User ImageResting on the window seat, contemplating that day's school and listening to the tinker of her father's blacksmithing shop downstairs, Atamia did what she usually did, pressing her face against the cool window and staring down into the streets below. The dog's head in her lap kept her hand warm, though the rest of the room had gone cold. She didn't mind.

"That girl, Isabel, was bullying me again today. But I did what you told me to do: when she said 'bite me', I said, 'OK', and walked at her. She screamed and started running. It was pretty funny." The dog in her lap looked up with it's golden eyes. The low, feminine voice coming out of the dog's mouth was anything but barking.

"Good, good. Now, if she tries to hit you, say something like 'wow, lovely aim. Too bad it missed.' Then run."

"Oh...I don't think so, Dog..." Atamia's eyes caught on something down on the streets that wasn't just a bunch of girls playing hopscotch in the heat. They were crowding around, and following an old man with something glittering in his hand. She pulled her right leg onto the seat and got up onto her knees, pressing her hands and face to the window in an attempt to make out what the old man had in his hand. He was holding them like rocks...maybe they were a rock collection. No...no wait...

Atamia squinted hard, then threw open the window and peered out to find that it was starting to rain. First of the summer. But more interesting was the glittering gems he held in his hand.

The dog, too, stood up on it's hind legs, staring down. "My my. That's a fortune. He must be about to give them away, look at his robe! He's a monk!"

Jordan stared at a tree in the woods, angry tears flowing down his face. He fell back on to the soft grass and tried to relax. He had failed his runes again, and that meant he was probably going to get the belt. Finally the tears stopped falling down his cheeks and he sighed, getting up and beginning to walk closer to the center of the wood. He had found some blackberry bushes back there that he fully intended to eat. Looking up, Jordan heard a strange noise. He pulled out his kanto as he saw bandits running through the woods not to far from him. Suprisingly, they didn't come for him. He stared as they sat behind a bush and watched as instead of jumping himself, they leapt from behind the bush at someone else.

He sighed once again as the bushes came into sight. "Ah... well." He sighed once again as the bushes came into sight. Finally satisfied, he sat on a log nearby with a handful of plump, ripe blackberries. Jordan took out the small note that the tutors had given him and he crumpled it up, throwing it into a nearby stream. They don't need to know! He grinned inwardly at this thought, over the past year almost all of his life became shrouded in secrets... And he liked it. As Jordan through the last berry into his mouth, he walked over to the stream. Taking a drink of the crisp water before continuing his walk.

User ImageAtamia sighed, then turned and slid off the window seat. Her bare feet cringed at the cold stone floor, but she walked on by.

"H-hey! Mistress! Aren't you going to close the window?!" The dog rushed after her.

Walking downstairs with the dog in tow, Atamia was about to head outside when her father's gruff voice emitted from the workshop.

"Atamia, where are you going?"

"Just for a walk."

"In the rain? With bare feet? You'll catch cold."

"I'll be alright, papa."

"OK then. Be careful."

As Atamia left, she turned to the dog and asked, "What does he want me to be careful of?"

But the dog shrugged, and had stopped talking as they entered the crowd of people outside.

Atamia stared around, now unsure why she had wanted to come outside in the first place. She shivered in the summer's first rain, then turned left and walked downhill to the marketplace.

After reaching Wren Taques house, Taran Rockfist shooed away the children following him, smiling. Taran Walked up the stairs, and bowed to Wren.
"I am Taran, A monk from the order of Infyrnus and Kord. They have sent me to help your village, and thus, i must treat you as the local lord. Catch." Taran tossed a emerald worth the amount of a small home. "Thats you're ten Percent. I shall help your village in any way possible. I must ask you though, where are the guards? I was attacked by a mere 17 bandits on the way here. However, i must offer you my services." In a whispering voice, he said; "These young people have no idea how to treat me."
((Look, i'll assume she has stairs, and is outside. Old people generally are. BTW, waiting on you Sorrows falling, as you control NPC's. Post soon))

[[Okay, I know. All NPC's will be in green ok?]]

Wren looked up at the robed man that approached her. When she bowed, she grinned slightly and caught the emerald.
"Well... uhh, Thank you." She sighed, and thoguht about it. "What can you do?" Wren looked at him expectantly, hoping that he could at leats fix some of the broken down houses at the edge of town. Why would they send such an old man...? He looks like he could barely pick up a hammer. Wren stood up and walked over to him, sighing.

"Roughly anything that requires physical effort. I also want you to know that the bandit's will no longer be bothering you. It's hard to attack someone when your ribcage is no longer attached to the rest of your body. As i said, i can do anything that requires physical effort, but i am best at construction and fighting." Taran leaned heavily on the walking stick. "People underestimate me because i am old. This is often a fatal flaw to them."

Wren stared at him in amazement. "You killed seventeen bandits?!" For a few moments she was to shocked to organize her thoughts, but soon, she was back to her normal self. "Well, If you'll just follow me..." She pulled him along down the narrow lane. "These rooves need fixing, and when your done," She pulled out a small ticket from the pouch and handed it to him. "Hand this in to the man behind the counter at the Inn." She gave him directions the small Inn and left, briskly walking back to her house.

[[I'll add the Inn owner to the NPC list.]]

Zero sat on the limb of a tall oak scanning the forest for any signs of movement. In his hands he head his bow, arrow at the ready on the string and slightly pulled back. The air was quite and peaceful, just the way he liked it. He closed his eyes for a brief second and listened.

