Over anxious parents. Well, Vatsa could certainly identify with that! He grinned as the flutter mare echoed his affections, letting her gently pull at his mane.
'My mother is worse, I think. She didn't want me to go wandering anywhere, not even when I grew. I had to talk to her, and let her know that I wouldn't betray any of her trusts.' he said. It pained him that if he ever met somebody that he liked enough to want them to meet his parents, they would in all likelihood never meet his mother. She was so very private.
'Well mother and father that I've mentioned, a brother and a sister.' he shook his head and laughed.
'No, no rabid mates. Not been away from home long enough to have begun courting. No mate for you though? I am surprised.'

Wings twitched lightly as she listened to him speak of his mother a bit. Her lips forming a small 'o' shape. Well at least she could understand where he was coming from. Though her father wasn't too bad she supposed.
"I think...some parents are just afraid of what might happen to their children if they go out on their own. Perhaps its just hard for them to let go. But if you return to her all safe and sound every now and then I'm sure it might put her mind at ease. At least a little bit?" Olivia had grown a bit interested in Vatsa's mother. She seemed like a very secretive Soquili who perhaps hadn't had a chance to experience much of the world. Or maybe she experienced enough that made her shy away from it.
The mare nodded. "Ah! A brother and sister? I have a brother and sister myself as well." Tilting her head, she grinned lightly. "Mmm, well. I guess the spirits just have other plans for me later on down the road." She flicked her tail, shuffling her small hooves slightly. Causing the feathered anklets around her ankles to rustle softly. "I'm surprised no one hasn't snatched you, yourself up. Even if you haven't been away from home very long."

'Well, I'd not just up and vanish on my family at any rate. They aren't bad really, and she has her reasons for being the way she is.' Vatsa said. Well, so his father told him anyway, and he'd yet to question his mother in depth about it, she had been tight lipped about her past since he was old enough to remember or to ask.
'Well I am sure you will have no trouble finding someone, if that's what you want for your future?' he meant his words, she was pleasant, and pretty. He couldn't see that could be anything but agreeable to most stallions.
'I seem to have remained 'unsnatched' so far,' the stallion joked, giving his braided tail a gentle swish.
'Why, plan on doing it yourself?' Vatsa teased her, and make a grab to give the point of one of her ears a playful tug.

"Still, parents worry about their children's welfare even so. I'm sure your mother is delightful once you get to know her after a while." Olivia knew some Soquili were like that. They were passive and shied away from most that they did not know. But once you spent some time with them eventually you could get them to open up and be a bit more friendly. At least with yourself. It was merely an issue of trust with some, sometimes.
A small sigh passed through her lips as chocolate eyes glanced off in the distance for a brief second. "It would be nice to eventually have a mate. But I'm not in any serious rush like some might."
She giggled lightly, letting her long blue bangs fall across her nose. Her ear twitching as he grabbed the tip of it. The flutter took a n** at his nose, a sly smirk spreading across her features as she turned her head slightly. "I just might have the right mind to do so."

'She wouldn't let you,' was all he'd say more on his mother.
Vatsa nodded at her words;
'I suppose I'm not either, I mean unless I got swept off my feet by a lovely young maiden.' he said, slightly overdramatically and then laughed.
'But I think the males are meant to do the sweeping aren't they? So I'll probably wait forever in that case. Besides, I'm young, and I don't think either of my parents are in a hurry to be made grand-parents yet.'
He lipped the ear before letting it go, wiggling his nose when she grazed her teeth against his skin.
'Cheeky..' he grinned back at her.
'Oh yes? Well maybe I might let you snatch me for a time, but I've only just met you!' he made out that he was shocked at her forwardness but laughed again, unable to stay serious.
'I think I'd like to get to know a lady before I tie us down.'

