He was an average teenage guy who got bit by a radioactive bug and gained incredible powers...
which he then continued to ignore and became a chef. His powers were of absolutely no use, so they faded away since the lack of use did not make them stronger or cause them to mutate. However, through a strange turn of events he gave his abilities(unwittingly) to his costumers. These costumers became regulars at his cafe and due to the wonderful food, chose to protect it from the scientist who continued to try to seek out the poor chef in hopes of finding mutations and changes within his powers.
