Joachim had long finished feeding by the time Shadow, had begun his meal.
"Now gentlemen, you'd leave your guests so soon?"
Joachim used his speed and block the doorway. While smaller than then the men, he could hear their thoughts, and their fears. And they were more afraid of him then bold enough to attack.
"Sir Shadow, I am quite sated with my meal. I leave the rest to your discretion." Joachim shut the door and bent the nob at and awkward angle, preventing any chance of escape shot of breaking the door down. Walking calmly back to the body of the man he had fed upon, closer inspection show the man still lived, yet was slowly dying of blood loss. "I shall take the rest of my meal farther below deck, I do so hope you enjoy the rest of yours. " Joachim dragged the body calmly down the stairs below deck, the screams of the condemned man echoing in the hull.
Once the darkness of the deck below had consumed them, the screams reached a high point, the sounds of meat being torn echoed up the stairs. And, just as they had started, the screams stopped.
And finishing his meal, Joachim purred at the thoughts of the men above him, knowing the wouldn't escape their fate.

(Sorry if that was too God-modish)

(( It's ok, didn't seem like it to me. :3 ))

This was only the start of it..if he could only satisfy what overwhelming hunger he had, maybe then he'd feel like having a little more from his own victims before extracting their hearts. It was hard to draw anything more out once they faded away into his own army of darkness after all...perhaps just as a leisurely past time. For now, he paid no heed to the little vampire as he went off to do his own things.

Screams of agony, although short, was nothing entirely new to him...but it was sligtly disruptive for the time being with the ripping of flesh. Leaving no mess, Shadow finished what was left of the crew almost immediately. It wasn't near enough even still..more so..it left him craving for more.

Joachim, quite sated, and slightly blood spattered, could feel the lives of the remaining men being snuffed out. He could also feel the remaining hunger emit from Shadow. Fear crept up his spine. He had been warned that if he had not been sated, Shadow would turn to him for sustenance. That left Joachim little escape. The Ocean drained his powers, and he would surely die should he leave the boat. But to go up the stairs....Joachim shuddered, knowing that death was not pleasant. Calming his nerves and wiping away the blood sprayed onto his armor, Joachim casually went up to the hull, where Shadow remained.
Licking his lips Joachim hoped it would not come down to a fight for his life. "Shadow sir." He gulped.
"Though we have fed upon the sailors, I can tell you still hunger. If you so like, I might be able to show you the parts of the city not yet covered by the night watch."

The heartless was roaming among the cabin, no sign of what little crew had fallen to him..all that was plainly visible was the bit of blood that had escaped Joachim's draining. He thought that maybe the vampire was wrong..maybe there was someone hiding under the table..under something! He was turning the room upside down, at least until the vampire had come back upstairs.

His golden eyes landed on the vampire as he was adressed. Listening quietly to the new proposition, Shadow took only a moment to think about those words. It didn't matter about the night watch..he could slide past it if he really wanted..but lately he didn't care much for patience,

"Again you prove useful, vampire...show me that part of the city.."
Shadow growled, walking over to the vampire,

"..but you'd better not be lying to me just to get back onto land.."
he snapped, going up to the deck so that they could be off again.

Joachim didn't let express his displeasure at the news. He had planed to show Shadow the parts of the city, and beyond that...well, Joachim wasn't going to stick around.
"I would never dream of betraying you sir. That would be...unwise." Joachim noticed that Shadow had left....and he had left behind an upturned room.
Looking at the mess, Joachim knew that an investigation would be mounted. Boats didn't just float in one spot for days. Grabbing the unopened bottles, Joachim began tossed them into the walls, coating them in alcohol. When the least bottle had been shattered and the floors and walls throughly soaked, Joachim knew that after his next move he would have little time to spare. Grabbing a lantern, he made his way to the deck entrance. Tossing down the flame and igniting the alcohol filled room, he slammed the door behind him.
Racing to the front of the ship Joachim began to tell Shadow the directions. "When we get off we'll head to east, approximately 46 degrees to the right. Judging from the winds, we should arrive the port shortly. When we arrive you'll head to a small cove located on the far side of the city. That will be out entrance. "
Joachim smelt the smoke rise from below. "Shall we leave now?"