The steam nearby, the rain pattering on the leaves, and the birds chirped in the branches above him. The sound of a twig snapping caught his ear and his eyes snapped open and followed the sound to where a buck stood. A smirk tugged his mouth. He brought his bow up and carefully took aim, pulling the string back.

The bowstring twanged audibly and the arrow went flying into the deer's shoulder. Not a kill shot but good enough. The deer limped off sluggishly. Zero followed the blood trail to where the deer was collapsed next to the stream. The buck was quivering in pain until Zero pulled out his knife and slit the deer's throat.

Zero twined a rope around the deer's feet and pulled it back part of his parent's old shop. He skinned his kill and put the meat in the back and drapped the skin on the floor to clean and sell later. He went into the house and changed out of the wet and bloody hunting clothes.

Zero made his way out to the front of the shop and busied himself with cleaning up. The room was already clean, he just needed something to do to distract him.

A thin man sat alone in a small shop. A variety of liquids, powders, and other materials laid upon the table before him. Beads of sweat besprinkled his forehead, indicating that he had been working hard. But, such was the life of Rajin Farwind, the youthful alchemist from a distant land.

The day was relatively uneventful. No customers had come in today, but that just meant Rajin had more time to create various potions and mixtures in peace. He suddenly stopped what he had been doing and stroked his chin with his right hand, while tapping upon the closed paper umbrella that was leaning against the nearby wall. Moments later he began his work once more, working more confidently than he had been previously. Rajin could not help but look towards the closed door of his shop every few minutes. It was as if he was expecting someone.

Tyr was curled up on to floor in her parents house, back to the window, and a book opened on her lap. It wasn't exactly the fastest way to pass the day, but she was content enough within the bubble of her own mind, or, at least she was until it started raining. With a sigh she shut the book and turned to look out the window, staring up at the sky with a rather bored and forlorn expression. It would seem as if she were upset over the rain, except for one small detail; she was smiling slightly. "I love rain..." She told the empty house outloud, and then she got to her feet to put the book away on beside the many others of it's kind she had collected over the years.

A moment later Tyr was outside, looking pretty much like an idiot, soaked all the way through and walking slowly along, with her arms held slightly away from her body, as if it were bright and sunny outside. It was just summer rain, warm and humid, but it was a nice difference to the day and Tyr was bound and determined that she would enjoy the rain best if she were out in it. There were a few children who were still out and about despite the rain as well, and because most children gossip worse than adults, it was through them that she learned that there was a man in a monks robe who'd entered the village only moments before.

As Rajin looked out the window within the door of his shop, he noticed it was raining. It was strange, but he must have been so occupied with his alchemy that he was completely unaware that it began to rain outside.

I'll have to work on that.

A thought just shot through his mind and he stood up, taking a large ceramic pot with him. He approached the door, opened it, and then stepped outside. He glanced around a few times, noticing that most everyone in the village was inside due to the weather. He placed the pot upon the ground and waited for it to fill. Rajin knew it would be a long wait and thus decided to take out his pipe and smoke some of his foreign tobacco. Unlike the others, this tobacco had no ill effects from extended use, which left only the calming feeling one feels while smoking. Holding the pipe in his mouth, he folded his arms across his chest and listened to the rain.

Mmm... peace is good.

Still walking about and enjoying the rain, Tyr watched in slight confusion as a man walked out and placed a pot down in the rain. She watched for a moment silently, curiously, still walking slowly forward. Since he was in that direction she decided it was as good a time as any to make a slight introduction with the alchemist, after all, she hadn't met him and normally kept to herself. Still, she couldn't help by fidget slightly as she approached him. She hated meeting people and she didn't exactly want to know what she looked like soaked through by the rain and walking around like an idiot.

Suddenly she wished she'd stayed home and kept reading, after all, she should have realized long ago that walking around in the rain wasn't smart. Maybe if she was going to do it she should've just stayed home and sat in her back yard. With these thoughts filling her head, Tyr didn't even realize she'd walked up to him until she blurted out the words, "That stuff will kill you, you know,", in her normal soft and slightly shy sounding voice until the words had left her mouth. She groaned mentally and wanted to die, but for the sake of not further appearing like an idiot by running away she forced herself to stand there, red in the face, and looking down as if ashamed.

Rajin was rather surprised when the girl approached him. He was even more surprised when she spoke. He had seen her around the village before, especially around the library. If memory served him, she was the librarian. He shook his head slowly at her comment and responded without even taking the pipe out of his mouth.

"Well, you're almost right."

He then pointed towards a shop located a few yards away. It was the local tobacco merchant, identified by the thick smoke and groups of older men.

"That stuff will kill you."

He then indicated his own pipe.

"This stuff won't. I was performing some experiments on tobacco and discovered what makes it so hazardous to the human body. So, I removed it. Don't ask me how because it's a trade secret. However, I can tell you that these do no harm to the body whatsoever."

Rajin lightly scratched the bandage that covered his left eye and continued to smoke, waiting for the librarian to respond.

The blush on her face increased even more at being corrected, and she visably flinched backwards and attempted to shrink slightly into herself by curling inward by a few degrees. What did she do now? She didn't normally make any attempts at going out of her way to introduce herself, and this was one strange experience for her. It would be rude to just turn around and run away like she wanted to do, so she had to force herself to play nice. "Um... Sorry..." She squeaked slightly when she first tried to speak, uttering the first thing that came to mind.

By turning her attention to his feet and not his face, she found it a little easier to speak. "I'm, um, Tyr... Hawthorne." She explained, adding in her last name almost as though it was an afterthought, and saying it slightly louder than the other words because she actually had almost forgotten it. She felt herself blushing even more with embarrassment, what an idiot she must appear to be...