The mare frowned lightly. Was his mother just that secretive? She had never come across anyone who was like his mother. At least what little she did know. But it seemed like that current topic was perhaps something to steer clear of for now.
"Guess it would depend on if the stallion was the 'sweeping' type. There are probably some that would rather have the mare make the first move. Or their just too scared to, either way." Olivia shuffled her hooves lightly. All this standing around. He didn't bore her, no. But for some reason she just felt like moving. Nodding, she flicked her tail lightly. A small breeze picking up wayward strands before letting them settle back into the mass. "I think my father would have a heart attack if he became a grandfather so soon as well."
She grinned and cocked her head to the side, giving him a quick wink. Olivia laughed at his antics. Giving her head a small shake. He was silly. But she was glad he wasn't put off by it. Besides, he had started it. And its not like she didn't mind his slight forwardness and lack of personal boundaries either. It was refreshing to say the least. "I'd like to get to know the gentleman a bit more as well." She fluttered her wings, sunlight catching on the lighter, more see through parts. "Would you like to take a small walk with me then? So we can find out about one another more?" Olivia had no real place in mind to go to. Perhaps just a bit of a wander. Maybe a stop down by the nearby stream. She didn't want to really wander too far. If her strength to keep this more 'normal' size gave up it would take quite a while to get back home.

It was probably a small miracle that he and his siblings had come about at all, he was that secretive, and if it wasn't for his father's gentle nature and kindness, Sohalia would have been on her own for always.
'I wouldn't mind if a mare made the first move,' Vatsa chuckled. He really wouldn't, that would be kind of cool if he got to know one enough for her to do that. Just walk up to him and go 'hey, we are meant to be together'.
'Well, I think we should walk. I might seize up if I stand here too long, and then you'd really have to like me to put up with me being around here forever.' he stretched a little, swishing his tail braid as he did so.
'Lead on lil butterfly.'

Olivia would have to keep that little tid bit in mind, possibly. Just in case. You never knew how somethings might go. "That's good then that your open to both ways of it. I'm sure there are probably some stallions who might be put off by it sometimes. Perhaps make them feel less...masculine?" She pursed her lips in thought for a bit. Wondering if perhaps that weren't the right word to use.
Oh well.
"I wouldn't mind too much. At least I'd have company." She giggled, flicking her long tail again and giving a playful flutter of her wings. Nipping at his cheek before she started to walk. Glancing over her shoulder as she stopped, waiting for him to catch up. "Perhaps a nice little stroll down to the stream nearby?" She didn't want to go too far after the stream. The prospect of getting stuck out there terrified her a bit. Olivia never really left her meadow all that often so she had no carnal knowledge of the vast world they all lived in.

'Less manly? Yeah I can see that, but it's never been something to bother me. I mean, look at me,' Vatsa chuckled.
'Nicely braided tail, long mane, and a patterned pelt. I could look girly I suppose, but I know who I am and don't care if someone thinks I look that way.'
He carried after thinking quietly;
'Besides, attracting a mare enough for her to want to pursue you should be taken as a compliment, not as an attack on your manhood.' he grinned at Olivia.
He wriggled his nose as she playfully nipped at him, still smiling.
'Wherever you want to lead me, I will follow. Besides, I don't know my way around here myself so we can get lost together?'

"Nahhhh." She laughed lightly. "Your just well groomed. Nothing wrong with being well groomed." Olivia pranced as she walked beside him. Watching as the sunlight his his hair and pelt. "And besides, a lot of mares like well groomed stallions anyway."
Fluttering her wings as she went along, she was at least happy to have him accompany her down to the little stream. "Mmm, I suppose that's true. Though I don't know really. Its all pretty much speculation on my part. Sometimes I wonder what goes through some Soquili's minds."
"The stream it is then!" The Flutter giggled again. "What a pair we are to get lost together. But at least we won't be alone."

'Well groomed huh?' Vatsa supposed that was much better than being called or thought of as girly.
'I can live with that.' he smiled.
'And you, you like well groomed stallions then?' he nudged the mare.
'I'd wonder, but that takes too much tiiiime,' he said overdramatically, and then laughed at himself.
'I think it's best to just say that everyone is different, and think to yourself how strange another is. They do say 'If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all'.'
He nodded at Olivia;
'Well this is my first time down here, so I can say it's your fault if we get really lost?' he winked at her.