Shadow could smell smoke...and he did hear a faint breaking of bottles. But..since when did alchohol smell like smoke? He scoffed at himself when he realized just how stupid of a thought that was...the vampire had obviously set the ship on fire using the drink of the sailors to start it. With wings spread out, flexing slightly to get a bit of a stretch before another flight.

Then, Joachim's voice caught his attention as he relayed directions to this so called ungaurded area. He turned a thought over...such a move was somewhat odd..why in the hell would this vampire think to tell him directions before he was up in the air? This left Shadow at a temporary impass..he could just leave him here to burn, or he could escape on the only escape boat that was upon the ship. He was no longer thirsty after all..so...

By the time he was done turning over the interesting thought, the flames from below had already begun to eat away at parts of the upper deck. He could feel the heat growing below his feet as his golden eyes looked upon the vampire,

"I ought to leave you here...but you're a valuable tool, I could have not have even begun to think to search the ocean for such vunerable victims.."
he mumbled, reaching down and grabbing the vampire by his collar again and placed him in the same spot as before,

"So don't think of running once we arrive...because I will find you, and you'd be well of to hope that I don't find you very soon."
Shadow finished with a hiss just as he jumped back up into the air, the deck falling to the flames below.

The ship, consumed by flames, made a noticeable glow in the distance as Shadow flew in the direction that had been given. He flew just as fast as before..but he had to keep low just in case a lighthouse light caught him and the vampire entering from another side of the city.

"Now..you werent' planning to leave me, were you little friend?"

Joachim wanted to laugh. He may have told him the entrance ,but he didn't tell Shadow HOW to evade the traps. Or the certain...undesirables. With the boat behind them, glittering on the sea like a red gem, Joachim grinned as he gave Shadow his answer, a false bravado again.
"I will say this. Should Your hunger turn to me, I would not hesitate to flee or defend myself. However, until that situation arises, I doubt I shall leave your service anytime soon." Joachim held his breath, hoping his honesty would not cost him.
"The cove is located, again, to the northeast. Once we get their I will tell you the next step in out infiltration of the city." Looking at the water below him, Joachim felt calmly at ease. For some reason he felt, even with his answer, Shadow would not abandon him, nor, let him die. He felt he could trust Shadow, even with the fact he had said the Joachim might become his next meal.
"Um...thank you." Joachim felt slightly embarrassed for admitting his weakness. "For taking me off of the boat. had you not, I would have died. If not by fire, then by the sea itself. "

This vampire knew his place..but perhaps a little too well. Did he have such a desire to continue living this new and first life of his? Well..it did have his perks..Shadow could admit that himself, but what more was there to this life if this was all he would do? Ah, but this path would not be his only one...if things kept going the way they were..

Snapping out from his thoughts upon given more instruction, Shadow realized that he had almost been given the slip if he had left the vampire on the burning vessel. He had been hiding a little secret of how to get in..and it was a smart move that made Shadow smirk. All to keep from getting thrown into the ocean..and if this vampire stayed true to those words that came from his mouth, then maybe this heartless had found one he could tolerate just as closely as Toyah. An actual..friend? More so hostage...but it was all the same concept.

If he wasn't so intent on thieving more hearts to satiate his uncontrollable hunger, Shadow would have more than likely crashed into the ocean itself upon hearing those strange words from Joachim. The heartless did falter in his flight if only for that moment of the vampire's gratitude. Quite frankly..he had no real response for such, but what had been uttered left an awkward silence..even if he was the only one who felt it.

"...vampire, I only did it because you are the first other than my 'mother' that I can tolerate...one who shares the same desire to steal the life from humanity.."
Shadow sighed, resuming his flight path once again,

"I don't feel so alone knowing that I'm not the only one who does such deeds for pleasure and sustenance..."

