Spidertail raised his hand towards his ear before he registered that she wanted a land hunting crouch. What good would fishing be against a squirrel?
He lowered is haunches and slowly crept forwards, his tail slightly sticking up in the air. "This good?" he asked.

Hazelfrost couldn't help but let out a slight purr. This tom really needed help with hunting. "Well," she began, "First of all, you need to put less weight on your feet. And secondly, keep your tail down." She tried to look for more flaws, but couldn't find any.

Spidertail immediatly dropped his tail to the ground. He crept forwards again, trying to be more light on his feet. "Is this better?" he asked cautiously, holding his position.

"Much," she replied, with a pleased look on her face. She looked around for a stick, preferably a short and wide one. Finally she found one and placed it several fox-lengths away from Spidertail. "Pretend this is a mouse," she challenged, "Creep up to it and catch it."

Spidertail slowly moved forwards, trying not to make a sound. As soon as he neared the "mouse" he pounced. He reached his paws forwards and landed right on top of it, "killing" it with one blow. He turned to look at Hazelfrost, a confident smile on his face.

"Good", she laughed. His crouch was perfect, and a real mouse wouldn't have stood a chance. But real prey would probably but up a chase. "I'll give you one more test," she stated. "Catch me." At once she took off in a sprint, towards fourtrees.

Spidertail was caught unaware and barely had time to drop the stick before chasing after her. He summoned all his strengh and ran as fast as he could after her. Hazelfrost was already very far ahead of him.

Hazelfrost continued to run, but slowed down slightly. She had been hunting for a while before Spidertail showed up, and was tired. Fourtrees was already coming up in her vision.

Hazelfrost seemed to be slowing down, but Spidertail was tired as well. He turned at a different path, towards RiverClan territory, but still towards Fourtrees. He sort of had a plan in mind, but wasn't sure if it would work.

Hazelfrost turned her head, to see if Spidertail was still following her. She was surprised to see that he gave up already. I'm no WindClan cat, but I didn't think I was that fast. She stopped next a bush, just a few lengths away from Fourtrees.

Spidertail heard Hazelfrost stop running. Her scent was nearby, so he hid in a close by bush. He could tell by scent and sound that she was on the other side. Slowly he began to pounce. He moved his hind leg. SNAP!. Spidertail froze; it was just a twig he stepped on. Just my luck... I hope she didn't hear that.

Hazelfrost's ears pricked. She heard something from within the bush she was next to, and was insistent on finding out what is was. "Who's there?" she asked. Slowly she crept up to the bush.

Now, he thought. His plan might just work. He crouched low to the ground, then sprang into the air, aiming for Hazelfrost. "Gotcha!" he hissed playfully.

Hazelfrost was startled by the rush of red fur crashing into her and let out a hiss of warning. But then the familiar scent of Spidertail washed over her, as they toppled over to the ground.
"Get off, you big furball," she teased. She was trapped underneath him, and slightly struggled to get loose.

Spidertail's plan worked. He landed with a thump on top of Hazelfrost and trapped her beneath his paws. "See, I can catch you," he proved. He rolled off of Hazelfrost and onto his back, to avoid actually hurting her.