The Flutter mare shuffled lightly as he nudged her. Giving a cheerful flick of her wings before her eyes rolled skywards. As if the answer to his question were on the inside of her eyelids. "I'd say...somewhere in between. But there's always that allure with rough and rugged looking stallions as well. The bad boys who just let themselves go. Of course, if the stallion was well groomed and constantly worried about getting his hooves muddy then there might be a problem."
She wrinkled her nose. "But its not about looks. Its about personality really. If he's nice enough, makes me laugh and all that good stuff I'd be fine with whatever grooming habits he has. Though if its a bit deplorable I might have to try and get him to tidy up at least a little bit." She laughed, shaking her head.
Glancing at him and his dramatics, she giggled once again. Nudging his shoulder with her own lightly. She wasn't as tall as he was, so she had to slightly boost herself up to do so. "M'yea. But sometimes everyone just confuses me with their ways of thinking. Though I guess your right. Everyone is different. And even what you might say and think could be strange to them in turn."
Olivia pranced a little bit more. Pulling her chin in closer to her chest as she picked up a slight canter to her step. "I've been down here several times, though its still pretty easy to get lost. Especially when you're small. Everything can take on a different look to it when your looking up from the ground as apposed to looking down." Lifting her head she mock pouted, sticking out her bottom lip just slightly. "No, you can't say its my fault. And if you do I'll give your rump a mighty pinch!"

Vatsa shook his head at her words, letting his mane fall any old how all around his neck, ears and into his face. He looked through his mane at her and said;
'Grrrrr.'
He laughed soon after however, ruining the 'tough' effect;
'Wasn't really convincing was it?' he said, giving a wink and shaking his mane back out of his face so he could see.
'Ahh yes, well, I don't think you could step out with a scruff by your side, you need to look like a proper match with whoever is lucky enough to capture your attention.'
Vatsa nudged the flutter back, swinging his head and aiming to lip at her mane, but missed and settled for catching her ear tip quickly again.
'I guess it would, flowers would look like trees wouldn't they?' he teased and laughed at her latter statement.
'Oh you would huh? Maybe I'd say it was your fault just for that.' Vatsa winked again.

Olivia squealed with a giggle as one of her wings flicked forward as a shield as he growled at her. Peeking around it before moving it back, she laughed. Shaking her head side to side. Taking a step forward to n** at his mane. "I'm sure if you put some more effort into it you could be quite fearsome. At least to those who don't know you anyway."
"Proper match? And just what do you think you be a proper match then?" Her ear twitched again as he caught it. An eyebrow raising curiously as she walked along.
"Yea, pretty much. And regular Soquili just look like giants. Get caught in a small breeze that would only rustle someone's mane and you could get blown miles away from home!" The mare grinned at his wink. "You just want me to, don't you?" She made a clicking noise with her teeth before nudging him with her shoulder once again. "Maybe I just won't then. You might like it too much."

'But if I look mean then others won't approach me, and I'll be lonely.' Vatsa pretended to sulk, pushing his lower lip out. Truthfully he would never be nasty unless absolutely provoked, he liked being close too much to jeopardise that.
'I don't know? You tell me.' he shrugged. He really wasn't that much of an expert. He'd not been out in the world long enough to be. And he was still fuzzy on the whole 'love' thing. Sure, he loved his family but that was a different kind of love. The one that tied you to another and possibly lead to your own family? He had no idea what that was at all. Finding out might be intriguing though.
Vatsa chuckled at the mental image of the flutter being spun head over tail in a light breeze.
'Well I might at that.' he nudged her back, looking around as they walked. It was certainly pleasant down here and he wondered what it was like during wintertime. It would be his first after all.
'Have you seen snow before?' he asked suddenly.
