy is pretty lighthearted when it comes to abortion and doesn't seem to sway either way. One time they were watching "Murder, she Wrote" and one woman mentioned she had an abortion earlier in her life, and smoeone goes "A-ha! So she's the murderer!" And then later on Lois explains that she's pro-choice now because she got pregnant and couldn't go to the Olympics.

Actually, an abortion did occur on a soap opera called General Hospital. The girl who had it was Lulu Spencer. It was an offscreen abortion (all you see is her walking into the clinic, and lying down on the table, and that's about it, but you know what happened.)

Very moving scene!

This is still phail since I thought she carried the embryo to term, wasn't that the point? Maybe I'm just confused.

And I know this community has some harsh words for Juno, but I did think they handled abortion maturely as characters. The movies portrayal of the abortion clinic itself was a bit odd, and while Juno opted not to have the abortion, she didn't freak out at the idea of it, just made the call, walked in past her friend who was protesting (and the portrayal of that girl as the protester made me lawl since she made NO SENSE AT ALL) and was going to just do it. I didn't feel like she or her friends had a bad bias against abortion.

She carried it to term, but had a C-section.