Joachim gripped the spikes tightly, not expecting Shadow to falter as he did.
"That is very high praise," another slight turn, "I expect, coming from you. I do what I must to survive, so why not enjoy it? And besides Shadow," Joachim grinned.
"You'll not be alone, I'll be around so long as you need me."
Looking to the port Joachim spotted the cove.
"OH, OH. We're going to miss it. Head to the right 13 degrees, its a bit hard to spot but, you should be able to see the waves going u and into the cave itself." Joachim's eager behavior was almost unfounded. What had gotten into him that made him so excitable?
"Sorry I over reacted. I guess its just been a while since I've made a friend."
Joachim realized his words. Friend. He hoped he had not just over stepped his bounds.

(Sorry for the shortness, I can't have Joachim do much until they land.)

The fiend was a little wierded out by Joachim's reaction to his statement. Sure he had admitted to feeling a sort of a bond with the vampire...perhaps in time it would work up to a 'brotherly' connection, but he was far too eager quite suddenly. The heartless did correct his flight before the point was passed, sticking his hands into the water as he turned on a whim with the tip of his wing skimming the water line.

Slowing down in his flight as to spot this area Joachim mentioned, the heartless was quiet as the awkward silence creeped up again. Finally..he had to say something,

"I didn't expect such...but it'll be overlooked..."
the fiend answered back quietly, spotting the said area of the cave.

"I've never heard words like that spoken to me, so I do not know what to make of them..or what to reply with."
Shadow muttered, unsure of what to say next..if speak again until after this second hunt was over as he entered the cave cautiously.

Joachim grinned, happy with the new development. "The cave is pitch black, and at some points, drop offs into pools of stagnate water occur. Even with night vision, most of them are hard to spot. Also, traps have been set up by pirates and marauders. If you want to avoid those, I suggest to follow me. "
Joachim walked out in front of Shadow, not wanting him to meet what lived in the stagnate pools. "Its a bit slippery here, but further in its fairly dry."
Joachim didn't notice if Shadow was following him or not.
"Were under the docks and pier currently, about 50 feet down, and we'll hit the beings of the down town district. After that is about two miles strait until we reach our destination."
Joachim thought about Shadow's wings.
"After we get to the bottem and head strait, There is enough room to fly. "
PostPosted: Sun Aug 24, 2008 10:53 am

This way seemed awfully complicated...all the effort that was put into making this place full of traps. What else could they have possibly been trying to keep out from entering this cave? Eh..at least Joachim was familiar with this passage so he didn't have to worry about running into one of these said traps. His gold eyes stayed fixed on both the vampire and into the darkness ahead of them...it wasn't to hard to keep from losing such a pale creature.

With wings settled against his back, the heartless couldn't help but peer around..and being of the darkness, could see some of the human traps. Spears..arrows...bones of those who failed to get through this particular passage. It was a boring trek otherwise...and the fiend was tempted to set of a series of traps just to move things along, or to give them something to do rather than walking and taking the 'safe' side. But of course..Shadow did no such thing.

Though, his wings were itching to spread open again...he just wondered how much longer it was going to take before they got to the bottom of this entrance.

Joachim didn't need powers to tell that shadow was getting agitated. He hoped that the new development would be received well.
"Well Shadow, it about 50 feet until we reach the bottom, at that time, you can fly, which in foresight, is safer than walking."
He smiled, beginning to overcome his fear of Shadow.
"It pretty cool you know? All these traps?"
PostPosted: Mon Aug 25, 2008 4:51 pm

Still ever so quiet, the heartless merely listened to the vampire's words..some falling on selective hearing. He did enjoy flying...it was great to have the ability that not many of these other ghostlings had themselves. Or at least..have a different appearance of wings than any other. Though upon Loachim's last statement, the heartless looked completely down upon the pale vampire,

"...do you dare to think what would be better than to just observe them at rest?"
Shadow scoffed with a slight unseeable smirk...Joachim, if he was as observant as he appeared to be would be able to catch what intent he had behind his voice.

If he could be paler, Joachim had no doubt he would be. To set off the traps..
"You do realize they are meant to kill right? I mean, I may not be 'alive' but I don't want to end my existence anytime soon."
Finally the bottom of the tunnel. "You can fly here now if you want. Me? i'll take the safe rout."
