Malai listened eagerly, the thought of learning new techniques pushing her family problems from her mind. She crouched, like Kohana said, and rolled on her back, claws in the air as she instructed.
"Like this?" she asked, looking at Kohana, eager for praise or correction. There was a grin on her face as she looked to the cheetah. Of course, she really wanted to learn about this "secret weapon" females had. She had just deemed it that, in fact. She wasn't very good at being charming or cute or anything like that. In that area, she'd need a lot of help.

"Oh yes! And if that doesn't work then you pull out your best weapon." She paused and sat up her nose held in the air her green eyes hooded into a coy gaze and one paw help up daintily. "You charm them..." She purred in a soft tone.

Kohana grinned and sprung back up "Females have all sorts of natural abilities, if you ACT weak and helpless then they'll treat you that way, and then they turn their backs...and then..." She grinned and flexed her claws.

Her eyes roamed back over her student and she laughed softly. "Of course you don't exactly look helpless...lets see you try?"

Malai beamed at the praise and rolled back over to watch and then think. How to look helpless... Well, helpless for an adult and helpless for a cub could be two very different things. And she was a cub, after all. So she thought of the worse this that could happen to her, at the time.

A change melted over the rambunctious cub. Her eyes softened and grew more wide in worried fear, her brows peeked a bit to add to that worried expression, her lower lip held carefully between her teeth as she looked around, as if lost.
"I don't... I think..." she said softly, her usually growled words pitched into her normal voice, a soft almost lyrical voice, airy as she spoke. She looked the perfect part of a little cub that had lost her family somehow.

"Aww that's perfect! Now crouch down like your scared and alone, and then POUNCE!" She grinned and put her tail infront of the cub as a target.

This cub thing wasn't so bad, maybe she hadn't been dealt the worst hand, this little girl had the same fire she possessed simply with different talents. Kohana was sleek and muscled, she might look like a warrior to some, but the truth was she was well defined from years of running, hunting, and swimming. If anything she would have made a better messenger able to travel no matter the terrain or weather. Still each piece had it's place generals, warriors, messengers, even the prey in an area mattered in a war.

Malai allowed a small, scared, unsure smile to cross her mouth, flinching at the praise to keep up the charade. She sunk low to the ground, looking to all the world like a frightened cub who just wanted to melt into the ground to avoid the current situation.
"I... don't... HA!" she began in that soft, innocent voice again before leaping upon the tail with her growled exclamation. Unfortunately, she had gotten a little too excited and accidentally bit her babysitter just a little harder than she had intended. Not really enough to break the skin, but probably enough to hurt.
She dropped the tail, though she still stood more-or-less on top of it and looked up at Kohana.
"How was that??" she asked excitedly, her ears perked up and eyes slightly wide with her excitement.

Kohana was so busy examining the little frightened cub for tell tale signs of deceit that she jerked up in surprise when the cub pounced and bit. Her ears fell back and she held in a hiss not wanting to discourage her young prodigy. She smiled and laughed yanking her tail out from under the cub.

"That was very good! Very very good!" She nodded and glanced at her tail to ensure it was intact. Fur a bit ruffled and a spot of soreness but it was fine.

"Thanks!" Malai exclaimed, hopping back a bit and sitting down in front of her new teacher. She rather liked that form of deceit, but she had to remember that it was only to be used against bad peoples. And not her mother or uncle when she wanted to have her way.

"Maybe you're not so bad after all," she mused, smiling up at the female cheetah who could very well end up being her aunt someday.
"Where'd you learn all that, anyways?" she asked, tilting her head. She really did belong in her uncle Shaha's group. She had a passion for fighting and a keen interest in stories. In her eyes, the fire of a great warrior burned, a low flame just in need of the proper tinder and tending to become a bonfire of power.

"Your not too bad yourself." She smiled softly at the cub and lay back down beside her. "I've learned a lot from all over, watching, listening...I run a lot, everywhere." She stretched out her hind legs and glanced back at them.

"You know you can stop someone from running away or after you by making a tiny cut in just the right spot." She nodded softly her claws flexing against the firm earth.

Kohana's head perked up and she smiled as she spotted Mafu in the distance, it seemed her sitting job was over for the day. She grinned at Malai and relaxed, no the babysitting job wasn't so bad after all.

"Cool! You'll have to teach me that, next time," Malai replied, having also seen her uncle coming back from the hunting practice. Oh, but the little angel wasn't ready to let her babysitter go that easily, so she wiggled her way between her front legs, so that she lay on one and was tucked under the other.

"Thanks for the lesson, Kohana," she murmured and closed her baby-blues, a smirkish-smile on her maw as she dozed off into a nice nap.
